Yvonne Annette Emilie Cecil Marie Here is a cut set of Merrill's 1940's Dionne Quints Paper Dolls. The set features all five girls along with outfits, some toys, and hats. They have matching outfits in different colors and some costumes.
Dorothea Vivian Margo Here are three lovely models from the set Cover Girls, Merrill, 1944. It took me a while to identify these ladies, I knew right away they were Merrill. But at first I thought 'boarding school...' nope. Liberty bells? nope. I went through a lot of Merrill sets from the era. Not a complete set, some small tears on the clothing and the dolls have some bends. This is from a larger lot I purchased from Goodwill online stores.

PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASE. This is not a standard pattern and some drafting is required. This is a digital draft-at-home pattern drafting template and scale ruler set to make a lovely and timeless pair of French panties with a waist yoke and optional ruffles at the leg openings. This is a pattern from a French pattern drafting system fairly similar to the Lutterloh golden rule patterns. You will be able to draft a pattern to your exact size from the miniature pattern template and specially designed rulers. To draft any of these special patterns to doll, children, and adult sizes is easy. Rulers are available to draft the pattern as small as a 5 1/2" chest to as large as a 60" chest and the pattern will be scaled perfectly every time. ALL RULERS ARE INCLUDED AS PRINTABLES WITH THESE PATTERNS. Don't have a printer? Not a problem! We offer a printing service for these patterns here: www.etsy.com/listing/196872505 The pattern includes basic markings and notches that show you how they fit together, and indications such as dotted lines for cutting on the fold. I have included several pages of drafting instructions that I have translated from the original French personally. The illustrated instructions show you how to easily draw your pattern pieces from the miniature pattern template using your special ruler. These patterns were marketed originally to both home seamstresses and professionals alike and assume that you have a basic understanding of clothing construction. The original patterns DO NOT include any sewing instructions. To sew these, you should have a basic understanding of how pattern pieces should fit together. The pattern pieces are illustrated in such a way that you can see how they are supposed to be sewn to each other. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: These patterns might be a bit difficult for the beginner but an intermediate level home seamstress will most likely have little trouble. For a complete tutorial on drafting your pattern including photos, check out this blog post: http://afewthreadsloose.blogspot.no/2013/01/draft-at-home-patterns-how-to.html QUESTIONS? Pencil Fabric: this pattern requires approximately 1 meter (about 1 yard). It's that simple! No special tools are required! Millions of Americans yearn for a lost sense of community, for the days when neighbors looked out for one another and families were stable and secure. The 1950s are regarded as the golden age of community, but 1960s rebellion and 1980s nostalgia have blurred our view of what life was really like back then.In The Lost City, Alan Ehrenhalt cuts through the fog, immersing us in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of life in America forty years ago. He takes us down the streets and into the homes, schools, and shops of three neighborhoods in one quintessentially American city: Chicago. In St. Nicholas of Tolentine parish on the Southwest Side, we see how the local Catholic church served as the moral and social center of community life. In Bronzeville, the heart of the black South Side, we meet the civic leaders who offered hope and role models to people hemmed in by poverty and segregation. And in Elmhurst, a commuter suburb bursting with new subdivisions, we witness the culture of middle-class conformity and the ways in which children and adults bent to the rules of the majority culture.Through evocative stories and incisive analysis, Ehrenhalt shows that the glue holding each neighborhood together was an unstated social compact under which people accepted limits in their lives and deferred to authority figures to enforce those limits--a compact destroyed by the baby boomers' rejection of authority in the 1960s. Since that time, an entire generation has come to believe that personal choice is the most important of life's values. But Ehrenhalt argues that if we truly wish to balance the demands of modern life with a feeling of community, we have a great deal to learn from the \"limited\" life of the 1950s. The Lost City reveals the price we must pay to restore community in our lives today and the values that will make such a restoration possible.
