April Paper Pumpkin Alternates - All the Little Things. I don't usually post my alternates, but this month's kit was so fun! I pulled in several Stampin' Up! Stamp sets and embellishments to create fun folds and regular cards for a total of 17 cards... and I still had a few items left over! I hope you enjoy this long post of my creations. For these three cards, I used the kit card bases and brought in the Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies Bundle (available May 2nd in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog), Quiet Meadow Stamp Set (sentiment inside the card) and Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels. The leaves and flowers were colored using Blending Brushes and Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers. I also stamped the branches and dotted image with Petal Pink ink on the card base. Wink of Stella was added in each flower center. The banner is from the kit with the sentiment stamped using Memento ink. A strip of the Calypso Coral was cut from leftover sheet where the die cuts were on. A strip of the Gold Trim (from the Gold & Silver Trim Combo Pack) was adhered onto the Calypso Coral strip of cardstock. The banner was adhered with dimensionals. Inside my card, the flowers are from the Quiet Meadow Stamp set and stamped using Petal Pink ink. The sentiment stamped using Memento ink. For this set of 4 cards, I used the same stamp sets as above and also used Share A Milkshake Stamp set for the "Celebrate" sentiment. Wink of Stella was added on each flower center. Balmy Blue, Memento, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green iks were used. This card is a very "thick" fun fold using the Cheerful Daisies Bundle (available on May 2) along with Fancy Flora DSP. The flowers were cut from one of the cherry blossom die cuts. Calypso Coral is the ink used for this card. I got a little too carried away with all the layers, but I still love how it turned out. This will definitely be a "hand deliver" card only. Another fun fold using Timeless Arrangements Stamp set (available May 2) for the sentiment inside my card. Inks used are Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green. A sympathy card using Quiet Meadow Stamp Set for the sentiment inside my card. All That Dies were used for the oval on the front of the card and the Basics 3D Embossing Folder was used on the background. I cut a thin strip of the envelope to add behind the sentiment. Embellishments are Iridescent Pastel Gems. This is a sweet little card using the Little Monkey bundle (also available May 2). The monkey was colored using Soft Suede, Natural Tones & Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers. The sentiments on the front and inside my card were stamped using Shaded Spruce & Balmy Blue inks. The sentiment is from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set stamped using Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped the dotted image all around the inside of the card and shaded the Basic White layer using Shaded Spruce ink and a Blending Brush. Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set (available May 2) was used for the "hello" on the front of the card using Calypso Coral ink. Another leftover strip of Calypso Coral cardstock was added behind the sentiment. The ribbon is Balmy Blue/White Variegated Ribbon, wrapped around the top of the card and tied in a knot. The envelope flap was adhered onto the Basic White embossed layer, which was adhered with dimensionals. This fun fold uses the Cheerful Daisies Stamp (available May 2) set for the sentiments and Delicate Desert DSP. The sentiments and flowers were stamped using Calypso Coral ink. Another fun fold using the Quiet Meadow Stamp set for the sentiment inside the card. The flower strip on each side of the flower was cut in half and adhered onto each side of the card. The background branches behind the flower were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink. This card is pretty simple with a piece of the envelope adhered onto the card base and the leaves adhered with lots and lots of dimensionals. A piece of Balmy Blue/White Variegated Ribbon was looped once and added behind the sentiment which was stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. Inside my card is a strip of the envelope along the bottom and the branches and sentiment also stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. And my final card has a piece of the envelope as the background with the floral image adhered with dimensionals. This sentiment is from the Share A Milkshake Stamp Set, using Calypso Coral ink. Inside my card are flowers from the Quiet Meadow Stamp set using Balmy Blue ink. The sentiment is stamped using Calypso Coral ink. And, these last two photos are my cards grouped together (in no particular order). Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. ********************************************************* Subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by May 10th. What is Paper Pumpkin? Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called All The Little Things. This beautiful kit creates 9 handmade cards. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing how you can create 4 simple cards from one card. All you need are 4 extra cardbases in your choice of coordinating colors. I used one of each color, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, and Petal Pink. If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at [email protected]. It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the first alternative this week. Rotate, and cut each piece in half at 2 ¾”. This will give you four pieces that are 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”. 