We are doing all the finishing so there is always lots of filling, sanding and painting that needs doing. I've spend the last 4 days staining and sealing the french doors for my new craft studio. By the title of this post you would think that we are going to learn how to make some craft beer today! Well, we will not be making beer - but I will be using the new Brewed for You and my Blending Brushes to make some fun cards for you friends and family that enjoy a cold beer. So these beers were finally crafted by using several different ink colors blended together to show you one of the many ways we can use blending as a technique - which is what this month's One Stamp at a Time blog hop is all about. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, here to show you some great examples of how we have used blending to create some cards and 3D items. The links to other talented demonstrator's creations will be at the end of my post. I created two cards and a gift card holder using a new set that will be available on May 1st. with a beer theme. I was excited about this set because all of the men in my family are really into craft beers. Going to a local brewery and tasting a flight of crafted beers is a fun night out for all of us. The first card with the 4 tasting glasses is very typical of how we sample the new offerings, they are usually smaller 4 or 5 once glasses of several different brews. For all of these cards - I took Bumble Bee Ink and Pale Papaya Ink and used my blending brushes to create the beer color for a lighter beer. ( which is what I usually stick to!) Then to make a stronger - IPA or Stout beer - I blended in some Cinnamon Cider Ink and some Soft Suede Ink. After I got the color I liked, I took my Spritzer and sprayed a tiny bit of water on the blended colors, then dabbed off any tiny little water spots still on the paper with a paper towel. This creates a little bubble effect in which a freshly poured beer may have. For the beer flight tasting glasses - everything was done with die cuts from the Brewed Dies. The paper is Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Basic White cardstock (in which I colored with my Blending Brushes). The DSP is the upcoming catalog as well, it is called He's The Man - it is 12 X12 with 12 sheets of 2 each of 5 double sided designs and then 2 sheet of die-cut punch out designs that coordinate with several of the more masculine stamp sets being offered in the new annual catalog. The sentiment is from the Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set which is carrying over to this next catalog. The die I used is from Ornate Frames - which sadly is not being carried over :( 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 The second card features the beer mugs and the growler. Again, the beer, the sentiment tag, the growler and the foam are all blended colors to achieve that beer look! I used Basic White card stock - for the foam I used Grey Granite and for the Growler I used Cinnamon Cider and Soft Suede inks. These mugs were stamped twice - once in the white card stock and once on my beer blended paper, then die cut and layered over each other. This sentiment comes with the Brewed for You set. The round die cut behind the growler will be available in the next catalog as well - in the He's All that Bundle. Same Bundle that coordinates with the DSP I used on these cards. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺 The 3D item I made this month is a gift card holder. This is perfect for where I live, anytime any of the guys in our neighborhood lend a hand with a project - they are always paid back in either a gift card for the local brewery or a 6 pack of beer - so I think this stamp set is going to get a lot of use! The base of this gift card is one piece of cardstock 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" - I used Crumb Cake here DSP piece 4" X 5 1/4" - again I used a new DSP from the upcoming catalog, He's The Man DSP The next layer is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that measures 4 1/4" X 8 3/4" that is scored at 3 1/4" and 6 1/2". After I applied the coordinating DSP to the shortest flap that will be folded up to make the gift card pocket - I punched a thumb grab for the gift card. I placed a piece of the blended cardstock on the inside of the pocket before I glued down the sides of the pocket that forms the gift card holder. I added the coordinating DSP to the inside top flap and the Thank You sentiment I used is from the Plentiful Plants Stamp set that is also going forward in the next catalog. I used the same circle die I used on the second card on some blended "beer paper" and stamped it with the Oh, Ale Yes! in Early Espresso Ink and adhered it to my little gift card pocket. For the front flap of the card holder I blended the beer and the growler on white card stock and stamped them with black ink and die cut the pieces. This sentiment comes with the Brewed for You set and I used the Stitched Rectangle die and popped it up with Dimensionals. This whole card holder trifold was then adhered to the middle of the card base. I hope you enjoyed my blended Beers!! Now it is on to see what everyone else has created:

This month we have created 4 new projects for June featuring our favourite products.You can guess, because of my love for birds, I had to get the Pretty Birds Bundle. Happy Blog Hop Day! Every month my friends from around the globe bring your projects centred around a common theme to delight and inspire! This month the theme is "Masculine Makes". PERFECT timing, as Craig's birthday is next week and I had nothing made ... although as I type this I realize I didn't actually use a birthday sentiment lol! Oh well. Good excuse to do more crafting!! Here is what I came up with ... I wish I could tell you the name of the "fold" ... alas, I can't find one! ... so I shall call it the "Box Card". Creative, eh? lol. Friends have told me it is a "Cube Card", a "Decorative Corner Card", other shave said it's a "Pillar Box Fold" ... so who knows! I call it pretty! hee hee I've seen these "cards" before but never made one. Not sure why! I stumbled across a VERY old swap in my stash and thought it would be perfect for our Masculine Makes. Quick and easy yet not to "floofy" for a guy! I used NEW products from the 2022 - 2023 Annual catalogue (it goes live in less than a week - May 3rd!!!). The products are part of the "He's The Man" suite. It has AWESOME Designer Paper (complete with TWO sheets of pre-printed die cuts), a stamp set and matching dies (He's All That Bundle) and Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots ... all for just $94 CDN! (plus tax and shipping). It is a MUST HAVE Suite of products for ALL your "Masculine Makes"! This "fold" is SO quick and easy! You start with your standard half sheet of card stock (Sahara Sand) at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". On the 8 1/2" side you score it every 2 1/8" ... so 2 1/8", 4 1/4 and 6 3/8". You also need a strip of Sahara Sand measuring 1" x 5 1/2", scored along the 1" side at 1/2". Fold and burnish on all score lines. Using liquid glue, glue the 1" strip inside the box, forming your sealed cube ... Then you just decorate! I used Early Espresso mats measuring 2" x 5 3/8" (you need 4 of them) I used the He's the Man DSP and cut 3 pieces measuring 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" ... and one Very Vanilla with the same measurements. I adhered all layers using Stampin' Seal. I added some "photo corners" from the new "Fabulous Frames" dies (available May 3rd) The decorations are made from one of the dies in the "He's All That" Bundle. The two circles were cut using the FABULOUS new "Stylish Shapes" dies. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and comes from the He's All That stamp set. To attach the circular sentiment piece to the card base you need to punch/die cut two 1" circles (or larger .. whatever you have that is smaller than your sentiment piece. You fold the circles in half and glue one half of each circle to the sides of your box ... here is one side. The other side is the same - just make sure you glue your half circle piece on either side of the fold. I hope that makes sense. Hopefully it makes sense. You want the sentiment to be secured to the box but to protrude when the box is open. So in the picture below, one of the 1" circles is glued to the left side of the centre fold and the second 1" circle is glued to the right hand side of the centre fold. The back of the card is where you will write your sentiment. ... and that's it! REALLY very easy and quick to pull together. I love this! Clean, simple and ready to give to your favourite fella! I normally post links for the products at the end of the post but since 90% of the products aren't available until May 3rd, I can't. The system I use doesn't have the items populated yet. If I get a chance I'll come back and update this post in May (after I'm back from vacation!) to make shopping easier for you.
