I HAVE TO SAY that this project has been a delight to work with and it will be finished on time for the new nephew or niece who is expected on the 11th of April. I'm so excited to share this with you, but for right now lets just have a look at the progress. I started out by choosing the colors for it from my Tilda Yarn selection. I made the Maybelle Flowers and then turned them into Maybelle Squares, joining them with an accent color and the Join-As-You-Go technique. With a twist, I should add, as the Maybelle Square doesn't have an even number of stitches for the granny clusters. I love how forgiving the art of crochet can be at times. No one would know if I didn't tell you. ;) I then started on the border, which I always had clear in my head, but when I arrived to the edging I had to do a bit of testing to find the best finish. As I don't know the gender of the arrival of this new family member, I wanted it to be neutral; not too frilly, girly or scallopy. Yet not too plain and boring... But simplicity goes far. Like always. The Maybelle Blanket is now finished and only needs a wash and blocking. I will write up the Maybelle Blanket Pattern in full for you here on the blog and organize a perfect Tilda Yarn Pack to go with it as well. So stay tuned. I'm hoping to have it all sorted for you soon. Note: I have written about the Maybelle Blanket Project in following blog posts: Spring Bulbs, Doilies and 15 degrees Picking up something old Here you can find the tutorials for each step: Maybelle Flower Maybelle Square Maybelle Joining Tips Join-As-You-Go Kärlek Annette FOLLOW My Rose Valley HERE:
