Good Saturday Morning Peeps! It is time for another new challenge on the OCC Blog. I am the hostess again this week and I have a fun color challenge, I call it "Neutrals with a POP". Basic Gray, Basic Black and the POP is some pretty Real Red, of course you can add in some white or vanilla. I just love this color combo, I started with a base of Basic Black and then I followed that with some basic gray that I embossed with the Stripes EF. The stamp set I used is the new "Love & Sympathy" from Stampin' Up. Such a pretty set. I used my markers in real red and old olive to color the flower. I stamped onto some whisper white card stock. I stamped the sentiment with black. I matted the main image with basic black. I then used some real red that I embossed with the square lattice EF. I added some real red satin ribbon and three small silver pearls. Be sure to check the Our Creative Corner Blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this fun challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along and if you do don't forget to link it up over on the Our Creative Corner Blog so we can all see it! Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!! Spellbinders Glass Effects for a modern look to your card making
Hello Everyone! I have been away for awhile again. Sorry. I have had a really busy bunch of weeks with the kiddos now that summer is in it's dog days, and things were getting tedious with them. So it was Mom to the rescue with a lot of outings, and then getting them ready for Camp! But I am back, and I have a card to share. It just so happens to be Tuesday, so that means a Splitcoast Color Challenge card is in order.. ( Don't want to break with tradition and all..:) Today's colors were Real Red, Island Indigo, and Wisteria Wonder, with a desert option to make it a summer card. I have to say I was a little baffled by this combo. So I decided to keep it really simple, just paper and ink. Here is my card - I used the set called Fast and Fabulous from last years catalog. I barely used this set when it was current, it always seemed to be on lend to someone. But its all good! I stamped my images in the colors for the challenge then used my blender pen to color them. Really "Fast & Fabulous" if I do say so myself! OK, that's it for me! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Details below - Heather :) Stamps - Fast & Fabulous (retired), Pennant Parade (Sentiment) Paper - Naturals White Ink - Real Red, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Black Accessories - 1" square punch, Blender pen, Dimensional Dots
Hi everyone!! Long time no blog. I have been super busy with end of the school year stuff and getting my garden in order. Not too mention allergies have been kicking my behind and wiped out my energy! Anyway, I have a fun card to share today. This was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest. Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest? I love that site, not only for endless crafty inspiration, but for recipes and so much more! But I digress... My card uses some of my favorite cheery summer pattern paper from My Mind's Eye and matching enamel dots (I just love matchy-matchy). I used the Blooms 3 D-Lite die for my flowers and the leaves are vellum cut from the Sprigs set (which I had left over from this card). For the chevron pattern, I used the Classic Ric Rac edger die and made 2 die cuts into my cardstock, separated them a tiny bit and adhered them over some pattern paper with foam squares. Pretty cool, huh?! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Here is a close up picture of the flower details, I just love the emboss and DEbossing details with the Blooms 3 dies. Card Deets: Spellbinder dies: S2-046 Blooms 3 and S4-430 Sprigs Shapeabilities®, E8-004 Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities® Paper: Bazzill Paper Basics, Butter Mints, Sour Lemon and Robin's Egg Card Shoppe cardstock; Vellum cardstock Ink: Tsukineko, Versafine Onyx Black Embellishments - Stamp Simply Ribbon Store: My Mind's Eye Record It "Here is Happy" 6s6 paper pad and enamel dots Adhesive - Tombow USA Mono Multi liquid glue; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares NOTE: You can also find Spellbinders Die Templates and vellum cardstock at the The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Hello I have three Peace Dove cards to share with you today, I've been enjoying playing with distress inks, stamps and stencils to create the backgrounds for my cards. The lovely Peace Doves Die is an Obsession Obsession one and you can get it here all the flowers were made with the Cheery Lynn Medium Tea Rose Die, the leaves on the pink card are the Elizabeth Craft Designs Curvy leaves. The Bird Cage is the Cheery Lynn B198.
