Installation Guide Our patented luxury wood vent covers are made of solid Pine and are already primed so you can easily paint to match your walls or trim. Each vent includes a 3-inch (3") deep metal box that holds a 1" inch standard air filter and locks the vent cover in place. HOW TO ORDER YOUR CORRECT SIZE: Remove your current metal return air vent. Do not measure your current metal return air vent cover This will result in ordering the wrong size Measure the inside rough opening: Start by measuring the width, then the height (W x H) Measure carefully Is your opening at least 1/8” larger than the size you plan to order? Example: a 20 x 20 vent requires a rough opening of 20 1/8" x 20 1/8 " Sheet Metal Ducts tend to be small and incompatible with our vent covers. Measure Carefully. Check the depth of your HVAC duct: Make sure you have 3-inch deep clearance inside the duct - remove the old cover or filter to confirm. Review our sizes to select the correct blade/louver orientation that fits: Sizes are listed by width first, then height (W x H) Choose your size width (W) Left to Right first, then height (H) Up and Down Order using width x height to avoid your louvers going the WRONG way. Confirm fit: Did you use the right orientation W x H? Note the louver measurement. FOR EXAMPLE a 20 W x 25 H is vertical compared to a 25 W x 20 H is horizontal. Is your duct opening 1/8” larger than the size you plan to order? FOR EXAMPLE, if you plan to order a 20 W x 30 H vent, your duct opening should be at least 20-1/8" W x 30-1/8" H Do you have 3” of unobstructed depth all the way around your duct Our vents have a 2 inch wide outer wood frame, similar to a "picture frame" Make sure that there is 2" of space free from outside obstructions like baseboards, door jams or decorative trim for our picture frame casing. Don't order a size that is close to what you need, sadly, it won't work as this is a functional HVAC product that needs to align with your filter size. Place your order! Helpful Hints: Orientation Matters! Our sizes go Width (W) x Height (H) The slats or louvers go the Width measurement ( left to right ). Call 713-660-0025 or email [email protected]
