Hello Stamping Friends! Today, I’m super-excited to share the September 2021 Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we share on the second Sunday of every month. Our theme for the month is “Celebrate”. For my projects, I decided to celebrate the holiday season, a little early. I am absolutely smitten with the Whimsy & Wonder Suite of products in the Stampin’ Up!® August - December Mini Catalog. This suite features the Whimsical Trees stamp set, Christmas Trees Dies, Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper, Wonderful Snowflakes accents and Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon. As soon as I saw the catalog, the non-traditional holiday colors immediately drew me to this suite and it was first on my list to purchase. Today, I have a fun card and coordinating treat holder to share with you. All of the measurements for my project are listed below and there is a full supply list at the very end of this blog post. My card is actually not a full card base. I don’t know if it’s technically a fun fold, but more of a "peek-a-boo fold" which I’m really enjoying creating right now. It’s a great way to showcase different paper patterns on your card. I don’t know about you, but I have quite the supply of patterned paper in my craft studio. This is a great layout to showcase coordinating patterns because pretty paper needs to be shared, not stashed away. I have to keep reminding myself of that! :) This trio of trees just makes me smile, especially with all of that pretty pink and sparkly detail. It’s tough to see in the photos, but I added some Wink of Stella to accent the larger tree, which gives a fun “snowy” look. I also used one of my favorite products that you can earn for FREE right now (with a qualifying order through September 30th) during Sale-A-Bration. The Be Dazzling Specialty Paper is so much fun! I affectionately call it the “disco ball paper” and it adds such a fun detail. That tiny tree really packs a pop of sparkly goodness and it looks great with the iridescent detail in the patterned paper. Card Measurements and Details: Blushing Bride Card Base: 5-1/2” x 7”, scored at 4-1/4 Basic White Cardstock (front of card): 2-1/2” x 5-1/4” Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (snowflake pattern, front of card): 2-3/8” x 5-1/8” Basic White Cardstock (inside card): 4” x 5-1/4”, stamp sentiment and tree in Blushing Bride ink Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (stripe pattern, inside card): 1-3/8” x 5-1/8” Basic White Cardstock: die cut one 2-1/2” x 3-3/4” rectangle from Scallop Contour Dies Basic White Cardstock: 3/4” x 3/4”, stamp sentiment in Blushing Bride ink Blushing Bride Cardstock and Be Dazzling Specialty Paper (Sale-A-Bration): die cut trees Basic White Cardstock: scrap to stamp and die cut tree Wonderful Snowflakes: cut one in half and adhere behind scalloped rectangle Blushing Bride Frayed Ribbon and Basic Pearls Here’s the coordinating Ghirardelli chocolate treat holder! This little matchbook-style box holds two chocolate squares and is really easy to put together. I created this box last year for a class and have made them a lot for little gifts throughout the year. The box is tied closed with a piece of silver trim. I taped the trim down on the front flap of the treat holder and added the decorative layer over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Wonderful Snowflakes are so beautiful and really add a fun detail to the card. Fun Fact: the center of the snowflake is the EXACT size of a Stampin’ Dimensional, which makes them really easy to adhere. I love these little chocolate squares and they come in a variety of flavors. For this box, I used dark chocolate raspberry and white chocolate sugar cookie. The colors aren’t a perfect match but I think they still coordinate and look pretty. I really don’t think anyone mind when those yummy treats are involved! Ghirardelli Chocolate Treat Holder Measurements and Details: Blushing Bride Cardstock: 10” x 3” On the long side, score at 3-1/4” 6-1/2” and 7-1/4” Die cut a 2-1/2” x 1-1/8” Stitched Rectangle from the Blushing Bride cardstock, leaving a 1/4” strip of cardstock between the die cut rectangle and the edge. (see photo below) Basic White Cardstock: 2-3/4” x 3” Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP: 2-5/8” x 2-7/8” Wonderful Snowflakes, Pearl Basic Gems and Silver Trim Basic White Cardstock (inside box): 2-7/8” x 1-1/8”, stamp sentiment and tree in Blushing Bride ink Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares I hope you enjoyed these projects today! Hi friends, The leaves are starting to turn here in northern Ohio and today is gorgeous! I'm baking an apple cake as I write this and the house smells SOOOO Good...it hardly seems right to be blogging about a Christmas card, but here goes anyway. Forgive me! I got some new embossing folders this week and I especially like this one...it comes in a set of two: #155433 Wintery 3D Embossing Folders The card base is Misty Moonlight. The embossing is separated from the beautiful blue by a 1/4" strip of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. The trio of trees (try saying that 3 times fast!) is mounted on a 2-3/4" circle cut from one of the patterns in the Whimsy & Wonder DSP pack. The trees are die-cut from Silver Foil, Be Dazzling DSP and Blushing Bride cardstock. Here's the list of supplies used on this card: Misty Moonlight 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [153081] Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] Be Dazzling 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Specialty Paper [156629] Blushing Bride 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [131198] Silver Foil 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 Cm) Specialty Pack [156457] Whimsy & Wonder 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 Cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper [156329] Whimsical Trees Bundle (English) [156810] Wintry 3 D Embossing Folders [155433] Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin' Pad [153118] Stitched Rectangle Dies [148551] Layering Circles Dies [151770] White 3/8'' (1 Cm) Glittered Organdy Ribbon [156408] Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack [150893] Have a wonderful week!
Welcome to our Recipe Challenge #263 - Recipe for Celebrating Neutrals! We hope you'll enjoy mixing the ingredients to come up with your own creation!
