Many letters were found by historians. Some of them were monograms of the names of saints, such as M, and some spelled out several letters in their form. They were worn openly on headdresses, clothes and on belts, often composing whole words or incantations. There are many documented examples of this. Sometimes it went further and clothes were decorated with letters as magical amulets - rather than as a reading test. 1) Medieval badge letter "R". It is assumed that the letters R and A were closely related and served as medieval badges of loyalty. In particular, because initially both letters were crowned. Most of these crowns on the letters should be considered as strengthening elements, providing overall additional protection by eating elements. This practice was spread among the Canterbury Badges.
