This is the template I have designed to create my "Wholsch" kirigami sculpture. A very handsome model when complete. The goal was to play with spectrum of scale... the longest mountain fold is 62.7mm, while the smallest is a mere .7mm. The result is very topographical-looking. This is not an assembled piece, rather it provides you with the pattern to make it yourself. I spend a lot of time and care in designing these; they are accurate to the 10th of a millimeter. To use it, I print it out (color or b&w works fine; I use a b&w laser printer), attach one edge gently to a piece of card using lo-tak tape or glue stick, then score with an embossing point, cut with a scalpel, and fold with my fingers. Please note that this is a challenging model to construct. If you are a beginner, it might be worth starting with a simpler design and working toward this one. All templates are A4 pdf files. I prefer the metric system. But they work just fine on letter paper too. If you want native letter-sized templates, let me know and I'll make some for you. Each one comes with a photo of the finished goal, to help you work, as well as some general tips and then the template itself. Any questions, please feel free; I'm a genuine enthusiast and don't mind talking about it :) Happy cutting, and be careful with those blades!

Please note that this is a challenging model to construct. If you are a beginner, it might be worth starting with a simpler design and working toward this one. If you're interested in the final product and not just the pattern, I sell these separately; but if you want to get hands-on and DIY, this is the item for you. All templates are A4 pdf files. In the Japanese paperfolding art of origami, cutting the paper is frowned upon. But in 1981, Masahiro Chatani, professor of Architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology proved that papercutting could indeed produce stunning pieces of art.Along with his colleague Keiko Nakazawa, Chatani developed Origamic Architecture, a variation of kirigami (itself a variation of origami where cuts were allowed), where you only needed an X-acto knife and a ruler to create complex 3-dimensional structures out of a singl...
