I posted this card back in December 2011. I have been asked several times what the measurements are for the layers on this card.. however I had gifted the card to a fellow stamper and didn't have it anymore.. this past weekend I sat down and remade the card based off the picture of it on my blog.. it took me two attempts.. the first one the red embossed layer wasn't long enough. Below is my scribbled notes on the paper that I wrote as I worked on the card. Measurements are: Kraft card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half strip with Christmas Blessings sentiment stamped on it and layers: white: 2" x 4 1/4" black: 2 1/8" x 4 1/4" red... this layer is punched with a scallop on the bottom.. after punching I measured it to be 2 3/8" x 4 1/4" red embossed panel and layers are: red embossed pieced: 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" white: 2 3/8" x 3 7/8" black: 2 1/2" x 4" Santa layer: Stamp is from Delta and is called Santa Collage. I found mine at Michael's but I have seen it at Hobby Lobby as well. Santa: 2 1/8" x 3 1/8" I cut then stamp red: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" black: 2 3/8" x 3 3/8" I hope I got them all right.. as I wrote them down. I put everything in an image that you should be able to print out.. I've never done this before, so I hope it works right. SUPPLIES: card stock: kraft, white, black, red stamps: Delta Rubber Stampede Santa Collage (Hobby Lobby carries this at the moment both online and in their stores), Christmas Blessings sentiment from a Hero Arts Greatest Gift stamp set ink: Ranger Archival Sepia and Versafine Black accessories: Scor-Pal, SU Pick A Petal Embossing Folder, SU Scallop Border Punch, Hole Punch, White Brads and Foam Tape thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! When I took my daughter to the clinic the other day to get her wrist checked I ran into a lady who is a member of a spouses club here on post that I also belong to. She asked me how much I charged for my cards and I told her that I usually never sell them.. I send them away to deployed military. She asked me if I could make an anniversary card for her. It is for her husband who is in Afghanistan.. it is for their 11th anniversary.. how could I say no. Here is the card I finished a little bit ago.. she said roses were fine.. she just wanted Dallas Cowboys colors because her husband is a huge fan. What do you think of it? For this card I used: card stock: Stampin' UP! White, Night of Navy, Brushed Silver, Watercolor Paper stamp set: Stampin' UP! Fifth Avenue Floral inks: Versamark, black, Night of Navy, Night of Navy Reinker acces: Clear embossing powder, heat gun, Nestabilities leaves die, Bigkick, Stampin' UP! embossing folder (rose and textured), Stampin' UP! Hello~! Thanks for stopping by. I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the Can You Case It Sketch Challenge #112. I am also Guest Designing for TupeloDesignsLLC for two months and am excited to share this post. I pulled out a super fun set by My Favorite Things called "You're Super" ~ and what a super set it is! This post has a LOT of pictures ~ I wanted to show how I colored up the girl image with my Copic Markers. I am no Copic expert, but do enjoy coloring with them. I stamped the image using Memento Black Ink onto some #110 Neenah card stock. ........ here we go! Color face and hands with E00. Feather in from sides of face using E11. Blend colors using E00. Color some circles on cheeks with R20. Smooth colors with E00. Color some hair using YR23. Add some E99 over the YR23 *I noticed that I took the picture before coloring the hair on both sides. Then take the YR23 to color in the white areas and blend the colors. *I used four colors of red on the cape, you could use three. Color some R05, then R24, then R29 and lastly R59. then work backwards coloring the colors out a little more for each and then blending the colors. Color some B21 in some areas of the dress. Add a little B37. I then blended it with B34 Leggings: Coloring on in corners and inside leggings with B21. Add some B34 over it. Add some B37 over colors. then work backwards bringing the area colored out more with each color. Boots: Color on some R05. **2nd and 3rd pics should be swapped around. Add some R29, then R59. Then work backwards to blend colors and fill area. Boot tops: Color some Y23 on sides of boot topper. Add Y28 over it, then use Y23 to blend colors across top. After coloring up the image I die-cut her out. The die is solid so I first cut it of a piece of scrap paper, then laid the negative image (I cut a slit up to the opening to make it easier to remove once the die is laid in it) over my stamped image, fit the die in the space, carefully remove the scrap paper and used scotch tape to keep die in place while I die-cut it out. *note I forgot to take the picture of the negative over the stamped image, but took the picture afterwards. I have missed doing the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenges.. I print them off each week, but never can seem to get myself to making something.. time gets away from me as usual. This week however, I wanted to make something after making so many of the same cards (161 S.A.W. Welcome Home Cards) .. I already had the adorable Pure Innocence image already colored, so it went together rather quickly. here's my card: This week's MFTWSC143 Sketch: Supplies: card stock: Kraft, Navy