Card tutorials, craft tips, and Stampin' Up products
It's been a while since I last posted something because I was so busy with Christmas and the grandkids,
I have to say this has been a FUN week. I have really enjoyed the Rose Wonder bundle and I will be using it AGAIN and AGAIN in the future. This is perfect for all flower lovers as well as Spring time which is just around the corner. Today I want to remind everyone that the 2014-2016 IN Colors will be retiring in May. Last year there was a lot of disappointment because the re-inkers for the retiring colors sold out EARLY. So please, if you have not already grabbed these amazingly rich colors please make sure to head on over to the shop to pick your set up so you don't miss out. Here are the Rose Wonder Die cut cards that I made using the 5 IN COLORS. I had a lot of fun making these but even more stacking them like a house of cards. This took talent I tell ya! Some In Color items are already marked down so don't put it off if there is something you can't live without... SHOP ONLINE thank you for stopping by today and for following along with my Rose of Wonder to Die for week! Melanie

Vellum is like a lovely lady who is always the belle of the ball as long as you treat her with respect...she just doesn't like to be tousled. I went on a search in my craft room for a large open line floral image and was elated to find Stampin Up's Rose Wonder, one of my favorite and most versatile stamp sets. The bonus is this set has matching die cuts. I was so happy not to have to stamp and emboss my image on the vellum. All I did was glue the beautiful die cut image to the vellum overlay. Lady vellum doesn't like too much heat either! I usually reach for pastels when I color my flowers with Copics but I'm glad I opted for brilliant pinks this time. They show up so beautifully through the vellum. I cut my vellum flap about an inch larger than the front of my card so I could tuck it between the layers and attach it without glue showing. The vibrant colors of my rose were subtle and pretty under the translucent vellum but I wanted to make sure the recipient of my card could lift the vellum to take a peak at the unmasked brightly colored rose underneath ...kinda like two cards in one. This was one of those cards that simply evolved as I created it, and I really like how it turned out. I can't wait to try it in another color...blue maybe? I love, love, love lady vellum. I'm going to see that she gets out more often. I'm adding my card to these challenges: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Stampin' Royalty Freshly Made Sketches The Card Concept Thanks for visiting. Hello My Friends Back at last. A long story - for another time perhaps. But for right now, I just HAD to show you these cards. Pink Rose Blue Rose Coral Rose As soon as I saw the Rose Wonder stamp set, I *knew* I would be using the Floating Re-Inker technique on the image. My only problem is, I cannot decide which colour scheme I prefer? What about you? Do you prefer the: 1) Blues (Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise)? 2) Oranges (Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight)? 3) Pinks (Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder)? We are making this card at club this month and I am having a hard time deciding which version to have my friends make. What is your favourite? Everyone who leaves me a comment will be entered into a draw to win one of these gorgeous cards. So leave your comment below (and also some way for me to contact you if you win......!) And what about you? Do YOU want to join us as a guest at club this month and make one of these jaw-dropping beauties? Come tonight or tomorrow or this weekend....Tues Jan 19 or Wed Jan 20 or Fri Jan 23, all from 7-9 pm at my home in the east end of Ottawa. Happy Wednesday! MAN I'm loving life this week! Nothing pressing on the calendar just chipping away at little things I want to get done in and amongst being Suzie homemaker - cooking, cleaning, baking. Add to that the beautiful winter we've had (I'm back to walking Koda in shoes … with no socks!) and the healthy living I'm into these days and I'm feeling ga-RATE! Another thing on my "to-do" list was to post a tutorial for my Split Negative I created for my Technique Class last month. Ack! I just realized I didn't even post the CARD here yet! Well! Let's rectify THAT right now!! Here is the card ... Isn't it great?? I LOVE how it turned out! So striking. The other thing I love is that it can be used for so many different occasions! Wedding, Birthday, Sympathy … virtually any occasion. My kind of card! It's certainly not a quick card. Easy … but not quick. Here's a photo tutorial for you. Before anything else I started by punching out two roses from the Rose Garden Thinlet set. One in white and one in black. I grabbed a standard Whisper White base and cut two mats - one in black and one in white - both measure 2" x 5 1/4". I used a post-it-note simply to hold the two mats together. This step is certainly not necessary. I just stuck them together with the note, turned the "now-one" mat over just so I could then take my punched out rose and see exactly where I would like it to be placed. In the picture below I'm just showing you what I mean … When the two pieces are stud together I could lay the rose down on top of the mats to make sure it would fit. In the picture below I have picked up the stuck-together mats, pulled off the white one and then, using my paper snips, cut the white rose along the edge of the black mat. I now have my full black rose and a partial white rose. Using my Fine-Tip Glue pen I glued the white part-rose on top of the black rose .. like this ... You now have your two-toned rose. After that you simply assemble. Adhere you black and white mats to your card base, use your fine-tip glue pen to glue the entire rose to the card and then finish as desired ... I used the birthday sentiment that is from then Rose Wonder Stamp set, added some rhinestones, punched the sentiment out with the framelit (Rose Garden framelit), popped it up on dimensionals and wa-low! An awesome card! Great! Another thing off my to-do list! Next up - finalize what cards we're doing at my March 6th Stamp-a-Stack. Oh sure, I have lots already made we COULD use … but I'm craving something new. Stay tuned … and have a stampy day! Tam

#stampinup #faithfulinkspirations Have you ever looked through the Stampin' Up catalog and found a set that you had to have, right this minute? And then you order it and it arrives at your house and you wonder what in the world you were thinking of doing with it? Yeah, me, too! The "Timeless Textures" stamp set was the one calling my name when the last Stampin' Up catalog came out. I didn't get it right away. But it kept calling and calling and finally I got it. And then I never used it because I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I usually have an idea in my mind of a card I want to create as I'm ordering a stamp set, but by the time I got around to actually getting this one, I had NO idea. Pinterest to the rescue! I searched for cards that use this set and I'm sharing one today and one tomorrow that I've CASEd (copy and share everything) from some amazing stampers. Today's card is inspired by UK stamper Julia Jordan. I started with a Very Vanilla panel and stamped one of the textures from the "Timeless Textures" set in Delightful Dijon along the side. Next, I stamped the stem and flowers from one of the designs in the "Wild About Flowers" set in Basic Black Archival Ink. I dried this with my heat tool to make sure the black ink was set before mounting it to a Basic Black mat. I tied a length of Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine at the bottom and adhered it to a Crumb Cake card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the "Rose Wonder" set and is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink. This card came together quickly and I think it makes for an elegant sympathy card. tams# 8291 Product List Wild About Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set [138728] $21.00 Timeless Textures Clear-Mount Stamp Set [140517] $20.00 Rose Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set [140697] $27.00 Delightful Dijon Classic Stampin' Pad [138327] $6.50 Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad [140931] $7.00 Crumb Cake 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [120953] $8.00 Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [121045] $8.00 Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101650] $9.00 Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine [141682] $3.00 Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] $4.00 Heat Tool [129053] $30.00

Good Morning to you. Hopefully I should now be back into more of a routine with my blogging schedule! The next few weeks are pretty busy for me as we enter the final month of Sale-A-Bration 2016. One month left to get your hands on those SAB freebies! Last week I held my last Stamp a Stack at the church hall and this is one of the cards we made. I wanted to show of the Rose Wonder dies and also focus on the In Colours that will leave us in May. Last year these went so so quickly, within the first few minutes of the Retirement List going up so if you have any of the following ink pads I suggest you purchase the Ink Refills ASAP. Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. I was totally inspired by a set of cards from Melanie Smith which you can find on her blog HERE where she made the same card in each of the In Colours that will leave us. The card is very simple to construct but my advice is to use the Precision Base Plate on the Big Shot and also the new Die Brush which makes it so easy to get the bits out! The hardest part is begin careful with the glue as its quite delicate to glee down. Inside got a little decoration too with the flower from the Rose Wonder stamp set. Thank you to all those who used my February Online Code. I will be creating a new code for March tomorrow.
Hello, and happy Tuesday! Today, I am sharing a card I made featuring the Rose Wonder stamp set. This set has a matching die set, but I have never just stamped and colored the flower so today was the day. And since we have some new sweet colors, I had to play with them as well. Here's my card: I first stamped the flower image in Versamark ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I also stamped and embossed another leaf section to obtain more foliage. Next came the fun part- water coloring! I used Blushing Bride ink and Sweet Sugarplum ink to paint the rose, and Mint Macaron ink for the leaves. I still don't like pink, but sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do: stamp set - Rose Wonder; ink - Rose Red, Garden Green; card stock - Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Crumb Cake, Rose Red; designer series paper - Perfectly Artistic (Sale-A-Bration); Big Shot with Rose Garden thinlits The colors are from The Colour Tree Challenge #2 - I've used Bronwyn's inspiration before but it wasn't a challenge then, and you know how much I love a challenge, even if it does include pink.
