The couple are guests of honour at the British High Commissioner's residence in New Delhi where William is expected to pay tribute to his grandmother before hundreds of prominent Indians.
Hello and seasons greetings to you all! On this festive morn the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined a procession of royals for the annual Christmas service at St. Mary Magdalene Church. William and Kate were beaming as they made their way to church following what was undoubtedly a very exciting morning with Prince George, now two-and-a-half, excitedly opening his gifts and celebrating Princess Charlotte's first Christmas. It's a packed year at Sandringham with an estimated thirty royals enjoying the festivities at the Norfolk estate. Members in attendance include Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, the Wessexes, the Yorks and the Princess Royal and her husband Timothy Lawrence. It offers a splendid opportunity for them all to unwind and enjoy some quality time together. There has been much speculation regarding William and Kate's plans for the day, but judging by the absence of the Middleton family at church this morning I think we can safely say reports the Cambridges are marking the day with the Royal family are correct. We had assumed last year's celebrations at Anmer Hall heralded the start of a new tradition, however, it seems William and Kate have chosen to alternate between both families as so many do. Some have suggested the Queen and Prince Philip's age may be a factor in the decision William holding the umbrella over Kate. Rebecca English elaborated further on festive plans including news Her Majesty has reportedly invited the Middletons for the annual Boxing Day shoot. The family are expected to stay at Anmer Hall for a few days. Rebecca English Twitter Feed The parish Church of St. Mary Magdalene is both picturesque and steeped in history, with memorials to many members and relations of the Royal family, from Queen Victoria onwards. It is considered one of the finest carrstone buildings in existence, and dates back in its present form to the 16th century. Sandringham Estate We last saw the Cambridges at the church for Princess Charlotte's christening in July. A lovely shot of William and Kate. After the forty-five minute service the royals chatted with locals. William and Kate exchanged Christmas wishes and chatted with well-wishers. Prince Harry meets locals. Embed from Getty Images Upon their return to Sandringham House it will be a change of clothes followed by a traditional Christmas lunch of Norfolk turkey with all the trimmings. At precisely 3 pm the family gathers round to watch the Queen's Christmas speech. In the afternoon, they reportedly often take in a stroll on the majestic estate. Tonight, the last ever episode of Downton Abbey airs, and William recently revealed "Downton is one of my and Catherine's favourite programmes". I expect they will be very eager to tune in. Tour Norfolk The Duchess wore a new coat by Sportsmax today (with thanks to Ashley for the speedy ID). The Long Belted Coat is made of green virgin wool - a very festive and appropriate colour for the day. At present, it is reduced from $1805 to $1231 at FarFetch. Farfetch A closer look. Farfetch Underneath Kate wore the very pretty Great Plains Cézanne dress. Kate wore the dress in "Winter Pink" for a 2013 visit to Grimsby. The brand is part of the French Connection family - another label the Duchess is fond of - and offers stylish clothing at affordable prices. Several readers noted Kate wore the dress in another colourway, 'Pine Needle', today. We see both versions of the dress in the graphic below. The Cezanne is described as "a printed tunic dress with a boat neck, short sleeves and a pleated skirt". It is 100% polyester and originally retailed for £75. It's a great dress and one I hope we see in its entirety in the future. Great Plains A look at Kate's rich green hat which was complemented by an elegant updo. Kate selected her Aquatalia Rhumba boots. Aquatalia Kate carried her Mulberry Bayswater clutch in black suede. Mulberry One of the talking points regarding Kate's look today has been a very striking brooch she wore. The eagle-eyed Anna noted Kate first wore the Acorn Brooch for the Diamond Jubilee Luncheon in 2012. It is believed the piece is a gift the Duchess may have been given for her wedding or perhaps from her parents. The Middleton family's coat of arms features three acorns representing their three children. They were chosen because the area in which the children were brought up, West Berkshire, England is surrounded by oak trees. Additionally, oak is a long-established symbol of both ‘England’ and ‘Strength’. Wikipedia Kate accessorised with her Kiki McDonough Classic Green Amethyst Diamond Earrings. Kiki McDonough It was a lovely ensemble for the Duchess, filled with beautiful pieces which made for a very seasonal look when worn together. You can watch a video at The Telegraph. The Queen's Christmas Speech is now available to view at YouTube. It begins with a selection of images featuring highlights of the year including Prince George's appearance at Trooping the Colour and Princess Charlotte's christening (you'll notice one of the christening portraits beside HM). Her Majesty references her upcoming 90th birthday celebrations, saying: "I look forward to a busy 2016 though I have been warned I may have 'Happy Birthday' sung to me more than once or twice". The Queen reflected on the pain those who have lost a loved one this year may be experiencing and referenced the darker events of the year, adding: "It is true the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year". The Queen concluded the speech with this hopeful message: 'There's and old saying that it it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness. There are millions of people lighting candles of hope in our world today. Christmas is a good time to be thankful for them and all that brings light to our lives.' As we approach the end of the year it feels an appropriate time to say an enormous thank you to everyone who has visited and commented on the blog this year as well as welcoming new readers who have recently joined us. There's a fantastic community of intelligent, informative and witty posters here who have been involved in many great discussions and debates. I look forward to seeing that continue and to following Kate with you all in 2016! :) We'll be back with our Year in Review post as well as our end of year polls next. All that remains is to wish you and your loved ones a Very Merry Christmas!