Blue, White, MME Pattern Paper stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Make a Wish, sentiment from MFT More Essential Greetings ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Asst. Today I thought I'd get caught up in posting some cards I recently made... last week to be exact. I have been so busy with this, that and the other that I haven't had a chance to post them. This card uses some papers I was gifted last year.. I paired the papers with some card stock a while back, but hadn't had a chance to use them until this past week and I grabbed it to use it on this card. I used some MFT products.. the sentiment is MFT and the flower and button dies, the ovals as well, are MFT Die-namics. I used SCS Sketch 413 on this card: **I left the papers downstairs, so I'll have to add the paper line at another time. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I am keeping up with all of the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenges so far.. yeah me!! I pulled out my Sn@p Color Vibe 1 paper pad and used some of the blue papers for this card. I recently started participating in the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenges. This week is Sketch Challenge #92. I used this week's sketch for this card. I stamped, colored and cut out this sweet Pure Innocence MFT "I Love You This Big" image. I had a lot of fun making this card. Here is the sketch that I used: supplies: card stock: Night of Navy, White, More Mustard pattern paper: My Mind's Eye Lime Twist stamps: MFT Pure Innocence I Love You This Big ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, asst. copic markers accessories: Nestabilities dies, hole punch, brads, Spellbinders embossing folder, photo corner punch, and Dimensionals!!!! thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! I got a package of goodies today from StampersBest... I got a couple of gifts (thank you Susan) and the sentiment in the lower right corner was gifted to me yesterday by a friend who I had loaned a stamp/punch to. She came over yesterday to return the stamp and when she handed it to me, she handed me the other stamp as well and said it was for me (thank you Trish)... two stamps that I had missed putting on my order, were gifted to me.. I am so blessed. here are all the new goodies that I got: This is the first card I made using my new goodies: I stamped the image onto an embossed panel that I had bought at XpedX last year,, then stamped the image again onto white card stock, colored in a section, punched it out, layered it and attached it on top of the first stamped image using Dimensionals. The main image and "Thank You" are part of a stamp set from StampersBest called Welcome Home... there is a "Welcome Home" sentiment in the set along with the two images I used. If you use code: airbornewife at checkout, you can save 10% off your order... who doesn't love saving $$$$$$. Here is a card I made last night: I had the thought in my head while I was laid up earlier last week after surgery.. I was thinking of how I could be doing something instead of just laying in bed and watching TV.. I thought of punching out some 1" squares and then rounded two opposite corners on each and then making a quick card putting four of them on a card using dimensionals.. putting a button in the center and stamping a sentiment off to the side. I grabbed what scraps I had on my desk to put this together. I used a sentiment from a $1.00 stamp set I got at J's a few days ago.. the stamp wasn't stamping nice and clear the first few times I stamped it on some scrap paper.. I got it to stamp nice enough for me to make something with it and I will be sending this card in to Operation Write Home. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I made this card last night using this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. What a fun sketch. I used some birthday papers that are from an My Mind's Eye paper pad that I scored for a mere $1.61 at Michael's. I have been away for the last few weeks. I traveled to Louisiana to be with my oldest son who had Small Bowel Restructure surgery. The best part was when the doctor came in and said that as of that day he was Crohn's Free!!! yeah!!! We both traveled back home this past week. He is doing wonderful. Here's the sketch I used MFTWSC214: Supplies: card stock: Neenah Canyon Brown, White pattern paper: MME Birthday paper ink: SU Early Espresso stamps: MFT Celebrate Big accessories: Scor-Pal, MFT Blueprints, MFT Circle Stax Dies, MFT Fishtail Banner dies, Brown Brads, Hold Punch and Foam Tape thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! I needed to top off a large flat rate box that was packed full of "MOM" cards.. and I made these last night to fill it up. I just grabbed a 6 x 6 paper pad and started cutting. The pieces are all easy to cut from each sheet and you can get several out of each page. *MEASUREMENTS: (card in right of photo, not included) card base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" black layer: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" pattern layer: 5 1/4" x 4" rectangle piece: black layer: 2 1/8" x 4 1/8" pattern layer: 2" x 4" square piece: black layer: 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" pattern layer: 3" x 3" *some pieces of the pattern paper weren't exactly 6" x 6", so some squares might be off a little bit from the 3". just adjust the black layer for