It's the first Just Add Ink Challenge for July and its an awesome one suggested by the lovely Kim. One of the new 2015 - 2017 In Colours and an ombre of blues. Stunning colours, right? Right! Lots to inspire you, right? Right! A great colour combo to create a card, right? Right! So for the life of me why did I find this one so hard???? I think my Mojo has gone on holidays with the kids while they have some time off school for their winter break!! I eventually got an idea (as I was drifting off to sleep) and went from there. I've cut 1cm strips of all the colours to use for the challenge and then laid them diagonally across the front panel. Then I cut circles out using the Circle Collection Framelits. If anyone can tell me where my 1-3/4" circle punch is, I would have used that. Maybe its time for a craft room clean up. I've used the new Triple Banner Punch to create a banner. I love that thing! Makes it so quick to create a banner, that's for sure! All finished of with some Gold Metallic Thread, Metallic Assortment Sequins and the Expressions Natural Elements. The Just Add Ink Design Team have created so many lovely cards with this combo so go check them out and come and join the challenge. We would love to see what you come up with! Thanks for Stopping By! Below is a list of all the items that I used in this project. If you live in Australia and would like to purchase and of these items used then just click on the image and you will be directed to my online store. Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog Tweet

Happy Friday, everyone! I have a sweet thank you card for someone who did something sweet for me after I did something sweet for her, LOL! And so I am using the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge shown here: to make this: My friend (and I am sure she knows who she is by now!) gave me some gorgeous 12x12 papers, and I just had to use this particular one because both sides of the paper are so pretty, and worked perfectly with the sketch. Using both Versamark and Strawberry Slush ink, I stamped a sentiment from Another Thank You on a piece of vellum and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then backed it with a piece of Whisper White on which I had stamped a few leaves from Papaya Potpourri. I punched a flower from Strawberry Slush with the Pansy punch, distressed it and separated it into two pieces and added a Crushed Curry blossom (Boho Blossoms punch) and a Candy Dot brad: And because my sweet friend is so thoughtful, she included some stickers for Cassidy to play with, and so Cassidy made a thank-you card of her own: Have a great day! Oh, here’s another thing that Grammy lets Cassidy do: play with her food! This time, it’s cheese! Did you know that you can cut cheese into shapes and make things with it? Creativity blossoms in so many ways! And then you get to eat it!
For this card I embossed and debossed my card, although it was't by design !!! hehe !! I realised after I had run it through the machine I had debossed the middle piece !! oops ! To make this card I used the following from Crafter's Companion: Centura Pearl Snow White with a hint of silver Large and small Die'sire Sunflowers dies Die'sire Leaf 2 die Coredinations card Coredinations sand kit Sentimentals - Love is all you need stamp set Distress inks Embossalicious Lattice folder.
Today I'm sharing some pretties from my Mother's Day - ladies only class in April. You know I've been loving the Special Reason stamps & coordinating Stylish Stems dies so they were top of the list to use for this class. As you know, these & pretty much all the other main elements (So Detailed dies & dotty dsp) are retiring & only available while stocks last) so you'll need to be quick if you like them. This is the first one we made - a combination of flowers, dots, lace & soft colours. Pretty! The flowers are coloured with a fab, new-to-me technique to create a watercolour look using solid stamped images, watercolour pencils & an aquapainter, that I saw Alisa Tilsner share. It was one of those times that make me want to run straight to your desk to try it... so I did, loved it & decided my class lovelies would too...and they did. I used a blender pen to blend the pencil & ink rather than an aquapainter. The blender pen made it so easy to achieve a great look with no risk of excess water. The 3 main technique steps are: 1. Stamp the image in a light base colour - I used so saffron for the flower & pear pizzazz for the leaves. 2. Colour over part of the image with a heavy layer of watercolour pencil in a coordinating colour/s. Place the pencil where you want to have the most colour. I used calypso coral & old olive pencils. 3. Use a blender pen to blend the pencil over the image. This creates a soft watercolour look. See Alisa's video sharing the whole technique here - thanks so much, Alisa I overlaid the coordinating Stylish Stems flower dies over the stamped images - adhering them only around the flower centre. I've flicked up the shape in this pic so you can see the coloured flower a bit better. I must mention two more elements that I think makes me love this card: - the two shaped nested frames in the Stylish Stems die set. They make a lovely combination & Special Reason stamp set includes an image that works with the dies too, as I've used it here. The dies are 40% off until sold out. - The lacy panel using the So Detailed dies. This die is designed to fit a portrait card but I made this stretch to fit this one by cutting it in half & hiding the gap under the stitched circle shape. These dies are 30% off too. Simple Special Reason I was having so much fun trying different ink & pencil colour combinations that I made this card a bonus class project. I used the same method as the first card. For this one I stamped in pink pirouette ink, coloured with melon mambo watercolour pencil... & a good dash of Wink of Stella, which you may see better in this pic. I kept it very simple on the inside too. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my cards & the fun watercolour pencil technique. Do try it yourself with any solid images you have & I think you'll love it too. Leave a comment to let me know if you do, or if you have any questions. Here are some final images for you to pin for later inspiration. I created a CAS birthday card with my favorite dies, the *wildflowers* designed by Tim Holtz. I colored the flowers with distress ink in different colors and sprayed some white Distress Spray Stain on top. I used the funny sentiment from Rubber Dance Stamps and will enter my card into their current challenge ....

