My junior classes traces the evolution of American literary movements. At times, this organization can be challenging because it's hard to get student excited about early American literature. However, over the years, I've learned to appreciate this structure for a few reasons: First, chronological study allows students to see how history and literature affect and reflect one another. Similarly, working with different literary movements helps students see the evolution of American literature.
As a child, I always had my nose in a book. I loved being transported to different lands, meeting interesting characters and getting lost in a story. Books captured my imagination in a way I never knew was possible. Now that I’m a mom, I can’t wait until my son will be able to enjoy... View Article

Need some positive, community building classroom management? You're in the right place. Use this in your classroom to ignite the climate and ensure student success. We begin the school year by brainstorming what they want their classroom to look, sound, and feel like. We document the positive aspects of a classroom, and then we document the negative aspects of a classroom. I introduce the "One Rule Classroom" poster. We categorize the negative aspects of the classroom into "hurts, interferes, or prevents". The students use the language in the poster to self-monitor their behavior and identify behaviors in others that might be interfering with the learning process. This has transformed my classroom culture. It has helped to promote accountable talk and build a positive classroom community. You can also hang this anywhere in your house to give your kids some inspiration! Upon purchase, you receive access to both the script and block number versions in the following colors: orange, red, blue, green, purple, pink, coral, turquoise, gold & gray. Just choose the one that works best for your classroom and print. These are optimal for 16x20 or 18x24 posters.

“Have you played the Images ...? Without undue vanity, I believe that these three pieces can hold their own and will assume a place in the piano literature ... to the left of Schumann or to the right of Chopin ... as you like it.” Thus wrote Debussy in a letter to his publisher and friend Jacques Durand in 1905. Debussy’s prophecy was to become true. The pieces have become a fixed part of piano repertoire. Incidentally: for the slow movement Hommage à Rameau Debussy, an innovator who was still aware of tradition, was inspired by a performance of Castor et Pollux in 1903.
I have been working on this center bundle since January! I wanted it to be PERFECT so I took my sweet time with it. Originally I was always on the search for reading comprehension printables and thought I should just make my own to create exactly what I am looking for. I am so glad I did because I can't wait to go back to school and use it on my kiddos. I know it will definitely be a hit with them! Take a look! My Reading Comprehension Survival Kit! It's a bundle full of all the printables you need for improving reading comprehension skills. You can rearrange the board as needed. If you are learning certain reading skills for the week, you can post those up as a reference for the kiddies. This packet can be used in a variety of ways: -centers -independent work after reading a story -buddy work -whole group -homework The possibilities are endless! There are tons of reading skills reviewed in this packet! The best thing I love about this packet is that the printables are reusable. They are interchangeable and can be used over and over again for stories. It's a great way to keep your little one's attention and having fun at the same time. There are printables for different skills that include: -story elements -comparing and contrasting -author's purpose -sequencing -retelling -favorites -inferencing and predicting -fact vs opinion -fiction vs non fiction -changing endings -describing characters -writing letters -cause and effect - the 5 w's (who, what, when, where and why) -posters in color and b&w -roll and read with recording sheets -reading log This KIT includes posters with important skills that students should master. These poster's are in black and white and in color. It's up to you how to use them. I prefer them to be in the student's center folders. They can use these folders as a reference when needed and doing center work with their peers. The color posters can be used for the board as you interchange them for each week depending on the skills being taught or for reinforcing. It's a great visual! Here are some closer looks at the bundle: If you want to get some more info on this packet or would like to grab this perfect reading comprehension bundle you can grab it HERE or go to my { TpT } store to check out what else I have! Chopin’s early works include a wealth of new stimuli for anyone wishing to take a closer look at the creative works of the Polish genius. Up to now the four Rondos have been missing from our catalogue; but now they are finally available in Henle Urtext. Although they have been unfairly neglected, there are real discoveries to be made. It is hard to imagine that Chopin was only 15 when his Opus 1, the Rondo in c minor, was first published. Likewise, his Rondo op. 5, which incorporates the exotic sounds of Polish folk music, and the brilliant work in C major op. 73 were also written during his time in Warsaw. Without a doubt the young composer, who was the darling of the Warsaw salons, wrote these works as showpieces for himself. Here, and also with the Rondo op. 16, his mark is unmistakable. Our Urtext edition is also available as an affordable study score.
Use this writing center to help your students develop their creative writing skills! Students build a story by picking out a setting, character and event card and placing them on the writing center. Then they write a story about the cards using a vis-a-vis marker (or black dry erase marker) on the wipe off mat (extra writing pages are included for longer stories). Two versions of the center are included. One with dotted lines and one with plain lines. A reference page is also included with over 50 descriptive words for students to choose from to incorporate into their stories. There are 30 settings, 30 characters and 30 events to choose from. That's 27,000 possible story combinations!!! Each card is color-coded (settings = pink, characters = yellow, events = blue) and numbered for your convenience. Use a 9"x12" manila envelope with a clasp to store the center. There is also an optional recording page if you want to grade student responses. *Now includes black and white version of the recording pages and a page where students can draw a picture to go along with their story (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.K.3, 1.3, 2.3 and 3.3). The power of electrochemical measurements in respect of thermodynamics, kinetics and analysis is widely recognised but the subject can be unpredictable to the novice even if they have a strong physical and chemical background, especially if they wish to pursue quantitative measurements. Accordingly, some significant experiments are perhaps wisely never attempted while the literature is sadly replete with flawed attempts at rigorous voltammetry. This textbook considers how to implement designing, explaining and interpreting experiments centered on various forms of voltammetry (cyclic, microelectrode, hydrodynamic, etc.). The reader is assumed to have knowledge of physical chemistry equivalent to Master's level but no exposure to electrochemistry in general, or voltammetry in particular. While the book is designed to stand alone, references to important research papers are given to provide an introductory entry into the literature. The third edition contains new material relating to electron transfer theory, experimental requirements, scanning electrochemical microscopy, adsorption, electroanalysis and nanoelectrochemistry.

There's an old policy about judging books by their covers, but we can't remember what it was on account of our policy towards memorizing stuff from books that don't have awesome dragons on the cover. We asked you to show us what it might have looked like if some of history's greatest books were designed with similar short-sightedness.