Kate, who celebrated her 34th birthday yesterday, looked calm and collected as she joined the royal family at Sandringham war memorial cross in Norfolk.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined several members of the Royal family to pay tribute to the sixth Duke of Westminster at a memorial service this afternoon. Over 2,000 mourners were in attendance at Chester Cathedral including close friends, relatives, dignitaries and representatives from the numerous charities he supported. The Duke, Gerald Grosvenor passed away due to a heart attack in August, aged 64. His wife Natalia is Prince William's godmother and he has served as something of a mentor to the future king. When it came to choosing Prince George's godparents, William and Kate chose his son Hugh Grosvenor. At just 25 he has now become the seventh Duke of Westminster. The Cambridges used the Duke's jet several times, most recently for their summer holiday with George and Charlotte in France. Below, Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster with his sister Lady Viola Grosvenor. Embed from Getty Images And Hugh pictured with his mother Natalia (William's godmother). Embed from Getty Images More from the Telegraph's story: 'At the time of his death the landowner was worth around $10.8 billion (£8.65 billion) according to Forbes, making him the 68th richest person in the world, and third in the UK. He owned 190 acres in Belgravia, adjacent to Buckingham Palace and one of London's most expensive areas, as well as thousands of acres in Scotland and Spain. In 1973, when he was 22, he became trustee of the Grosvenor Estate and was forced to abandon his dream of a career as a professional soldier in his uncle's regiment, the 9th/12th Lancers. He instead signed up to the Territorial Army and in 1994 received an OBE for his work as a volunteer soldier. When his father Robert died in 1979, he became the sixth Duke of Westminster aged just 27. He succeeded his father to become chairman of Grosvenor Holdings, the commercial arm of the Grosvenor Estate, and dedicated himself to using his wealth responsibly. The Westminster Foundation, which manages the estate's charitable giving, has donated to more than 1,500 charitable organisations since 1974, and the Duke was also president of the RNIB for 25 years and president of the St John Ambulance for 10 years.' Below we see the the late Duke with his wife Natalia and daughter Viola at the requiem mass for Hugh van Cutsem in 2013. The streets of the small cathedral city were lined with people wishing to pay tribute. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall arriving for the memorial. The Duke of Westminster was a dear friend and a confidante of his. Princess Eugenie was also in attendance. Embed from Getty Images More on the history of Chester Cathedral: "The cathedral is a Grade I listed building, and part of a heritage site that also includes the former monastic buildings to the north, which are also listed Grade I. The cathedral, typical of English cathedrals in having been modified many times, dates from between 1093 and the early 16th century, although the site itself may have been used for Christian worship since Roman times. All the major styles of English medieval architecture, from Norman to Perpendicular, are represented in the present building. The cathedral and former monastic buildings were extensively restored during the 19th century (amidst some controversy), and a free-standing bell-tower was added in the 20th century. The buildings are a major tourist attraction in Chester. In addition to holding services for Christian worship, the cathedral is used as a venue for concerts and exhibitions." A look at the Shrine of St Werburgh inside. The Mail Online reported: "Prince William, Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge are all regular visitors to the Grosvenor properties. Lady Tamara is married to Prince William's best friends, Edward van Cutsem, and William and Harry were both ushers at their wedding in 2004." More on the service from the Chester Chronicle: 'Prince William read the Garter Prayer, part of the annual service for Knights of the Order of the Garter, with which the late Duke had been honoured. Lady Edwina, the late Duke’s second daughter and a campaigner for prisoner reform and rehabilitation, delivered an emotional reading titled ‘A letter to my father’. Grosvenor Estate has revealed an excerpt from the letter, which read: “You taught me so much. "Fight for what you believe in. "Don’t ever give up. "If you are knocked down, dust yourself off... and get back on your feet.” Distinguished tenor Ian Bostridge CBE accompanied by Andrew Wyatt, assistant director of music at Chester Cathedral, performed Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck. Readings were also given by the 7th Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, who read his father’s favourite poem, If, by Rudyard Kipling, and Richard Lyttleton, cousin of the late Duke, who read Revelation 21: 1-7.' A portion of Rudyard Kipling's 'If' - a beautiful poem which was the late Duke's favourite as mentioned above - a very fitting choice for his son to read today. If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! William and Kate leaving the service. Kate was attired in black for the service. Kate's choice of coat will be familiar to many. The Duchess wore the black Alexander McQueen coat she debuted at Remembrance Sunday in 2015. It's lovely to see the piece in its entirety - it's a very chic garment. The coat is believe to be a bespoke piece based on the similar Velvet Trim Double-Breasted Wool Coat. Below we see it at Lane Crawford where it retailed for $2,045. The heavyweight piece is described as "an utterly irresistible concoction of virgin wool and velvet, creating a dramatic standout look". Lane Crawford Kate wore a black dress underneath. Below, a look at the neckline. The Duchess wore her new black John Boyd hat (with thanks to Anna) and accessorised with the Queen's pearl and diamond earrings. It would appear these earrings are at Kate's disposal at the moment. The Duchess first wore them during the Canada tour. The amazing Anna noted: "The Countess of Wessex wore these only one time to a royal wedding in 2012 (while wearing other jewels on loan from the Queen). HM wore these back in 1977 during her silver jubilee." Below, we see Kate wearing them in the Netherlands last month. Kate carried her Pretty Ballerinas /Mascaro black velvet clutch. And completed the look with her black Gianvito Rossi pumps. Gianvito Rossi It seemed very appropriate for William and Kate to attend the service today. The Duke of Westminster was a great friend to the Royal family over the years and the huge turnout for his memorial is testament to the high esteem in which he was held. The Duchess looked very appropriate for the nature of the occasion too. For those asking, there is nothing announced for Kate's diary at present. Prince William has a few on his calendar, so I would be surprised if something isn't announced shortly. We'll update our 'Kate's Calendar' section on the sidebar the moment we hear of anything.