2- Cut off the flap from the envelope use for Card #1. 3- Trim off the folded edges on the envelope to remove the front from the back. From the solid front side cut three pieces. Follow video below. (Card #3) 2 ½” x 4” (Card #4) 2” x 4 ½” (Card #2) 1 ¼” x 4 ¼” 4- Separate the three peonies from the group. See the video for details on where to cut. 5- Fussy cut around each flower to remove the white border. This will give your flowers a uniform look. 6- With a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker add a little black border around each flower. Use the edge of the brush trip instead of the point. See video. Stamp the Background on the Cardbases TIP- If using two similar colors like Shaded Spruce & Granny Apple Green, or Calypso Coral & Petal Pink you can use Generational Stamping to get a lighter color for the lighter cardstock. 1- Ink the random dot image in Shaded Spruce and stamp a border around the cardbase about ¼” from the edge. 2- If you want to do Generational Stamping you stamp first on the darker cardstock, then stamp again on the lighter cardstock without reinking. Repeat. 3- Do the same with the Calypso Coral and Petal Pink Cardbases with Calypso Coral ink. 4- You do not need to stamp in the center as this area will be covered. Card #1 1- Place the flap of the envelope on one White 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” piece so the long edge sits at the bottom right corner and the top edge is lined up with the top of the white piece. Adhere and trim off the excess. There should be a small strip about ½” x 4 ½” left over, use this for card #2. 2- Stamp the branch image in Shaded Spruce in the white space and across on the pattern paper. To get a lighter image stamp off first, then stamp on. 3- Stamp your greeting above the branch on the pattern paper in full strength Shade Spruce ink. 4- Add adhesive between the two branches along the diagonal between the white and pattern paper. Create a faux bow with 18” of twine. I create a double loop. Add dimensionals over the twine to hold in place. 5- Add the large flower over the twine. 6- Add dimensionals to the back and place in the center of the Petal Pink Cardbase. Card #2 1- Trim the ½” x 4 ½” strip leftover from the envelope flap from card #1 to ½” x 4 ¼”. Adhere to the back along the 1 ¼” x 4 ¼” strip cut from the front of the envelope. Add both of these to the top one of a horizontal White 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” piece. 2- Stamp your greeting in Shaded Spruce to the left in the white space. 3- Add the small flower with a dimensional to the right side with one leaf tucked under the paper to hide the cut out. 4- Take 18” of twine and match the ends together. Measure 4” from the ends and tie a knot. Place a glue dot where you want your bow on the card and add the knot to the glue dot. Even out the twine so it looks like you have double wrapped around the cardstock. Place a glue dot on the back of the cardstock and adhere the twine loops. 5- Tie a bow. 6- Add dimensionals to the back, make sure to add some over the twine to hold in place. Add to the center of the Granny Apple Green Cardbase. Card #3 1- On the 2 ½” x 4” envelope piece stamp the random dots in Shaded Spruce in the bottom 2/3. I wanted a lighter color so I stamped off first, then on. 2- Stamp your greeting near the top. 3- Add your flower with dimensionals in the bottom right area. 4- Add the envelope piece in the center of one 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” white piece. 5- Add this to the center of your cardbase with dimensionals. 6- Add 3 Iridescent Rhinestones. Card #4 1- Stamp your greeting about 1” from the bottom of the 2” x 4 ½” envelope piece. 2- Add to the center of one 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” white piece. It will extend about 1/8” from the top and bottom. If you want you can distress the top & bottom edges with a pair of paper snips. 3- Add the large flower with white border with dimensionals to the right side of the greeting. 4- Add everything to the center of a Shaded Spruce Cardbase with dimensionals. 5- Add 3 Iridescent Rhinestones. GET THE FREE PROJECT SHEET FOR TODAY'S CARDS HERE: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/6jMxMaL/april23paperpumpkinalts Hello! This month's Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project Sheet is a little different because the measurements are for "note card" or thank you card size. You can modify these to the Paper Pumpkin card size if you like. Just wanted to note ahead of time these are smaller than the kit cards. NOTE: I will also be featuring "preorder" item: Circle Sayings Bundle. This will be available to purchase for customers 5/2/2023. Demonstrators can order it now. This bundle can also be placed in the Starter Kit now. Questions? Email: [email protected] Coordinating colors for the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit CARD 1 MEASUREMENTS Card Base: 5 x 7" score: 3-1/2" (Balmy Blue Cardstock) Granny Apple Green Cardstock Layer: 1-1/2 x 5" Basic Black Cardstock Layer: 1/2 x 5" Paper Pumpkin Leaf Die Cut: Cut to 2 x 5" White Circle Punch: 2-3/8" Inside Layer: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4" (Basic White Cardstock) Brushed Brass Butterflies (3) INSTRUCTIONS Cut the leaf die cut in half and trim the edges so it measures 2 x 5" Glue this to the card front (top). Take the Granny Apple Green piece and using the rectangles pattern stamp from the Paper Pumpkin kit, stamp a pattern across this panel in Granny Apple Green ink. Glue to the bottom of the card. Glue black strip where the two layers meet on the card