Hi Friends! I'm happy to share the latest in the Altenew Paint-a-Flower series, the Paint-a-Flower Carnation Stamp Set. The carnation is a workhorse in many flower arrangements due to its long lasting beauty and its wide availability. Sending a card featuring this well-known bloom is sure to resonate with your recipient. You may have come from the blog of Lilith Eeckels, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Card Blog. Just like using carnations to fill in real arrangements, I thought I'd fill up the card base with stamped carnations. I stamped the set of carnations in one corner, and then rotated and stamped in each of the other three corners to fill the card. The frilly petals on these flowers make them easy to watercolor in a random pattern. After putting down a light watercolor, I grab a lot more paint on my brush to go in and darken the centers. I've only used two different shades of red for these blooms. The sentiments in this set are fantastic. Along with the many primary script words, there also several secondary smaller sentiments to pair them with. The small font size makes adding an embossed sentiment on black cardstock a little more subtle, which I appreciate. It was fun to spend a bit of time coloring in a flower I was so familiar with. This is also a flower that comes in many different colors (naturally and unnaturally, as florists tend to take a lot of liberties with altering its color) so you have a wide window of hues to select from. Giveaway Prizes: To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $20 gift certificate to 3 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog by 9/27/2020 for a chance to win. Hello everyone! I am so excited to be a part of Altenew March 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Ink Release Blog Hop today! You should have come from amazing Erum Tasneem, but if not please start at the Altenew blog. My first card featuring absolutley gorgeous Wallpaper Art stamp set. I've started by stamping the images with Antique Linen distress ink onto piece of watercolor paper. I watercolored the flowers using peachy pink paint and the leaves with blue-green mixed with sepia. Once my coloring was done, I die cutting the images with coordinating dies. For my background, I blended Forest Glades and Minty Mint Altenew inks onto watercolor paper, splattered it with the same inks and silver paint. Next, I adhered the flowers on top of my panel with foam tape and mounted my card onto light grey card base. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto tiny stripe of black cardstock andfinished my card with clear sequins. My second card featuring Watercolor Doodles and Versatile Vases stamp sets. I started by stamping the vase and the flowers with clear embossing ink onto kraft panel. Then, I colored this with Polychromos pencils. After I finished my coloring, I added the highlights with white gel pen and white gouache. I white heat embossed the sentiment on top of the flowers and finished my card clear sequins. For my last card I used Bold Bunch stamp set. I stamped the flowers and the leaves with Altenew inks and die cutting with coordinating dies. For the background, I blended Aqualicious and Dew Drops Altenew inks onto white piece of cardstock and splattered with the same inks and white paint. I adhered the flowers and the leaves onto my card with foam tape and stamped the sentiment with black inks. Hope you liked my cards! Don't forget to leave a comment for a prizes and a giveaway. Happy July everyone! I'm super excited to participate in the Blog hop for Altenew's Build-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily The Build-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily set includes 1 6x8 stamp set (14 stamp images) and 1 coordinating die set (2 dies). This special product is only sold as a set, not individually Here is a snippet of info on the Peruvian Lily, also known as Alstroemeria, blooms in a variety of colors and is native to South America. Some petals are flecked with darker shades, resulting in a distinctive and beautiful look. This stamp set includes a realistic and incredibly detailed Peruvian lily, designed to be stamped in contrasting or coordinating colors. A lovely leaf and painted sentiment finish off the set. And here are my projects: This first card features the Peruvian Lily stamped with all the layers. I used the mini crisp ink sets Rose Petal and Tea Party. By mixing up the different inks, each bloom has it's own unique look, yet coordinate because of the similar color sets used. The leaves are stamped with Frayed Leaf and colored with the Artistic Markers. The coordinating dies made cutting the images out a snap and