Hello, we're back with news of Kate's first engagements of the year and beginning our annual end of year polls. If you're just joining us, we've added a page for the 2017 Year in Review posts here. Duchess Kate's royal schedule for 2018 begins next Wednesday, 10 January, with a visit to Reach Academy Feltham, a school working in partnership with Kate's patronage Place2Be and other organisations to support children, families and the whole school community throughout their school career. She will see the early years provision in the nursery and speak to parents who have benefited from the school's parenting support. Afterwards, Kate will then take a brief tour of the school before joining a discussion with Place2Be staff and a group of pupils from the Academy about the range of support on offer, including emotional wellbeing support, LGBT groups and a girls' group. On 16 January, William and Kate will travel to Coventry for a day of engagements. They will begin the day at Coventry Cathedral. Constructed mainly in the 15th century, the original building was destroyed by Luftwaffe bombs on 14th November 1940. After a short tour of the ruins of the original building the Duke and Duchess will have the opportunity to meet members of the local community gathered there. Next, will travel on to Coventry University where they will open the new Science and Health Building. The University is one of the fastest growing in the country, with more than 26,000 students. Finally the Duke and Duchess will see first-hand the work of the Positive Youth Foundation in the city. The Foundation works with young people who find themselves living in challenging circumstances. Vote for Kate's Best Day Dress of 2017 It's time to get our annual polls started! As always, we're asking you to choose your favourite looks worn by the Duchess in 2017. In our first poll, we're looking back through Kate's selection of day dresses. First up, we have the blue belted dress by Eponine London Kate wore in January for an engagement with the Anna Freud centre. From the 2016 Autumn/Winter collection it's a classic silhouette from a brand that specialises in bespoke womenswear inspired by the silhouettes of the fifties and sixties. I suspect the next option will prove a popular one. For the Heads Together briefing, Kate looked effortlessly stylish in the Erdem Evita Dress in Black Lily Collage. Vibrant lilies in yellow, green and blue boldly punctuate a light weight, textured black matelassé background; intensely gathered around the waist, neckline and down the sleeves. Kate engaged in a stylish spot of sartorial diplomacy in Paris when she wore Chanel. The bespoke piece was described by the Telegraph as a "striped cotton tweed waisted frock with a box pleated skirt and bracelet sleeves in blue and red". For the 'Party at the Palace', Kate gave her See by Chloe Lacy Jersey Long Sleeve Dress another outing. The pointelle-knit, cotton-blend dress is underpinned with a tonal slip and has a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, finished with a ruffled collar and cuffs. For Pippa's wedding in May, Kate chose an understated pale pink McQueen dress. The Duchess was aptly attired for the Chelsea Flower Show in a dress by French brand Rochas. The Floral Printed Silk Crepe de Chine Dress features a fitted waist, flared skirt and silk lining. Made in Italy, the piece is "Rochas emerald and off-white". For Trooping The Colour, Kate wore a vibrant pink McQueen number. The garment is a bespoke version of the brand's Paperbag Waist Dress. The original sleeveless design was described: "Pink silk-cotton-wool blend pleated skirt skater dress from Alexander McQueen featuring a round neck, a concealed rear zip fastening and a short length." Kate was elegant in white McQueen for Royal Ascot. The white cotton blend and silk lace dress features delicate pleats, a high neck, three-quarter sleeves and a flared skirt. Kate looked impeccably stylish in the Gucci Tweed Dress With Web during a visit to the V & A. It marked the first time the Duchess has worn clothing by the Italian luxury brand. Made in Italy, the £1,790 cotton-blend mini dress comes in black and white light tweed with blue and red web trim and faux pearl embellishments that are topped with the label's iconic interlocking 'GG' logo. The Duchess donned a polka-dot Dolce & Gabbana dress for Wimbledon. The dress is cut from silk-blend charmeuse with a scoop neck and cropped sleeves, and flares gently into a knee-length skirt. Kate wore a beautiful white Catherine Walker dress with a floral print for the Wimbledon final. Another dress I suspect may do very well in the poll. The Duchess arrived in Poland wearing the Alexander McQueen Wool and silk-blend twill peplum dress coat. For a day in Heidelberg, it was a bespoke Jenny Packham. The floral jacquard dress features the fit-and-flare silhouette Kate is fond of. It was another case of diplomatic dressing as the hue channeled the gold in the German flag. For the final day of the tour, the Duchess was colourful in a bespoke lavender Emilia Wickstead dress. The long sleeve dress has a fitted bodice and flared skirt. Kate selected a Prada Poppy Print Dress for an official visit to The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace in honour of Diana. In October, William, Kate and Harry joined children from their charities at Paddington Station. Kate wore the Autumn/Winter 2013 Orla Kiely Raised Flower Fitted Dress. It is described: The dress has a fitted bodice and slim sleeve and pencil shape skirt. Dress falls just below the knee. The boat shape neckline is slightly lower at the back. Kate wore the GOAT Eloise Dress for the Place2Be School Leaders Forum. The 100% wool, plum dress is described as "Simple, chic and timeless the Eloise dress in a deep purple hue is a wardrobe must-have. A line shaped with a high neckline decorated with shine pewter buttons. It was the Kate Spade Diamond Pleated Shirtdress for a visit to the Foundling Museum. In Manchester, Kate looked lovely in the berry GOAT Elodie Dress. This is a tough one! My own favourites include the white floral Catherine Walker worn to Wimbledon and the Chanel design in Paris. It was another glorious display of pomp, pageantry and tradition for this year's Trooping the Colour in London. The Duchess of Cambridge travelled in a horse-drawn carriage with Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cornwall. The royals waved to well-wishers. Trooping the Colour is a military parade dating back to the 1700s. Although the Queen's birthday is 21 April, it has long been tradition to celebrate the Sovereign's birthday publicly on a day in June, when good weather is more likely. Her Majesty has attended Trooping the Colour every year since 1947 except in 1955 when a national rail strike cancelled the event. This year, with her 90th celebrations in full swing, it's particularly special. The Queen on her first Trooping as the Sovereign in 1952. Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh travelled in an Ascot Landau drawn by horses Sydney and Vienna. Over 1,400 officers and military personnel are on parade, together with two hundred horses; over four hundred musicians from ten bands and corps of drums march and play as one. Some 113 words of command are given by the Officer in Command of the Parade. The parade route extends from Buckingham Palace along The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and back again. The Army in London More on the day's events from the Household Division: 'During the ceremony, the Queen is greeted by a Royal salute and carries out an inspection of the troops. After the massed bands have performed a musical 'troop', the escorted Regimental Colour is carried down the ranks. The Foot Guards and the Household Cavalry then march past Her Majesty, and The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, rank past. The Queen rides in a carriage back to Buckingham Palace at the head of her Guards, before taking the salute at the Palace from a dais. The troops then return to barracks.' A magnificent scene on the Mall. On horseback were Prince Charles, Colonel of the Welsh Guards; Prince William, who is Colonel of the Irish Guards; and the Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals. Following activities at Horse Guards Parade, the Royal family headed to Buckingham Palace where they assembled on the balcony to watch the RAF flypast. The Cambridge family appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony together for the first time. Princess Charlotte made her debut at the event. As always, it was a real treat to see the adorable pair. How adorable are they? :) Yesterday, the Duchess told guests at a reception Charlotte has "a feisty side". We got to see little glimpses of her personality today. A gorgeous shot of Kate with her daughter. The Cambridges and Prince Harry. A royal wave from Charlotte :) Embed from Getty Images Prince George was eager to get a better look. Embed from Getty Images There was a large turnout from immediate and extended family members. The flypast was spectacular as always. George looked particularly impressed. Charlotte appeared to find it a little noisy and momentarily covered her ears. The royals enjoyed the display. A wave from Prince George as the royals made their way inside. Does Prince George's outfit look familiar to you? It was previously worn by Prince William at Prince Harry's christening in 1984. We regularly see the Duchess giving a nod to previous occasions through sartorial choices. For official events George is often dressed in looks worn by William or very similar to styles he wore as a child. Embed from Getty Images For George's first Trooping appearance last year, he wore the blue outfit William wore for his first appearance in 1984. A closer look at the little prince. Those expressions are priceless :) Princess Charlotte looked darling in a pretty pink dress. What Kate's Kids Wore noted she also wore her pink Amaia Kids bow and her Early Days 'Mary Jane' shoes. It's the sixth consecutive year Kate has attended the event. In 2011, it was cream McQueen followed, by bespoke Erdem in 2012. In 2013 and 2014, she selected looks from McQueen, and last year a floral-print coatdress by Catherine Walker. We recently saw Kate repeat the cream McQueen style she wore to Prince George's christening for The Queen's garden party. Today, it was another christening repeat - the bespoke cream, fit-and-flare McQueen coatdress the Duchess wore last July when Princess Charlotte was baptised at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate. This time, the Duchess teamed the coatdress with a striking pink hat by Irish milliner Philip Treacy (with thanks to Ella Sweet Pea). It is described as "a moulded slice hat in sinamay with rosettes from the SS16 Collection". The soft pink colour of the hat works very nicely with cream. Mr. Treacy has long been a favourite of the royals, the Duchess has been wearing his designs since her pre-engagement days. A closer look at the hat on Kate. The Duchess accessorised with her Mappin & Webb Empress Pendant. The Duchess completed the look with new large pearl earrings. It was thought they are a pair by Balenciaga, but upon closer inspection it seems they are not identical. We'll update if they are identified. You can watch full coverage of the event on YouTube. We'll see you tomorrow for The Patron's Lunch :)
Prince William brought the royal tour to a poignant close as he sat down with his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, on the same marble bench as his late mother, Princess Diana, at the Taj Mahal.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry hosted President Obama and the First Lady for dinner at Kensington Palace. The royals greeted the Obamas inside Clock Court. They chatted outside for a moment despite the dismal weather. Prince Harry greeted the First Lady with a kiss on each cheek. It's a significant night for the young royals - marking the first time they have hosted a head of state without other senior royals present. This type of role will form an important part of their duties in the years ahead. It's also the first official function held at William and Kate's recently renovated Apartment 1A. Ahead of the dinner, Kensington Palace said: "Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to welcoming President and Mrs Obama." William, Kate and Harry have forged a warm relationship with the Obamas in recent years. The Duke and Duchess met the couple at Buckingham Palace shortly after their wedding in 2011. Kate met Michelle again at the Olympic Opening Ceremony reception in 2012. William met the President in the Oval Office in 2014 when the pair discussed children, with William revealing he was so excited when George was born he forgot to ask the gender. Harry has worked with Michelle in particular, through support of military personnel and work with the Invictus Games. They posed for a photo outside the front door of William and Kate's Apartment 1A. Omid Mio Scobie shared a photo of the entrance to 1A. As Mr Obama approaches the end of his second term in office, it seems rather fitting for the royals to host them during what is expected to be his final official trip to the UK as president. A White House spokesman said: "The visit will allow the president to offer his gratitude to the British government and people for their stalwart partnership with his administration and the American people throughout his presidency." William, Kate and Harry led the the President and the First Lady to the Drawing Room before dinner. Prince George was eager to meet the guests and was seen standing in the hallway waiting for the Obamas. The Prince was allowed to stay up late to meet the couple who were absolutely thrilled to spend time with him. Princess Charlotte was sleeping soundly. Indeed, President Obama is the first of many presidents George will shake hands with throughout his life. This photo is unbelievably adorable - it's a real treat to see the William and Kate with George in their own home - and how cute is he in those pyjamas? A closer look at the mother-son moment. Prince George thanked the President for his rocking horse, given to him when he was born. It very much shows the level of consideration given to the visit, placing out the rocking horse and toy dog the Obamas gave George when Charlotte was born, and it was a lovely gesture to introduce George and have him say thank you in person. :) .The Duchess and The First Lady chatting. It is incredibly interesting to see William and Kate's home. The interior decor is very tasteful and elegant. There's a wonderful selection of family photographs and flowers. Earlier today, the Obama's had luncheon with the Queen and Prince Philip at Windsor. During a press conference afterwards he described the monarch as "a real jewel to the world" and "one of my favourite people". Much to the surprise of secret service agents Prince Philip decided to drive the couple to the entrance. Mr Obama said: "I have to say I have never been driven by a Duke of Edinburgh before, and I can report it was very smooth riding." What does one give the Queen for her 90th birthday? The Obamas gave Her Majesty a photo album of her visits with US presidents and First Ladies. Her Majesty has met twelve presidents during her lifetime; it's a topic we covered in-depth over at The Royal Digest a couple of years ago. The Queen wore a pale blue skirt skirt, while Mrs Obama chose a dress by one her favourite designers, Oscar de la Renta. For those following the visit, the Telegraph has an excellent article on key points and the history of the relationship between the UK and US: 'In 1939, President Franklin D Roosevelt offered a toast to King George VI in the White House. “I am persuaded that the greatest single contribution our two countries have been enabled to make to civilisation, and to the welfare of peoples throughout the world,” he said, “is the example we have jointly set by our manner of conducting relations between our two nations.” Nearly 80 years later, the United Kingdom remains a friend and ally to the United States like no other. Our special relationship was forged as we spilt blood together on the battlefield. It was fortified as we built and sustained the architecture for advancing stability and prosperity in Europe, and our democratic values around the globe.' Back to tonight, the Duchess chose the L.K. Bennett 