each one that is. *SUPPLIES: card stock: white, black pattern paper: MME Quilting Bee stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs It's Good to Be Queen April 2010 set ink: Hero Arts Black accessories: Scor-Pal, Black Mini Brads, hole punch and Dimensionals thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! We had a "Handling it on the Homefront" get together last week and before the event I made a bunch of "LOVE" cards to take with me. After all the talking, I passed around two baskets full of cards for the ladies to take one of so that they could write a note of love/encouragement to stick in their soldiers bag when they leave. These are some of the pictures I took during the process. I can't remember how many I made, but I am thinking it was over 40. The cards are all basically the same, just different pattern papers. I used 12x12 pattern paper that I cut down for these. Here are the measurements: PATTERN PAPER: 3 1/4" X 4 1/2" WHITE LAYER: 3 3/8" X 4 5/8" BLACK LAYER: 3 1/2" X 4 3/4" RED LAYER: 4" X 5 1/4" The card base is kraft paper and I is cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" then folded in half to make an A2 size card. I punched out hearts and layered them onto a scallop heart. The red hearts I punched out of the red layer,, I could put my punch in far enough to punch it out and use the red layer without any punched out area showing. The strips for the sentiment were cut at I believe 1" or maybe a little smaller.. based on your sentiment. The sentiment I used is from an Hero Arts~Operation Write Home set. After stamping the sentiment, I punched the ends to make the banner. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I am taking part of the #thedailymarker30day and this is my Day 28 coloring project Since I had two elephants already colored up from yesterday, I thought I'd color up four more balloons. I had plans on making two cards tonight, but it's been a long day so I just put one toghether. I used a piece of the fun plaid paper from the MFT Plaid Patterns paper pad, some MFT Blue Raspberry card stock that I die cut using a MFT Circle Stax, along with a black layer. I embossed the blue circle with a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder. I have never used sequins on cards before, but had a pack of Lawn Fawn sequins I hadn't even opened and I've had them for quite a while so I added three to the card. I put it all together and now it's ready to go in the box to send to someone special! SUPPLIES; card stock: black, Bristol Smooth white card stock, MFT Plaid Patterns paper pad stamps: MFT Adorable Elephants ink: Versafine Black, Asst Zig Pens accessories: Scor-Pal, MFT Adorable Elephants dies, MFT Circle Stax dies, Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder, Lawn Fawn Sequins and Foam Tape Day 28 for the 30 day Color Challenge is in the books.. or on the rather on the blog! #thedailymarker30day thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! Handmade Stamped Cards ~ Military ~ Family
I counted all my 6 x 6 paper pads last night.. a whopping 195.. yikes!~ I decided right then to use up one of the pads I had, that had been partially used. I made two of the "MISS YOU" cards like the one above.. and then started cutting out layers for a bunch more.. picture below. I don't know how many I cut.. but after cutting all the layers, I decided to find a larger "missing you" stamp for all the rest of the cards so that I could punch out the circles for the sentiments so that they would go together faster. I made this one below with a "I MISS YOUR FACE" stamp and am going to finish up the rest as soon as I post this. *MEASUREMENTS: most of the cards use these measurements: card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" solid layer: 5 1/4" x 4" pattern layer: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" solid layer: 4 1/2" x 3" pattern layer: 4 3/8" x 2 7/8" on some layers.. the top panel was cut down so that some of the design of the bottom layer could be seen.. most of them I kept at 4 1/2" for the length, but the width was cut down to say 2 1/4" or there abouts. It depends on the pattern you are using. flag is 1" wide and either punched, die cut or cut with scissors to make the banner end. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I received an email from a good friend who is currently deployed, asking if I would like to send some cards to her to put out for others to use to send home... why yes I would!!! Last night I made 13 cards and I had all the rest of that paper pad I had used.. and got busy making cards using all those scraps. I made 39 cards today.. plus the ones from last night make a total of 52 cards from one paper pad. There are two sheets left, but they are squares and I couldn't figure out a way to incorporate them.. so they'll headed to the recycle bin. I used an "I Love You So Much" sentiment stamp from Papertrey Ink and the "Just Saying Hello" is from a Hero Arts set. The paper pad was a Simple Stories Sn@p Color Vibe pad. The card bases are all white card bases, as I have a bunch of them already cut.. and layered most everything in black, except the Hello cards. These are the ones from yesterday.. LINK to blog post with measurements: thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I made a bunch more of the "MISSING YOU" cards and ended up with 24 total. I'm calling it a night as it's nearly midnight. *MEA...