Hello friends Occasionally when I have five minutes or more I really enjoy reading through blogs/websites and I often search out other crafters that use Spellbinders dies. It was on one of these recent searches I discovered Amelia Breytenbach from Pretoria, South Africa. I got in touch with Amelia and asked if she would design a card for me to share on my blog, I sent her a couple of dies to use - Floral and Flutter Love. (Apologies Floral is currently sold out - a really popular die this week!) Amelia in fact designed 5 cards - all absolutely gorgeous! Feast your eyes.. A banner card featuring Floral and BoBunny stamp set Love Letters. A butterfly card using Flutter Love, Sprigs and Radiant Rectangles. BoBunny designer paper Madeleine Collection. A pretty girl card with Floral cut away in the centre - clever idea! It also features Flutter Love (tiny butterflies), Fancy Framed Tags One for sentiment oval, Docrafts Papermania designer paper Vintage Notes, Graphic45 vintage scrap -Secret Garden", JustRite sentiment stamp. A beautiful vintage Love card using Flutter Love, Vines of Passion to cut the heart window in the top layer. Prima designer paper Stationer's Desk, Penny Black sentiment stamp from Raindrops and Kisses set, and Stampendous stamp Elegent Borders. A distressed vintage rose card featuring Floral, Flutter Love, Graphic45 designer paper and vintage scrap Secret Garden, JustRite stamp set Timely Banners for sentiment and banner. Thank you so much Amelia, really hard to decide on a favourite! Be sure to check out Amelia's blog for tons of Spellbinders inspiration. I will be searching again for guest designers so keep an eye on your email inbox! Yesterday's Friday Die Day - the 'Happy Birthday' is a stamp, as soon as I'm back in my cabin I'm going to find out which one and let you know. If any of you are tuning into Create and Craft US they are featuring Celebra'tion dies, stamps, papers and inks. Create and Craft UK also featured some lovely new Spellbinders dies too. Sandra asked if I created the boards for the shows, yes I did :) Take care friends - enjoy your weekend, I'm still kit-making.
I am so glad that you are joining us this week for our Artisan Wednesday WOW blog hop. Just in case you are joining us for the first time, let me explain. Each week the ten members of the Stampin' Up!
Wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day, hope it is sweet and full of love! Even though Terry and I have been together for over 12 years this will be our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. No romantic dinner for us though as I'm having a few medical procedures done on the 15th and only get clear liquids the day before, which falls on Valentine's day. We will definitely have to make up for it another day! I have a few crafty things to share. I made this felt Valentine gift bag about a month ago. As always my posts are too long in between! I used Papertrey Ink heart die for the top and bottom border and hand stitched around the edges. Made another one more recently using Papertrey Ink ice cream die with pastel felts and machine stitched around them. Tag is also PTI dies and stamps. I'm working on a fabric Easter bunny bag which I'll share next post, which will be soon! I made a baby girl album for a very sweet Etsy friend who had a little baby girl in October last year. Her name is Kaydence and she is absolutely adorable! I added lots of pockets and places for mommy to write and add photos. Here are some of the pages of the album. A shabby fan card.... And a couple fun Easter cards using some stash from last year's collection from We R Memory Keepers. That's about it for now, I'll be back soon with more! Annette :)

Hi Everyone We are playing along in the Global Design Project challenge #GDP076 and this week is Case The Designer...Kylie Bertucci! We both wanted to play along in this challenge as Kylie's card inspired us both. Here is Barry's entry for the challenge: Barry's entry for #GDP076 I used the same stamp set, Special Reason with the 2015-2017 In Colours and created 2 panels.