then I layered them onto a panel cut from the Spring Shower Cover Die inked with Shades of Purple mini cubes. Layering Guide ************************************ Creating the next card was a labor of love as I colored the Peruvian Lily images with both Artistic Markers and Ziggys at my mother's bedside. (My Mom peacefully passed away, in her home, June 12th with her family by her side. Ending a two year bout with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in victory, because there is no more pain or worry. Only new Life, with a New Body, rejoicing on the Otherside, in eternal Glory with our Creator:) The final layer of the stamen is embossed with GOLD embossing powder for a simple pop of bling! I LOVE the sentiments that come in the set:) ************************************** And my final project with the Peruvian Lily is a 3D home decor hoopart. So excited at how this turned out!! I stamped several layers from the Peruvian Lily set onto a 7x7" piece of linen tablecloth of Mom's. Then I added color and texture with simple stitches of embroidery thread. Leaving some areas colored in with the Artistic Markers adds more interest to the piece. The BEAUTIFUL sentiment is from the Simple Flowers stamp set. My rusty embroidery skills quickly improved after a few minutes and I found that stitching was good therapy for a weary soul:) To finish off the back side of the hoop, I cut a circle from Pattern paper stamped with the special thank you set from Altenew, and glued it to the back for a clean and simple look. These two coordinating projects are my submission for the final challenge at AECP for Level 2. For MORE inspiration stop by Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog to see what the other designers have created:)) Prizes: To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Three winners will be announced on the Card Blog, and other three winners will be announced on the Scrapbook Blog on 7/8/2018. There's one more prize! Hello and welcome to the November Paint a Flower blog hop and giveaway. This month Altenew are releasing the PAF:Spider Mums and Craft Your Life Apron. To celebrate the DT and several guest designers are sharing inspiration, You should have arrived here from Nenette S. Madero. If not you can go back to the start of the hop at the Altenew Card Blog. I have created two cards with the new set, one water-coloured and one coloured with Artist markers, lets jump in and take a closer look. In this first card I stamped the Spider Mums onto smooth watercolour card using Obsidian ink I then coloured the image with Altenew's 36 pan Watercolour set I added lots of tiny splatters in the background and stamped the sentiment in black. I'm by no means a great water-colourist but I am very happy with how this card turned out, those tiny splatters make it feel so delicate. My second card was coloured with Altenew's Artist Markers Set E. This time I stamped the image twice hanging off the left side of the card using a soft grey alcohol friendly ink as I didn't want the outline to be as bold. I added a soft blue ink blended background using a blender brush (I can't tell you which colour as I just used what was left on the brush from last time I used it) I then stamped my sentiment in black and added a few ink splatters. New Craft Your Life Apron in the shop!! I'm excited to be part of the Blog Hop celebrating the release of the Paint-A-Flower: Spider Mums Outline Stamp Set and Craft Your Life Apron at Altenew. I have two different versions of coloring this new PAF: Spider Mum stamp set. Take a look! I used the crisp inks to ink up the Spider Mum in the MISTI tool, gave it a little spritz of water and stamped for a very quick watercolor look. Did little bit of fussy cutting. Then added it to an ink blended background and wrapped it with some metallic thread, stamped the sentiment in Evergreen ink. And adhered it on top of the Stacked Diamond Cover die. And for the second card I left the PAF stamp in my mini MISTI, inked it up with the watercolor brush markers for some more detailed work and then use the fine liner pens for a quickly drawn frame. The Fine Liner Pens and Apron would make a great gift for any Crafty Friends! Plus that 2 in 1 Precision Glue Pen for all those tiny embellishment needs. Hello crafty friends, blessed Sunday! Today I want to share with you my flower cards using the Altenew Watercolor Wonders stamp set. You may know how much I love flowers and the Altenew Watercolor …
