Hello. :-) In the years before I had children, I used to force paperwhite flowers to give as Christmas gifts. It's really easy to do, and makes an incredibly lovely presentation for someone (even yourself). I would scour thrift stores to find vessels for the bulbs to grow in, but the one I always used for myself was from my dad. It's a decent size, made of glass, and Dad told me it was an antique battery holder. It's one of the few treasures I have of his, and reminds me just how much he loved shopping for antiques (though, at the time, I thought it was just old junk; what did I know?). The Christmas cards I'm sharing today feature a Flourishes set, Paperwhites. I was lucky enough to win it one November a few years ago. Each of these two cards have the same color palette: warm grays and cream. Even the same Copic markers were used on each one, but with quite different results. The first is my favorite, and that of my 13 year old daughter, as well. A smidgen of a vintage book page peeks out at top and bottom behind the main panel. A vintage button and thread adorn it. I've stamped the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from the Paperwhites set across the bottom, over the flower stems. Finally, a coating of crystal glitter over the flowers gives it a subtle, festive feel. I used a colorless blender pen by Copic to create some random dots amidst the background. Love how it turned out. On the next card, I used a smaller bouquet stamp from the set to create a background for the card base. The main panel was colored with the same markers as above, but see how much different it looks when on cream cardstock? Same greeting, stamped in the same way, but this time I also stamped it in black on a mini circle tag. It was popped up on foam dimensional stickers, and tied with the vintage thread. Which one do you like better? Before I go, I just want to share a pic of my girls when they were younger. Why? Because this mother's heart is bursting with gratitude to be entrusted with these precious lives. I love my girls so very, very much. Thank you so much for visiting me today. I really appreciate it! Stamps: Paperwhites - Flourishes Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Gray - SU; Vintage Cream - PTI; vintage book page Ink: Sahara Sand - SU; Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko Fibers: vintage thread Accessories & Tools: Classic Tags die - Memory Box; Copic markers; vintage button; Crystal glitter - Martha Stewart

My flower image was inked in Memento London Fog and colored with these Copic Markers ~ BV000, BV00, V15, C2, YG11, G21, G24 and RV000. As you can tell I added some scoring in the background. My inspiration for this card came from the awesome Paper Players Sketch #57 and the colors are from the CR84FN35 combo....did someone say lavender :) ...yeah?!? To compliment the sketch I added the PTI Edge Collection #2. Some Lavender Moon Ribbon, a Button, Silver Pearls and some matching Scrapper's Floss. ********************************************************************************************************** Next is my card for this weeks Card Pattern Sketch #126 and you guessed it right I had to use the CR84FN35 colors again...did I mention I really like them...LOL?!? Welcome to Friday! I have a DOUBLE post for you today :) Flourishes Friday and a sample for Becky Fleck's new CardMaps Sketches! Be sure to scroll all the way through! Nothing more delicious than your own strawberries! It's a spring/summer treat we love. Our everbearing strawberry patch took a beating this winter, so we bought 6 more plants, and that will hopefully keep us supplied. This lovely Flourishes Strawberries set showcases some gorgeous strawberries, greenery and sweet sentiments. Today I colored it up with Copic Markers and gave it that country feel with these pretty MME Rosy papers and lots of gingham, even in the ribbon. Of course I forgot that I wanted to use this set with our other set Basketweave that pairs so well...oops! I know the other girls remembered so you'll get lots of peeks at it. Spellbinder's Picot Edge Circles frame the image out, and some simple sewing to also frame it out. Someone asked me recently if I was going to give up Copics because I've some some watercoloring again....NOPE :) I'm an equal opportunity colorist! I love it all! I love picking up different mediums for different effects, so copics, prismacolors, watercoloring...you'll hopefully see it all here. (Copics R81, R35, R39, G82, G94, G85, YG0000) and now...some of us from the Flourishes Family had the privelage to design cards with this month's CardMaps sketches from Becky Fleck....here's mine...be sure to check out Becky's sketches this month by clicking on the CardMaps link on her site! I used one of Becky's own sets she designed for Flourishes called Country Charm Labels, which works perfectly with the Spellbinders' grommet labels. I've embossed the labels on graduated colors of cardstock and used the other elements from the set to stamp the background, pulling all the colors together. A few Icing Sugar Candi act as the "grommets" and some lovely satin ribbon. Now please head on over to the rest of the DT to see their fabulous Basketweave and Strawberry creations. Delicious! Welcome to another month of Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge! (BBB24)! This