Today’s card is a re-make of a Christmas card I created two years ago, this time using the Whimsical Trees bundle and the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series paper. I love using trees and non-traditional colors for Christmas, and the iridescent Blushing Bride snowflake print is fresh and something different. This project is so effective, ... Use VersaMark ink and Silver Heat Emboss Powder. 3- Add some Silver to the die cut trees with VersaMark refill and cotton swab. Appy to the bottom of each layer of branches. Add silver powder and heat. 4- Cut tree dies from the Whimsy & Wonder DSP using the simple pattern sides. Layer texture or decorative dies on top. Card #1 1- Cut the Diagonal Stripe Shiny Pattern DSP to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and add it to the front of a Thick Basic White Cardbase. 2- Emboss a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder add it to the center of the cardbase. 3- Create a grouping of trees using the stamped & die cut images you have prepped. Add the larger images first. Mix sizes and textures. You can add some with dimensionals. 4- Take 12” of Blushing Bride Ribbon and fray it from one end to about ½ way. Separate into the section and tie a know about ½ way. Repeat with the other section. Then finish fraying the ribbon. This will keep the small strand together. 5- Stamp the greeting on one of the Seasonal Label Dies in Memento Black ink. Add adhesive to the back. With one section of the frayed ribbon place the center on the adhesive and wrap the ends back and forth to create a faux bow. 6- Then cut 5” of ribbon and trim down the center to create two thinner pieces. Add to the back of the greeting in an X shape. Trim the ends at an angle. 7- Add one of the Wonderful Snowflakes behind the greeting on the left side. Make sure the iridescent side is up. Add everything to the bottom left corner of the card with dimensionals. 8- Then tuck in small die cut trees around the greeting with dimensionals. All Done! Card #2 1- Cut the Blushing Bride Snowflake DSP to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and add it to the front of a Thick Basic White Cardbase. 2- Emboss a 3 ¼” x 5” piece of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with the Snowflake Wintry Embossing Folder. Add it to a piece of 3 ½” x 5 ¼” piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock. Add this to the center of the cardbase. 3- Create a grouping of trees using the stamped & die cut images you have prepped. Add the larger images first. Mix sizes and textures. 4- Add medium size trees in front of the larger trees with dimensionals. 5- Next add the smaller die cut trees around the area where the greeting will go and in front of the other trees. Use dimensionals as you want. 6- Add a Wonderful Snowflake to the open area on the left where the greeting will go. 7- Stamp the greeting in Memento Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock. Add the long label from the Seasonal Label Dies over the greeting so it is pushed all the way to one side. Use washi tape to hold it in place. Run through your cutting machine. 8- Then to cut the other side match the spacing and edges to be the same as the cut side. Add washi tape to hold in place. When cutting with your machine only place the top plate over the area you want to cut. See video if needed. 9- Cut 12” of ribbon and cut in half so you have two thinner pieces. Tie a bow with one of the pieces. Add adhesive to the back of the label and adhere the bow. Trim the ends. Add this to the card over the snowflake with dimensionals. All Done! Tags: 1- Cut out some tags from the Seasonal Label Dies size is about 3 ½” tall from both Cardstock & DSP. Punch a hole at the top and trim the DSP labels in ½”. Add the DSP to the bottom half of each label. 2- With the extra stamped, die cut images, and snowflakes add 2-3 of each to each tag. Do one large piece, one medium, and one small. 3- Stamp your greeting with Memento Black Ink on a strip of Basic White Cardstock that is 3/8” add over the bottom of the trees with dimensionals. 4- Cut 6” of Ribbon and add tie it to each tag. All Done! I have also created a video walking you through each step: To purchase any of the products you see in this video visit https://www.stampinup.com?demoid=2042902 Have a creative day, Chelsey [email protected]

After several projects using the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP, I had some scraps that were just too pretty to toss.... so I made this card! I colored the snowflake with a Stampin' Blend marker, but instead of placing it shiny side up, I did the back side to match the stitched heart. (I thought that heart kind of went with the sentiment.) This is another of those non-traditional color cards, picking up the colors of the DSP. I wish the photos showed the iridescent shiny bits of the DSP better. It's subtle, but so pretty! We've had a crazy couple of months here, one thing after another, capped off by a storm on Sat. the 7th that produced a lightning strike by our house. Scared the holy living bejeebers out of my husband, the cat and dog, and me! It took out our power, TV, landline phone, and Internet. The power company got the juice back on within a few hours, but the rest of it didn't get restored until Wednesday. Because we live in a very rural area, cell service is spotty at best, and mostly non-existent. I tell ya, I never realized how much I rely on the Internet for keeping in touch with people, finding out what's going on in the world, and ordering things (ha!). It was a real eye-opener for me. All that to say there was no tutorial for Tuesday, sorry. We're hitting the ground running today! The Paper Players are back with a fantastic new challenge. Joanne has us working with fun neutral colors! Grey, Black, White & Silver. I can't wait to see what you all do with this color palette! Since Christmas cards are my most needed card right now I didn't even contemplate another kind of card and got right to work with the Whimsical Trees bundle and pulled out all of my fun sparkly, shiny papers and embossing powders. This is a card that is definitely nicer in person! There just isn't any way to capture the sparkle and shine with a photograph...at least not with my poor photography skills! I had a lot of fun mixing and matching the different trees with different paper and embossing powders to create this snowy scene. You'll find a lot more inspiration with these colors on the Paper Players Design Team blogs. Check them out, give them some love and then join in with your own creation! I do love an uncluttered card, sometimes though they are harder to design than one with lots of layers and elements. It took me a few goes to get this one right, I’m really happy with the balance of stamping and white space.I’ve used two stamp sets, Artistically Inked ( I know, again!) and Sparkle of the Season and two die sets, Christmas Trees and Messages. The colours chosen are some of my favourites and work well together for a non traditional Christmas Card, we have Bermuda Bay, Coastal Caban

All Done!