'Addison' dress for the dinner. The £325 dress features a jewel-toned print, transparent sleeves and ankle-grazing length. It's described as: "Ideal for events both formal and casual, timeless in its style and fashion forward in its execution." It's available in very limited sizing on the UK and US websites. L.K. Bennett The print. L.K. Bennett Upon seeing the first image from this evening, I thought the dress had a very familiar feel to it; the Addison bears similarities to the L.K. Bennett 'Madison' dress Kate wore for a private dinner at Berry Bros & Rudd last August. L.K. Bennett Coincidentally L.K. Bennett just released the Madison dress in a feminine pink print. It's a beautiful, flowing dress. L.K. Bennett Kate added her own navy belt. Several eagle-eyed readers noted it appears to be the same belt she wore with her Glamorous Maxi Dress in India. A side by side comparison. The Duchess teamed the dress with her navy suede Rupert Sanderson Malory Pumps. Rupert Sanderson The amazing Anna instantly recognised Kate's jewellery as the G. Collins & Sons tanzanite and diamond earrings and pendant. Kate wore the earrings and pendant for for a service of commemoration to mark the end of combat operations in Afghanistan at St Paul's Cathedral, London in March last year. Below we see the Tanzanite and Diamond Pendant at G. Collins & Sons. The pear shaped pendant retailed for £8,400. Moving on to George's adorable personalised bathrobe. Trisha and Anna identified it as the Personalised Cotton Robe by My 1st Years. The robe comes in an array of colours and is available to pre-order for £27 here. George also wore the Little Boston Plane Slippers from Trotters. There's an arrival video available on YouTube. ************ Also today, Prince William carried out investitures at Buckingham Palace. He gave an MBE to Julia Samuel, a dear friend of the late Princess Diana's and Prince George's godmother. Mrs Samuel - a psychotherapist and counsellor who founded Child Bereavement UK of which William is patron - said: "It felt very different because it was recognition for the whole organisation. So I felt a bit shaky. Being in the palace, it's the whole system and tradition and pageantry. It's very moving." Below we see Julia Samuel with her family outside the Palace. I couldn't help but notice she was wearing her chic red lace dress from George's christening. William also presented a CBE to actress Imelda Staunton. Afterwards she said: "We did have a nice chat about what I do and that their children listen to me because I've done all of the Julia Donaldson books, The Gruffalo and ten or twelve others, and they listen to them in the car so they know my voice." The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began their two-day 'mini-tour' of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly this morning. Over the visit, William and Kate are focusing on mental health, a range of local charities, local businesses, and there will be a number of engagements with Duchy of Cornwall projects. The highly-anticipated trip is William and Kate's first official visit to the scenic part of South West England since their wedding. Speaking about the purpose of the visit, a spokesman for Kensington Palace said "they will learn more about the industries that operate in the isles, particularly the tourism industry and the Scilly flower trade, and hear from local people about their life and culture". Kensington Palace shared this beautiful photo from Cornwall with the caption: "Lovely day in Cornwall to mark the start of a two-day visit by the Duke and Duchess." The Cambridges spent today in Cornwall, kicking off their visit in Truro, Cornwall's only city. The couple visited Truro Cathedral where they met civic dignitaries and cathedral represntatives. The Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Truro was built between 1880 and 1910 to a Gothic Revival design by John Loughborough Pearson on the site of the parish church of St Mary. It is one of only three cathedrals in the United Kingdom with three spires. Pearson's design combines the Early English style with certain French characteristics, chiefly spires and rose windows. The Royal Maundy Service was held in the cathedral in 1994 when the Queen presented 134 Cornish people with the traditional Maundy money. Whilst there, William and Kate signed a slate in support of the cathedral's roof appeal. Last year, Truro Cathedral's roof appeal launched. Sign-A-Slate offers those making a donation to the appeal the chance to sign or write a message on the back of one of the 60,000 new slates being used to re-slate the cathedral roof – one that will be in place, complete with those messages, for generations to come. There are three levels at which you can participate. For a donation of £5 you have the opportunity to sign or write on one-sixth of a shared slate. For a £25 donation an entire slate becomes your canvas, upon which you can write and draw. Lastly, for a £250 donation, you can enjoy an extra special VIP signing experience as you and up to three of your family and friends write on your slate at an invitation-only drinks reception. Truro Roof Appeal William and Kate chatted to locals who had gathered to meet them. More from People: Prince William gave royal fan Linda Moore, 62, a sweet surprise on Thursday in Cornwall. "I asked him, 'Can I have a kiss?' " Moore told reporters outside the historic Truro Cathedral. "He said, 'You can give me a peck on the cheek.' " When she asked if she could have a hug too, William replied: "Oh, go then," and posed for a picture before joking to Kate, "Watch that woman, she's collecting kisses!' Moore, a retired teaching assistant from Camborne, Cornwall, told William she had met his late mother Princess Diana about 25 years ago in nearby Redruth. "I said to him, 'You look like your mum,' and he said, 'I think my mum was better looking. "He's lovely. I've just got to meet Harry now. Then I've met all of them. I met the Queen in Camborne." The next two engagements of the day were embargoed for security reasons. The first of which saw the Cambridges visit Zebs, a Truro-based youth centre operated by Young People Cornwall. Young People Cornwall have been successfully working with 11 to 25-year-olds for almost 40 years, encouraging thousands of young people to reach their potential. Set up in 1974 to help youth groups across the county, they've grown in size and scope since they started, but their ambition and drive stays the same. Describing their ethos: "We’re all about making waves. Giving young people a voice, building their confidence, boosting their creativity and opening doors to a brighter future – all in a way that works for them." Zebs credits its success to "giving young people the freedom to do what they want, when they want to. A safe, encouraging space to hang out with opportunities to explore and discover, young people feel comfortable and confident to grow and develop, ready to seek support and advice when they need it". From creating music in the recording studio, to learning how to take better photos, these activities focus is on boosting creative opportunities for young people and inspiring them to see where they can take it. There are also regular information and support groups covering all the issues that affect young people, from open sessions to single-gender groups, to one-on-one advice and support. They also had the opportunity to meet young people who avail of the centre's services. William and Kate discussed taking time to work out the right career path. More from the Mail Online: 'And while chatting to youngsters, Prince William opened up about how it took him an 'awfully long time' to know what he wanted to do in life. After they heard about a programme which helps young people build their CVs and encourages them in career opportunities, Kate asked: 'Do any of you know what you would love to be? Do you have some aspirations?' William, also 34, cut in: 'It is totally cool not to have that by the way. It took me an awfully long time to work out what I wanted to be.' Kate agreed: 'It's so difficult because there's so much out there. It is hard, isn't it, to pinpoint one thing. William is right. I found it difficult as well.' William and Kate toured the centre's facilities including the youth café and recording studios before unveiling a plaque. The Duchess was presented with flowers as a thank you for visiting Zebs. Before leaving, the Duke and Duchess posed for a photo. From there, William and Kate visited a successful local business - Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm. The business is very much a family one. Kay and David launched Healeys Cyder Farm in 1986 after previously running an off-licence in Mevagissey (where they learnt how popular Cornish cyder is) and a small-holding near St Austell. There was no water or electricity when they moved in with Sam and Joe, their two very young sons, and the 150-year-old property was in a dreadful state. Undeterred, they set about planting orchards, renovating buildings and creating a visitor attraction that has since provided huge entertainment for millions of people in almost three decades. They’ve also turned their fruit into world-beating drinks, jams and juices, built Cornwall’s first distillery in 300 years and produce England’s oldest whiskey. William and Kate toured the facility and met staff who work on the site. Whilst trying apple juice, William joked: "Where's the alcoholic stuff?" Kate pulled a pint of cider and handed it to William, who said: "I'll fall over if I drink that." To celebrate Healey's 30th anniversary the royals unveiled a plaque. The Duchess put paid to rumours she's allergic to horses by stroking a shire horse named 'Duchess'. William and Kate travelled to Newquay to visit two Duchy of Cornwall projects, the first of which is Nansledan, a 218-hectare site that will provide future business and housing for the local area. They then visited the recently finished Tregunnel Hill project, a new neighbourhood development on Duchy of Cornwall-owned land that was completed in 2015. Finally, the Duke and Duchess were given an introduction to the work of the Wave Project on Newquay's Towan Beach, an organisation that uses surfing as a tool to reduce anxiety in children and improve their mental wellbeing. The Wave Project has developed an award-winning intervention that uses local surfers to help young people reduce anxiety and improve their emotional health. New projects have been set up all over the UK, including in Wales, Scotland, and even inner-city London. All of these projects use the same methods employed on the original pilot scheme in Cornwall – getting local surfers to work with clients and teach them to surf. The sessions are delivered by a mix of paid staff and volunteer surf-mentors who work in partnership with established surf schools. Some of the surf mentors started out as clients themselves. A lovely photo of William and Kate. The Duchess chats with a little boy. Prince William met a group of excited children. The royals asked children about how the project has helped them. Can you spot the royals in the crowd? :) Posing for photos with staff and children involved with the Wave Project. The Duke and Duchess received a fantastic welcome and by all accounts appeared to have an excellent day. The Duchess debuted a new dress by American designer Lela Rose (with thanks to Kate's Closet). The Double Faced Twill Elbow Sleeve Dress features body contouring seams with band at waist, a fit-and-flare silhouette with soft pleated skirt and a back zip. The blush dress is from the Resort 2016 Collection and originally retailed for $1,295 - it is currently on sale for $777 on Lela Rose's website. It's also available in limited sizing at Orchard Mile. Lela Rose The half-sleeve, fit-and-flare silhouette is popular across Lela Rose's collections. Below we see a similar dress available at Neiman Marcus reduced from $1,095 to $481. Lela Rose We first saw Kate wearing Lela Rose for a reception in Canberra during the 2014 tour. The Duchess selected the brand's Circle Lace Trim Dress for the evening. The Duchess teamed the dress with her Monsoon Fleur wedges. Monsoon Kate accessorised with her trusty L.K. Bennett Natalie Clutch. L.K. Bennett And her very pretty Kiki McDonough Morganite Cushion Drops. The £3,400 earrings are described as "a subtle and very pretty pale pink morganite cushion drop on an elegant 18ct white gold and diamond tapered hoop". Kiki McDonough Kate completed the look with her favourite Cartier Ballon Bleu watch. Cartier You can view videos from the day here and here. William and Kate will spend the night at a manner house tonight. Richard Palmer reports "They marked their first official tour of the 53,000 hectare royal property empire that William will one day inherit from his father as Prince of Wales by booking into Restormel Manor, a 500-year-old nine-bedroom historic house in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, owned by the Duchy. The house, which costs up to £6,250 per week for tourists to rent at this time of year and sleeps 18, stands at the head of the Fowey Valley in beautiful countryside overlooked by Restormel Castle. William and Kate will check in with an entourage of six after a day of engagements in Truro and Newquay." It looks like a very relaxing place - it's very apt known as a 'perfect retreat'. Duchy of Cornwall The royal couple have a busy day ahead with several engagements on the Isles of Scilly. We'll see you tomorrow! :)
The Duke of Cambridge had his wife in fits of giggles today as the pair wrapped up their tour of the Scilly Isles with a windswept boat trip to St Martins.
It was a change of clothes for the Duchess before she and William travelled to Carcross for the second leg of the day. The Duke and Duchess received an elder blessing, and experienced a display of song and a welcome dance by the Dakhká Khwáan Dancers. The royals clearly enjoyed the ceremony very much. Kensington Palace posted this beautiful photo - the Duke and Duchess will be visitng the "stunning Carcross Commons and Montana Mountain". A little background on Carcross: Caribou Crossing was a fishing and hunting camp for Inland Tlingit and Tagish people. 4,500-year-old artifacts from First Nations people living in the area have been found in the region. Caribou Crossing was named after the migration of huge numbers of caribou over the natural land bridge between Lake Bennett and Nares Lake. That caribou herd was depleted during the Klondike Gold Rush, but a recovery program raised the number of animals to about 450. The modern village began in 1896, during the Klondike Gold Rush. At the time, Caribou Crossing was a popular stopping place for prospectors going to and from the gold fields of Dawson City. Caribou Crossing was also a station for the Royal Mail and the Dominion Telegraph Line, and it served as a communications point on the Yukon River. The small town is home to less than 300 people. Kate was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers as they walked through the town. Embed from Getty Images William and Kate were given a totem pole to take home. Prince William showcases his artistic skills. Emily Nash reports "William and Kate climb out of the cab of a steam train on the White Pass and Yukon Route in Carcross. It was an unplanned stop but the Duke couldn't resist climbing on board and each had a go at blowing the steam whistle! The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh travelled in one of the carriages during their 1959 visit to Yukon. Choo choo!" The children of Carcross Commons showed off their new playground. The Duchess meets local schoolgirl Okasana Baerg. Embed from Getty Images At Montana Mountain, the Duke and Duchess received hugs from locals. This is one of my favourite photos of the tour thus far; it's such a lovely picture depicting how warmly William and Kate have been received across British Columbia and Yukon. More from the Daily Express: 'Gwen Wally, 48, from the Carcross Tagish First Nation shouted out to Prince William, interrupting as he and Kate were chatting to her son, Shane Wally. "I love you. I loved your mum. I've been watching you since you were little," she shouted."Is that your mother?" William asked, laughing. "That is my mother," Shane, 26, said slightly awkwardly. "I was pretty nervous but also pretty proud. She is their biggest fan," he said after talking to the couple about a mountain bike trail scheme his family helped to set up at Montana Mountain in Carcross, Yukon, in northern Canada. William and Kate walked across to a group of parents and grandparents involved in the project, including Mrs Wally. They hugged her and another member of the Carcross First Nation band, Susan James. Mrs Wally told the royal couple: "You just made the top of my bucket list. I've been following you since the days of Diana." She told Kate she had made some slippers for Prince George and Princess Charlotte but had been told she could not give then to the couple so planned to post them instead. "I'll look out for them," Kate said.' The Duke and Duchess met young riders. Embed from Getty Images Montana Mountain really is breathtaking! The Duchess championed Canadian brands for her second ensemble of the day. The brand confirmed Kate wore their Ribbed Sleeves Wrapped Coat - it has now been renamed the 'Kate Coat'. Sentaler The $920 'gull' coloured coat is described: "This double-faced superfine alpaca wrap coat has the Sentaler signature ribbed detail on sleeves. It is the perfect statement piece." The coat features a belted waist, shawl collar, two slit pockets at front and Sentaler signature ribbed detail on full sleeves. Kate's choice of Canadian designer Sentaler will come as no surprise to many of you who suggested the brand for Kate in our 'Choose Your Dream Tour Look for Kate' posts. In fact reader 'Sonshine' actually predicted the exact coat in pink. Sonshine/Dream Tour Looks Post The Duchess donned a pair of brown cowgirl boots. They are the R. The $95 Ulu earrings are available to pre-order on Shelley's Etsy Page - her designs are inspired by nature and handmade. Kate's Closet spoke with a representative for the brand who revealed the earrings were for sale in a store in Whitehorse and must have been purchased by Kate or a member of her team. A product shot of the earrings. Shelley MacDonald Tomorrow promises to be a particularly exciting day - George and Charlotte will accompany their parents for a children's party at Government House. It's scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The penultimate day of the Cambridges' royal tour of British Columbia and Yukon saw the Duke and Duchess travel to Haida Gwaii for a variety of engagements. The couple paddled in a Haida war canoe from Skidegate landing. They were accompanied by a team of Haida warrior paddlers, elders and drummers. They were welcomed by representatives of the Haida Nation. William and Kate were given raven's tail scarves - a sign of wealth in the Haida community. It was a beautiful day. Haida Gwaii, formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands, is an archipelago located off the northwest coast of British Columbia. It is the ancestral home of the Haida Nation. The breathtaking natural beauty and Argillite carvings, totem poles and ancient Haida villages encourage visitors from all over the world to learn more about Indigenous culture and environmental stewardship. Haida Gwaii means 'Islands of the people'. The Duke and Duchess experienced a Haida prayer, and a song and dance performance with representatives of the Haida Nation during the welcoming ceremony at the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum. An overview of the ceremony. More from the Mail Online: 'They sat entranced as they watched several displays including a woman's dance in honour of their daughter Charlotte - the Haida are a matriarchal society - and a man's in honour of George. Kate was also left giggling after a dance to represent the Haida people's relationship with the animal and spirit worlds. 'He's looking for a princess,' said the narrator cheekily, as a man hopped around with a wooden mask in the shape of a frog. William also gave a short address - ironically his Haida was better than the French he spoke earlier in the week. He said: 'Women of High Esteem, Chiefs, Friends, Aan t'alang isis ska-wada-gee id ga dalang kil laa, haaw - thank you very much for having us here.' The royals experienced a celebration of the past, present and future of Haida art and culture. The Haida Heritage Centre at Ḵay Llnagaay is an award-winning Aboriginal cultural tourism attraction located on Haida Gwaii on British Columbia’s Northwest coast. Through the Ḵay Llnagaay Heritage Centre the living culture of the Haida people is celebrated through language, art and stories. Next, the Duke and Duchess visited the new Haidi Gwaii General Hospital in Queen Charlotte. The replacement hospital will enable Northern Health clinicians and staff to continue to deliver client-focused health care services in a modern environment that will improve outcomes for patients. They heard from new mums how the new hospital means they can stay on Haida Gwaii to give birth. The Duke and Duchess visited the long-term care wing, where they meet residents in the common room. The couple unveiled a plaque marking the completion of the new hospital. The Duchess looked excited as the couple approached the next leg of the day - a boat ride and fishing. The couple took a boat ride on the Highlander Ranger from the Queen Charlotte boat launch. Kate looked a little squeamish as she picked up a freshly caught fish. The army green blazer features peak lapels, long sleeves with button cuffs, front button closure, chest and waist welt pockets. It retails for $595 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Saks Fifth Avenue I thought it a fitting choice for Kate to choose a new blazer by the Canadian brand. The Duchess wore their navy One Button Blazer during the 2011 royal tour of Canada and it's been a firm fixture in her wardrobe ever since - often paired with skinny jeans and wedges. I expect we'll see the new green one in the future too. Kate's blouse is the Somerset by Alice Temperley Spot Pretty Blouse in ivory (with thanks to Kate's Closet and Kate Middleton Style). John Lewis For the boat ride, Kate changed into the Really Wild Clothing Cashmere Mix Cable Crew Sweater in ruby. The £195 sweater is described as "This relaxed fit jumper is a modern way to wear Really Wilds beautiful knitwear. With a stylish cable knit detail and thick ribbed collar detail". Really Wild Clothing When William and Kate went fishing the Duchess put on a parka by Troy London. It looks like Kate wore their £350 Wax Parka. It's described: "A fresh take on our bestseller, this new lightweight coat is made from 100% cotton milled in England with a dry wax finish. A black sports-luxe lining provides 100% waterproof protection and brings an urban appeal to this casual but elegant coat with a cinched waist and drawstring hood." The brand offers a free monogramming service to personalise the pocket of your wax pocket. Troy London What Would Kate Do noted the Norfolk-based brand is run by sisters Rosie and Lucia Ruck Keene. Rosie is married to William van Cutsem, and the couple were married with the Duke and Duchess as guests in 2013. William van Cutsem was chosen as one of Prince George's godparents later the same year. What Would Kate Do Middleton Maven identified Kate's jeans as the ZARA Skinny Mid-Rise Trousers. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge concluded their tour of India and Bhutan with one of the most anticipated and discussed events of the tour - a visit to India's iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal. The Palace described it as a "fitting location for the Duke and Duchess to say thank you for the generosity and warmth that has been extended to Their Royal Highnesses throughout the tour. The Taj Mahal is one of the symbols of India". Of course, there's another symbolic and deeply personal side to the visit for Prince William. In 1992, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana toured India and iconic images of Diana posing alone at the Taj Mahal would become enduring images of the collapse of their marriage. When asked how she found the visit, Diana said at the time "very healing", when asked to elaborate she replied: "Work it out for yourself." Twelve years earlier Prince Charles visited the monument and promised to return some day with his bride. Months after their joint visit the couple officially separated. The question on everyone's mind today: would the Cambridges sit on the same marble bench in front of the Taj Mahal as Diana? The media were told the couple did not make their mind up until they arrived, but then decided to sit on the 'Diana bench' and thus created iconic shots. The couple posed for photos. A beautiful photo. Kensington Palace continued: "The Duke of Cambridge is of course aware of the huge esteem his mother, the late Princess of Wales, is held in India and he appreciates the iconic status of the images that exist of the Princess at the Taj. He feels incredibly lucky to visit a place where his mother’s memory is kept alive by so many who travel there, 24 years on from her visit to the Taj." It was undoubtedly a special opportunity for William to retrace his mother's footsteps and as the Palace said "make new memories" with his wife by his side. After posing for photos, William and Kate privately toured the building. The Duchess was fascinated by the romantic story behind the building. More from the Mail Online: 'Tour guide Rizwan Mohammed, 35, said he wished them a happy 5th wedding anniversary for the 29th April, adding : 'They were shocked that I know about it, but you know the internet. But then she said this is the perfect thing to do before their wedding anniversary. She was quite happy about it.' Asked if it was a 'romantic day for them', he said 'absolutely'. They were fascinated 'by the story of the king and the queen' and the love that made him build the monument to her. And Kate got 'quite emotional' when she came to know that the Queen died at the very young age of 39. 'She said 'she really deserves this kind of building as they were madly in love with each other.' Mr Mohammed added: 'They were down to earth, very casual. They were so, so easy to talk with them. For me, I was quite nervous but they were very normal, down to earth. Specifically the duchess, she was very enthusiastic about how this was built, She was asking about the inscriptions and what they mean. They were quite fascinated how it was done four centuries back, especially the lady. She was quite fascinated about the skills of those people and did they do it without using any modern tools and techniques.' The Duke and Duchess signed the visitors book. As they came out William was asked: 'What has today's visit meant to you?' to which he replied 'It's a beautiful place, stunning designs in there. Kate added: 'It's been really incredible to learn about the romance of the building and really beautiful architecture'. It was a scorching hot day in the Agra. A look at the media covering the visit. This photo offers a good sense of the scope of the media presence. William and Kate travelled to the Taj Mahal in an environmentally-friendly, non-polluting, battery-operated vehicle. The history of the landmark, known as the 'monument of love' is a fascinating one. The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 42-acre complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a crenellated walls. The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". Described by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore as "the tear-drop on the cheek of time", it is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts seven to eight million visitors a year. The interior design is incredibly intricate and detailed. The Cambridges have received an enormously warm reception at every stop along the way. Agra was no exception... Kensington Palace "TRH want to say thank you to the people of India for their hospitality and warmth. The tour has been a huge success in deepening the UK relationship with the people of India. Kate chose a dress by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan for the event. The blue and white sheath dress is from the designer's Resort 2015 Collection and features beautiful embroidery. Kate's wearing the style shown below with minor alterations. You'll notice Kate's dress has been lengthened. More from The Telegraph on the designer's reaction to learning Kate wore his dress: “This is my happiest morning. My son got married last night and The Duchess of Cambridge wears Naeem Khan in India. I am in Heaven.” He said he had provided Kate’s team with three possibilities when they contacted him several months ago but wasn’t told for sure The Duchess would wear his designs.' Naeem Khan was one of the talented designer we look at in our 'Tour Designer Possibilities' posts. Born in Mumbai, the designer's hugely successful label was launched in 2003. Based in New York, his clients include First Lady Michelle Obama, Queen Noor of Jordan and Beyoncé. Known for delicate hand-beading, rich embroideries and gorgeous vibrant colour, I was very much hoping Kate would choose one of his designs. Kate wore the pretty blue £6 earrings she purchased during her hike to Tiger's Nest yesterday. I thought it a lovely combination - a dress by a Mumbai-born designer with earrings from Bhutan. A look at Kate wearing the earrings. Kate wore her L.K. Bennett Fern pumps. L.K. Bennett Kate wore her Ray Ban sunglasses. You can watch a video at ITN Source and YouTube. William and Kate will enjoy dinner at a local hotel before flying back to the UK. I'm sure they cannot wait to see George and Charlotte. As the tour draws to a close, it feels the perfect time to say an enormous and heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited the blog and commented throughout the tour. It's been such fun covering the events and seeing your reactions. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the events, the quotes, Kate's style, seeing the locations, the culture and views from both countries - it was amazing! I would also like to mention the press pack who so generously shared photos, videos, information and so much more over the last week. Those on the ground shared invaluable insight. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began their two-day 'mini-tour' of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly this morning. :)
In an emotional encounter at a hospice in Luton, William rested his hand on Ben Hines's shoulder and told him: 'Time makes it easier.'
William and Kate enjoyed a spot of fishing. The Duke and Duchess take a look at crabs. The Duchess appeared to be having a great time. A beautiful photo of Kate. Rebecca English posted this video on Twitter. Video: The royals have gone fishing....#HaidaGwaii #RoyalVisitCanada pic.twitter.com/2LXKpiSFEm — Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) September 30, 2016 The Duchess debuted a smart new Smythe blazer today. It very much looks like Kate wore the (aply named) Wool Duchess Blazer (with thanks to Kate Middleton Style and What Kate Wore). John Lewis The chic £79 design is crafted in a lightweight and semi-sheer material. This blouse has an all-over textured spot design, lace insert detailing around the bib and at the cuffs, pleating around the short placket, and a flouncy bow around the neck. It's available at John Lewis. John Lewis The blouse also comes in black. It's an elegant piece which can be dressed up or down. The khaki trousers retail for £26 and come in several colours. Kate selected her new £295 R. Soles Virgi Cholocate Suede Boots. R.Soles The Duchess accessorised with her Kiki McDonough Citrine Pear-Drop earrings. Kiki McDonough And her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch. Cartier Kate's wore a plaited Alice band for the majority of the day (it's thought to be a band as Kate changed into her leopard print alice band when they went fishing). It's a very fresh, youthful look for the Duchess. We leave you with this great photo from the day. Tomorrow's Itinerary: 10:10 a.m. - Charity visits in the morning beginning with the Cridge Centre for the Family. 10:55 a.m. - An engagement with the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre at a local cafe. 11:45 a.m. - Then they will board a tall-ship operated by the Sail and Life Training Society, a charity that uses the power of sailing to give young people skills and direction in their lives. 3:50 p.m. - Official departure from Victoria's Inner Harbour by float plane and a private tour of the south end of the island.