month's Challenge is The Beauty of Winged Things! Birds, butterflies, even lady bugs -- let your creativity flow on this challenge aimed at honoring those creatures with wings on your card or creation! A big welcome to Geri who won last month's Flourishes challenge and joins us this month on the BBB Challenge team! For my card today I chose to go all rose with a touch of bluebird! I am using Flourishes Spring is Sprung stamp set. I used Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock. I used Ranger Brushed Corduroy ink to slightly ink distress the edges of all my card stock and designer papers. I layered the focal image with Spellbinder's dies. I used the Spellbinder's Nested Pennants for the sentiment. I decided to do Outline Color Stamping for the focal image. To make inking a stamp with multiple colors easy, I used Ranger Ink Blending tool, replacement foam. For the colors I used Ranger Peeled Paint, Memento Rose Bud, Memento Summer Sky, and Memento Bahama inks. I cut up one of the replacement foams into several pieces. I placed it in the corner and dabbed at the ink. I then inked the stamp according to the color I wanted for that area. I love the finished results. Definitely want to try this look more. I finished the card with some sewing machine stitches, paper distressing, and seam binding bow topped with gold trimmed with white centered button from my stash. I did add two corsage pins to complete the look. As always thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to check out all the other beautiful creations from the Bring Back Beautiful Designers! Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Did you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day??? We sure did...we were again total slackers..!!! We enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics!!! We are always blown away by all these amazing athletes!!! On Saturday afternoon our middle daughter Rebecca played in the *Championship* game for her age group, but unfortunately they lost by 3 points...!!! It was a really good game...and we are extremely proud for making second place!!! Of course we had to celebrate with some yummy ice cream - LOL!!! Okay...moving on to today's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - FTTC54!!! Dee Jackson is our host and she is challenging us to an "All About Me" theme. Use what you love and what makes you happy!! Use your favorite colors, stamps, layout, and embellishments! Whatever ROCKS your world! We would love to see what you create!!! Did I ever mention that my main reason getting into stampin' was to create personalized presents...treat bags, boxes etc.??? Well over the last few months I've been trying to get back to my original idea...!!! I have bought plenty of dies and templates to create my projects!!! A few other things that make me happy are - a great Stamp Set, the color purple, my fav Silver Pearls (hopelessly addicted - LOL) and a good Sketch!!! Here is my take on the challenge.... I used the beautiful newly released From the Garden Set. My idea for this Set came from this weeks CAS54 - Wishing for Spring!!! The Sketch is from last weeks Mojo125....I tweaked it a little bit. I just saw that my card also fits this weeks CC258 - Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Soft Suede. The flower images and sentiments were inked in Memento Black and colored with these Copic Marker Collections - Lilac, Meadow plus YG91. For my little gift box I used the Fancy Favor Sizzix Bigz Die. I decorated it with the same Lilac Avenue DP and the same Plum Pudding Ribbon as the card. On the sides I punched holes and attached some Large Silver Eyelets to hold the Ribbon better. For the inside I added some purple Gift Tissue and some packages of Flower Seeds...voila!!! Please make sure to stop by Barbara, Betty, Cindy, Dee and Maki's blog to see their take on the Challenge!!! Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!!! ~Supply List~ Stamp Set: From the Garden (Flourishes) Ink: Memento Black, Copic Marker Collection - Lilac, Meadow, YG91 and Colorless Blender Cardstock: White Design Paper: Lilac Avenue (Kaiser Craft) Accessories: Plum Pudding Ribbon, Silver Pearls, Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die, Circle Spellbinder Dies, Large Silver Eyelets, Bow Easy, Stampin' Dimensionals

I used the Tiny Flowers and Tag with the cherries stamp and the XO's. I also used the new Taylor-Made Classic Tag Dies: I created my frame by using my Spellbinder's Classic Circle dies. ***I have 2 posts today. For my Nina B Designs creation, please scroll down. :) Hello there! I am back again with the new challenge for the week at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday. This week Maki is our hostess. The challenge is “Alphabet Letter” - Pick one alphabet letter and use at least three supplies/elements that start with the letter of your choice. For example, if you choose “B” for your alphabet letter, make your creation with “B”rads, “B”uttons, “B”ow, color “B”lue, designer papers by “B”asic Grey and so on. I chose "button, bow, and birthday". I used Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock along with the Tailor Made Tag die and April Showers stamp set. I decided to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch.