I finished up the other 11 cards.. so I have a dozen completed tonight. I might work on some more tomorrow. **MEASUREMENTS: card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" crushed curry layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" striped pattern layer: 4" x 5 1/4" strip across center: black layer: 2 1/8" x 5 3/8" pattern layer: 2" x 51/4" star square layers: black layer: 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" star layer: 3" x 3" sentiment layer: black layer: 1 7/8" x 3 1/8" sentiment: 1 3/4" x 3" **I would share the sentiment here but can't get it to post.. I just typed it up in word and then in Office. aligned 12 of them on a page and printed it off. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
These are just some random cards I've made this past week... they missed going in the two large flat rate boxes packed full of cards that went to Afghanistan.. they'll be in the next box. while digging through a box, I found these Gus the Golfer's already colored, cut/mounted to the black panel.. same with the sentiment and the circles were already punched out and embossed... that was done in April of last year.. my husband did them for me because I had just had Ulnar Nerve Entrapment surgery and couldn't crank the BigShot or man handle the big punch. thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I cut into another paper pad last night. A My Mind's Eye ~ Breeze paper pad. This is one of my favorite MME pads and I have several of them. This is the second one in about a week that I have used up ~ and it feels so good to see what I end up with when it's all gone. Two cards in this lot have some scrappy strips on them, the rest of the scraps went in the recycle bin. While cleaning off a shelf where our printer sits, I went through some papers and found a couple sheets of these Mother digital stamps that I had printed off a very long time ago. Today I decided to cut them up, layer them onto a black layer and onto some cards tonight. Super easy cards to add to one of four large flat rate boxes full of cards headed to Operation Write Home soon. I ended up with 16 cards in all. Sometime in this past week I cut a bunch of card stock for card bases, some layers and what not and they were laying on my desk in piles.. so I decided to start with these five and all I had to do to finish them was to stamp a sentiment, punch the end, attach it to the patterned piece, put two brads in the upper left corner and put some dimensionals on the back.. waalaa.. they are done! Now if only I could make some Christmas cards that fast.. ha ha! thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them

I have always wanted to take part of the 30 Day Coloring Challenges that Kathy Racoosin does, but I never have. This time I'm going to try and color every day for 30 days. You only have to color for 5 minutes or more and use any color medium. I have friends that aren't card makers, but like to color in the adult coloring books, you too can join the challenge. Be sure to stop by Kathy's blog daily to see what she's posted or follow along on Instagram. THE DAILY MARKER Happy Coloring!! thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! Hello Everybody.. Happy World Card Making Day!!! Welcome to this stop on the Operation Write Home Bloghop. Today I have some super quick and easy "Thank You" cards that can be made over and over again in a multitude of colors. I got some new stamps this past week and wanted to get some ink on them. I used OWH Sketch #78 for my card.. the sketch called for a larger layer under the three smaller pieces.. instead I chose to layer each of the three pieces. These went together to quickly.. stamp the image three times, punch each one out with a square punch and punch out three colored squares to layer them onto. After cutting and scoring the card base.. I cut the colored layer and then the top white layer. Stamped the sentiment then put it all together. The three squares are on dimensionals.. my all time favorite product.. the ones by Stampin' UP! that is. Card Supplies & Measurements: card stock: #100 white cover, Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Crushed Curry and Gumball Green ink: Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Crushed Curry and Gumball Green stamp sets: sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps Fanciful Flowers, Stampin' UP! Happy 4th of July! