Welcome to the December 2016 Tour de Freaks! We are giddy with excitement over the new Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Bration, both of which start in just 2-1/2 weeks! I'm the first stop on the tour this time, but you might have landed here from Dawn's blog, DOstamping With Dawn. (Aren't her projects to die for?! I may have squealed when I saw them!) To visit all nine stops on the tour, just click the links at the bottom of each blog post. I'm focusing on the Special Reason bundle comprised of the fourteen piece Special Reason stamp set plus the eleven piece Stylish Stems Framelits Dies. Oh my gosh, there are so many ways to use them, and not only do I love the flowers and leaves, but all the sentiments are fabulous, too! STAMPS: Special Reason CARDSTOCK: So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder INK: Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive TOOLS: Big Shot, Stylish Stems Framelits Dies, Celebration T.I.E.F., Sponge Daubers, Sprinkles Embellishments, Fine-Tip Glue Pen On the first card, I inked the larger flower stamp using a sponge dauber so the colors would blend. It was cut with the coordinating Framelit, then the overlay was cut with the Thinlit and Framelit. And the leaves....oh, those lovely leaves! You can stamp a whole leaf and die cut it, or stamp just leaf veins and die cut, and then you can die cut the leafy overlay to top it off or use alone! Notice that "celebrate"? It's embossed, or should I say debossed with one of the Celebrations Duo embossing folders. I inked the raised portion of the folder to add some color to the recessed part! STAMPS: Special Reason, Gorgeous Grunge CARDSTOCK: Shimmery White, Watermelon Wonder, Gold Foil INK: VersaMark, Old Olive TOOLS: Big Shot, Stylish Stems Framelits Dies, Heat Tool, Gold E.P., Sponge Daubers, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Fine-Tip Glue Pen On the next card, I used the smaller flower Thinlits with Gold Foil, then cut it out with the coordinating Framelit die, which I also used on the top layer of the card so the card base would show through. The stem and leaves were reverse masked using the negative of the die-cut stem from the first card. (Like I said - lots of ways to use this bundle!) STAMPS: Special Reason, So Very Much CARDSTOCK: Very Vanilla, Vellum INK: Marina Mist, Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, VersaMark TOOLS: Heat Tool, Copper E.P., Sponge Daubers, Night of Navy Baker's Twine, 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots For the last card, I used the negative of the smaller Thinlit flower to reverse mask using Marina Mist, the flower was stamped with Dapper Denim, and the smaller leaf stamped with Crumb Cake to create a patterned background. The copper embossed (on vellum) "Thank You" is from So Very Much, one of the free Sale-A-Bration products! I love the big, swirly script with the little block print add-ons. That's all from me for now. I have so much more I want to share, so be sure to check back in the coming days and weeks! Up next is the ever-awesome Melissa Davies, over at Rubber FUNatics!

Good morning! As you know, one of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is our coordinating products, stamps, punches, framelits/thinlits, papers, etc. when it is designed to work together it really helps take a lot of the guess work out of crafting for us and now Stampin’ Up! offers some of these coordinating products as bundles so we get to save 15% when we purchase the items that naturally go together (bonus!!) Today over on the SSINKspiration blog we’re sharing projects made with our favorite product bundle items from the Occasions Catalog. There are so many great bundles to choose from but I decided to use the Sunburst Thinlit and coordinating stamp set (one, it’s a recent addition to my studio, and 2, the framelit is currently one of the weekly deal specials so if you didn’t want the stamp set you could purchase just the framelit and save some money this week!!) I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Soft Sky cardstock to mat the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and wrapped a piece of Hello Honey 5/8” Striped Cotton Ribbon around the bottom with a knot. For the main image I used the Big Shot and Sunburst Thinlits Dies and cut a piece of Hello Honey Cardstock. I used the coordinating stamp set, Sunburst Sayings and stamped the dotted lines on the sunburst using Hello Honey ink. Next I took the Square Framelits collection and some Very Vanilla cardstock and used two framelits to create a frame (and rubbed around the frame with a sponge and Crumb Cake ink. Next I took a piece of Soft Sky cardstock for the background of the sunburst and aligned it in my frame the way I wanted and trimmed off the excess. For the center of the sunburst I stamped the greeting also from Sunburst Sayings, using Basic Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, punched it out with the 1 3/8” Circle Punch and sponged around the edge with Soft Sky ink. I used the Circle Collection Framelits and Big Shot to cut a mat for the greeting out of Gold Glimmer Paper and attached both circle pieces to the sunburst with dimensionals (lots of them!!) This card turned out so bright and cheery (but I’ll admit I stamped the dotted lines on the sunburst after I attached the frame, if I had remembered I would have done it before so it was easier. Sometimes you just need to let people know that you’re thinking of them and care and this card is perfect for that! the other design team members are sharing some great cards using their favorite Occasions bundles so make sure to go check them out! Below are easy ordering links for the current products used on today’s card: Have a great day! Diana
On my million dollar achiever's trip to the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT, I got to be a Concept artist for a few moments... well, kind of... they asked me to look over a short list of stamp sets and pick out a set or 2 and make a card they could put on their Occasions Catalog Pinterest Board!! Oh.. and... I had 30 minutes to do it!! :) I selected Picture Perfect and Timeless Textures as the 2 sets, and combined them on this card: It was crazy trying to think of a design, grab the

I think this might be my favorite card I've made in a LONG time! Super tickled at how this one turned out. And it was pretty easy, too! Here's how I did it, plus a fun variation you'll enjoy making as well. It's not as hard as you'd think! You can use any floral stamps and any large word stamp for this card. I used the Sale-A-Bration 2016 stamp set, Botanicals for You. First, lay a Framelit or stencil down and trace your desired shape VERY lightly with a pencil. Then, stamp your largest flower in your boldest color, randomly...

Hello!....Well l'm back from a whirlwind few days in Brisbane for Stampin Up's On-Stage live event and to say l'm just a little excited, overwhelmed and sooo tired is an understatement..:0) It was a fabulous and fun way to spend a few days with some lovely friends. But reality has kicked in and the struggle is real...time to get creating! Our challenge over at Just Add Ink this week is all about these pretty colours! During "Onstage" l received the brand new "Swan Lake" stamp set in prize patrol. And although this is definitely not a set l would normally choose, l thought l would step outside my comfort zone and see if l could come up with something l liked...:0) I stamped, water coloured and sponged all images on some SU Shimmer c/stock and used the fab "New" stitched framelits to create the oval. The sentiment is from another "New" stamp set that we were lucky enough to receive in our check in bags, called "Suite Sentiments"...Loving the versatile sentiments in this set. Both of these sets will be available in the Occasions catalogue on the 4th of January 2017 and will coincide with the release of the fab new Sab products as well. Not that it photographed all that well, but there is a whole lot of Wink of Stella sparkle happening too! I also have another card l made using these colours, to which l have added a "Neutral" Crumbcake, which we do allow in our colour challenges by the way..:0) Don't forget to swing by the challenge blog for some more fab inspiration from the design team. Thanks for stopping by! All supplies used are Stampin Up!