For this month’s Bring Back Beautiful challenge, we’d like to honour those in our lives that bless us with their friendship. The challenge is just that simple – make a card or creation with a friend in mind! Link up your Bring Back Beautiful Challenge creations over on the Flourishes blog. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB21. You have until April 30th to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a Bring Back Beautiful Winner button to display proudly on their blog! I also want to give a big welcome to three new members of the team - Linda, Claudia and Naomi!!! These girls have incredible talent and I just *know* you are going to love their creations!!! Sadly we also have to say farewell to Heather and Beate, but they aren't going too far - you'll still see their amazing work on the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenges each week. I've made this a shaped card for something a little different and used orange for my colour palette. Orange, I admit, is not in my comfort zone, but I was thinking of my friend and she loves orange, so I thought....why not??? The base has been made of pumpkin pie and cut with Mega Curved Rectangles and then I've added a layer of vanilla. The next panel is the smaller die from the same set used for more pumpkin and a piece of Howdy Doody DP. Next I've cut some vanilla with Labels 14 and topped with another piece of vanilla cut with Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. Across this is a piece of ivory satin ribbon. The sentiment is from Gerber Daisy and has been stamped and cut out with Ribbon Tags Trio and attached with some spotty orange grosgrain ribbon. The daisies (also from Gerber Daisy) have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR00, YR12, YR16, YR18, E31, E33, YR24, G20, G21, G24, G28 - Burnt Orange Collection, Leaf Green Collection, Beehive Collection, Flesh Tones 1 Collection) and then fussy cut and popped up on foam tape. To finish I've added some Latte Pearls to the corners. Stamps - Gerber Daisy (Flourishes) Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Howdy Doody MME DP Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories - Copics, Mega Curved Rectangles, Labels 14 Nestabilities, Twisted Metal Accents and Ribbon Tag Trio Shapeabilities, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Orange Spot Grosgrain Ribbon, Kaisercraft Latte Pearls, Scissors, Foam Tape. Don't miss all the stunning creations the girls have for you this month..... Betty Wright Claudia Rosa Iwona Palamountain Kathy Jones Linda Duke Naomi Gong Yvonne Hagane Thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp and play along with us this month!!! :)

Hi, I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! Just a short post today for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #170 Challenge, where Beate challenged us to use Flowers on a project. I was waiting for my Flourishes order to arrive and it came today! The Zinnias image was cut using Spellbinders Classic Square die, and I sponged the edges with Memento Summer Sky. This was adhered with pop dots onto a Fleur De Lis Square die-cut. Thank you for visiting me. For my dear friends in the US, Happy Memorial weekend! Kary Products used : Flourishes Stamp set Zinnias, Memento Rich Cocoa & Summer Sky, Copic markers, Neenah Solar White cardstock, Hero Arts Pool Designer Paper, American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6x6 pad, Spellbinders Classic Square & Fleur De Lis Squares, MFT Mini Foursome Tabs.