front for a clean, finished look. Stamp desired greeting on circle. I used Circle Sayings to stamp "Sending you a" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and "Thank you" in Granny Apple Green ink. (Love two tone looks with greetings, when possible). Note: you can also use the greetings from the Paper Pumpkin kit but I need a lot of Thank you cards for May, so I went with a thank you theme overall. Pop circle up on dimensionals and place center on card. Add Brushed Brass Butterflies or embellishments from kit. I added 3 butterflies around the leaf pattern. I think it adds a touch of Spring to the cards. CARD 2 MEASUREMENTS Card Base: 5 x 7" score: 3-1/2" (Petal Pink Cardstock) Shaded Spruce Cardstock Layer: 3 x 5" Paper Pumpkin Envelope Layer: 2-1/2 x 5" Paper Pumpkin Single Flower Die Cut Paper Pumpkin Banner Die Cut Calypso Coral Twine (from kit) (About 18") Inside Layer: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4" (Basic White Cardstock) Iridescent Rhinestones from Kit (3) INSTRUCTIONS This card is simple and clean in design. This is one of the ways I like to "extend" the life of the kit with alternate cards. The Paper Pumpkin designed cards have this flower die cut as a layer on top of the floral trio die cut. By holding back that piece we can use it as a focal point on other cards. That's the idea here. Glue down the Shaded Spruce piece first. After you trim down the envelope front to 3 x 5, wrap the twine around it as many times as desired. I chose 3 times. Glue this layer to Shaded Spruce piece. Stamp desired sentiment on banner die cut from kit. I chose to stamp "Thank you" from the Circle Sayings stamp set in Calypso Coral ink. Pop up on dimensionals and add to upper left corner. Pop flower up on dimensionals and add to the right center over twine. Finish with the rhinestones from kit CARD 3 MEASUREMENTS Card Base: 5 x 7" score: 3-1/2" (Basic White Cardstock) Paper Pumpkin Envelope Layer: 2-1/8 x 5" Paper Pumpkin Cherry Blossom Die Cut (Trimmed) White Circle Punch: 2-3/8" Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon (2 pieces about 5-1/2" each) Iridescent Rhinestones from Kit (3) Brushed Brass Butterflies (2) INSTRUCTIONS Stamp the rectangles pattern stamp (from the kit) across the top and bottom of the card front in Balmy Blue ink. Trim the envelope to 2-1/8 x 5." Take the two pieces of Parakeet Party ribbon and tuck the edges behind this layer at the top for one piece and the bottom for the other piece. Glue to center of card. Stamp "Celebrate" onto the white punched out circle using the stamp from Circle Sayings. Stamp "Enjoy your day" from the Paper Pumpkin kit in Shaded Spruce on the Petal Pink circle die cut. Pop this circle on dimensionals and add to the center of the larger circle. It is a perfect fit! Love this combo! The original cherry blossom die cut branch from the kit is very large and very beautiful. I decided to cut it into 3 pieces. The middle and small pieces of the cherry blossom are tucked slightly under the white circles at an angle on either end to make it look continuous. Place these pieces on dimensionals Finish with butterflies and embellishments from kit CARD 4 MEASUREMENTS Card Base: 5 x 7" score: 3-1/2" (Calypso Coral Cardstock) Granny Apple Green Cardstock Layer: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4" Basic White Cardstock Layer: 3-1/8 x 4-5/8" Paper Pumpkin Cherry Blossom Die Cut (Trimmed) White Circle Punch: 2-3/8" Calypso Coral Twine (from kit) (About 12") Paper Pumpkin Calypso Coral Floral Die Cut Paper Pumpkin Stitched Rectangle Die Cut (rounded corners piece) Inside Layer: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4" (Basic White Cardstock) Brushed Brass Butterflies (2) INSTRUCTIONS Note: Of all of the alternates, this one has the most stamping (3 ink shades) and layers. Stamp a background on the Basic White layer using the branch stamp from the kit in Petal Pink. Stamp this image in repeat all over the layer including stamping slightly off the edges to give it a "DSP" look. Stamp the single flower stamp from the kit in Poppy Parade ink throughout the layer between or over the branch pattern you just stamped. Stamp Thank you in Granny Apple Green (or desired sentiment) on the rectangle die cut. Glue the Granny Apple layer down first. Wrap the twine twice around your background layer and glue this to the Granny Apple Green layer. Take the circle you punched out and with a Small Blending Brush (this step is optional) create a soft peachy look with Petal Pink ink and the blending Brush. Add the Cherry Blossom die cut (the bottom piece you trimmed) to the circle with dimensionals. Pop the circle on dimensionals too and add to card on the right. Glue the sentiment to the Calypso Coral floral die cut along the bottom. Place this whole sentiment piece on dimensionals and tuck slightly under the circle. Finish with butterflies. NOTE: If you used the color card bases like I did, be sure to add your inside Basic White panel layers to the insides of your cards if needed. These bases are light but I still like the look of the layer inside the card as well. If you do not have extra white cardstock, consider punching out the circles from the backs of the card bases in the kits. Stampin' Up! sells a pack of note cards and envelopes pre-cut and scored. While I made my own card bases for these alternates with cardstock on hand, I do highly recommend this product if you like making cards in this smaller size or if you send a lot of note and/ or thank you cards. I will include it with the product list. EVENTS COMING SOON!!!!!! We are two weeks away from the launch of the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog!