Hello friends. The new Craft A Flower Orion Geranium from Altenew is so much fun to work with! I am participating in a fun hop featuring many talented designers. If you are hopping, you should have arrived from Jaycee Gaspar's blog. The entire hop starts HERE. Altenew always provides great layering guides for their products! Check out all the dimension created with the embossing folder, window and fun foam! As with all my Altenew posts, I started by die cutting the floral pieces so I could play with the arrangements. I used purple and green cardstock from my stash. The second layer and the word hello are cut from Stardream Metallic Amethyst Cardstock, one of my favs! Once I had the flowers cut and assembled, I started creating! Check out the dimension created with the Mod Squares 3D Embossing Folder on White Classic Crest 80 lb Cardstock Prior to embossing, I die cut the window in the cardstock and a piece of white fun foam with a circle die. Once the fun foam was attached to the embossed window piece, I attached it to the card base. I selected a purple geranium flower and attached it to the lower left section of the window. Hello from the Hello and Hugs sets is cut twice and layered prior to adding to the card. The second card uses the Sea Shore Gradient Cardstock in addition to additional colors from my stash. This time I elected to create a slimline card. I've been having fun with this style of card lately. I cut the base and the center strip from White Classic Crest 80 lb Cardstock. A piece of white fun foam adds dimension to the center strip. I arranged the blooms so they hung over the center strip creating a shadow effect. The second bloom is popped with additional foam tape. The word Happy is cut from coordinating cardstock using the die from the Halftone Happy Stamp and Die Bundle. I stamped the birthday on a strip with Altenew's Black Obsidian Ink. Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to be here with Altenew today as they are releasing a gorgeous new stamp set today called Peruvian Lily. Here are the details... Our Build-A-Flower: Peruvian Lily set includes 1 6x8 stamp set (14 stamp images) and 1 coordinating die set (2 dies). The Peruvian Lily, also known as Alstroemeria, blooms in a variety of colors and is native to South America. Some petals are flecked with darker shades, resulting in a distinctive and beautiful look. This stamp set includes a realistic and incredibly detailed Peruvian lily, designed to be stamped in contrasting or coordinating colors. A lovely leaf and painted sentiment finish off the set. This special product is only sold as a set, not individually I have a couple of cards to share using today's set. These flowers are so beautiful and SO easy to stamp! To create this card, I stamped the flowers using Altenew's ink (all colors linked below). I die cut each flower and then stamped the leaves directly on the card front panel. I attached the flowers to the card front with foam tape and then added in the simple sentiment and some little clear drops. Last, I took some glossy accents and added it to the flower centers just for a touch of shine. I have another clean and simple card, just to keep the focus on this gorgeous stamp. To creat this card, I stamped the flower directly on the card front. I masked off the flower and then stamped the leaves in next. I went right on top of that and added in the sentiment in black ink. I popped up the card front on a card base with some striped patterned paper on the side. And again, I added in some glossy accents. Here is the guide that shows just how easy it is to layer these stamps up in any color combination to create beautiful blooms.... Check out the Altenew blog for more details about this latest stamp set. _____________________________________ GIVEAWAY: Wanna a chance to win a prize? :) To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to six lucky winners! You may know by now that my favorite color is grey. THIS is a whole lot of color for this girl - but I'm feeling up to the challenge! Altenew's Inspiration challenge for February 2021 to be exact! Even though my stash didn't include a Bird of Paradise, I was so lucky to have an Altenew win at the end of 2020 - this gorgeous Craft-a-flower Poppy layering set came to live with me - hope you like it! I have a feeling it will be used quite a lot. I've used just one of the blooms on my card... I have to share a little closeup of this gorgeous Dotted Starburst debossing, and the gorgeous layers of this die set ... Several of Altenew's Rounded Rectangles were cut from Neenah 110# cardstock, and layered to create this frame - even the last final smallest rectangle was cropped for the perfect spot for my simple sentiment - from Fresh Freesia. My layered Poppy was cut from my small stash of colored cardstocks... so happy I had close-enough colors! Thanks for stopping by! =] Michele Thank you so very much Altenew for the win!