Since it's already the last Tuesday of the month, the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday ~ FTTC90 has invited a Guest Designer!!! Please help us welcome the fabulous Mrs. Linda Coughlin. Linda and I had the pleasure of being on another Design Team together and I'm so thrilled to have her host today's challenge!!! Okay everyone, get all of your other embellishments out and show us what you have stored in your drawers all this time!!! Have fun :) and I can't wait to see your ideas!!! I have actually two different cards for you today. My first card was inspired by the Embellished Vintage Color Challenge ~ Green, Yellow and Rust. As soon as I saw these colors I immediately wanted to grab my gorgeous Flourishes Sunflowers Set. I did make it *vintage*, but my photograph kinda took away the entire look :(..... I promise I ink distressed, edge distressed and made it look *old*!!! Here is some more info about my card ~ I used Dusty Durango for the *Rust*. The DP is from the PinkPaislee Bayberry Cottage Collection. For my embellishments I used some matching Rust Ribbon, a Small Paper Doily, some Lace Ribbon, some Halfback Pearls and some Copper Hardware. I also pierced around the edges, tore a bit of the DP in the upper right hand corner plus I added some Glitter on the Sunflower...voila!!! Please don't forget to stop by ~ Barbara, Betty, Cindy, Dee , Maki and Linda's blog to see their ideas on this weeks FTTC90 challenge!!! My card is also for these challenges ~ Stampin' Royalty #42 ~ Ribbons, Ribbon, Ribbons Daring Cardmakers ~ Autumn Leaves One Stitch At A Time #36 ~ Anything Goes ****************************************************************** My second card is also created with a Flourishes Set that is dear to my heart ~ Think Pink - Fight like a Girl !!! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness I decided to play the fun challenge over at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #62 ~ use a Pink Ribbon and primarily the color Pink on your card!!! The colors on my card are also for this weeks ODBDSLC34 ~ using Kraft, Black plus one other color (Pink)!!! The layout is from this weeks MMSC76 Sketch. I kept this card pretty simple, since I wanted the focus on the super cute shirt!!! The DP is from an old SU Stash. I added some White Cotton Lace, some piercing, scoring and finished it off with the Pearls in the corners!!! Breast Cancer Awareness is so important ladies and gentlemen!!! Please go to your yearly check up!!! Thank you for swinging by today!!! Have a fabulous week??? Hugs ~S~

I sooooo need this little break :) I did a little stampin' yesterday and finished up my Flourishes Timeless Tuesday project for today!!! Talking about today's FTTC51 Challenge.....we have a Guest Designer!!! It's no other than my sweet blogging friend *Pat Adam* also known as *The Rubber Maid*. Pat is hosting today's Challenge and here is what she is challenging us with in her own words......!!! "For this week's challenge be inspired by the letter *P*. Sounds a bit crazy, but not really if you think about it for a bit. I'm thinking pink, pearls, poppies, purple, punches, and piercing. Do you get the picture? Sure you do so let's get moving and make those perfectly pretty and positively pleasing presentations. Don't think you've been challenged in this way before, so I will be excited to see how you all do." Pat I used the beautiful Sweet Violets Set on the card and box. The sentiment on the card is from the brand new Taglines Set. The images were inked in Memento Black and colored with these Copic Marker Collections - Hollyhock, Dahlia and Holly. Here are all the *P*'s I used on my card..... the color *pink*, *piercing*, *punches*,*pearls* and I added a *present* on the side :) !!! The Purely Pomegranate CS in the center is 4" x 4". The White CS with image is 3 3/4'' x 3 3/4". I also want to thank you all for supporting me and for all the sweet comments and followers I have received this year and I hope you will come back in 2012!?!? Wishing you a fabulous new 2012 and happy crafting!!! Hugs, ~Silke~
Happy Tuesday and happy October! The temperatures have nicely cooled off here in the South....love that it smells and feels like *Fall* is in the air! So, what did you all do this weekend??? We went to a birthday party and relaxed the rest of the time...I actually napped a lot, I think the *fresh* air got to me...LOL! I did get a chance to stamp for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday ~ FTTC138. My sweet friend Heather is the hostess and she is challenging us with this beautiful *Fall* inspiration photo. The colors are definitely my favorite....I miss the beautiful *Indian Summers* we used to have in Michigan. It always reminded me of how beautiful God made this world! Here is my take on it.... I went with the Flourishes Sunflowers and the A Season of Thanks Set...because it complimented Iwona's awesome Sketchbook #131 layout. The image was inked in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with these Copic Markers ~ YR02, YR07, R27, Y15, Y21, E37 and Colorless Blender. I added some corrugated cardboard and *ink distressed* the edges with some White Ink. I embellished the rest of the card with a doily, some Ribbon, Antique Brad, Glitter and some Large Halfback Pearls. Hope your creative juices are flowing and you get a chance to play along with us :) ?!? Don't forget to check out the rest of the team ~ Cindy, Heather, Tammy and Beate. We also have some extra helpers ~ Mona, Iwona and please help us welcome our new October Guest Designer Rosemary Dennis. Thanks for swinging by today...have a fabulous week! Hugs, ~Silke~
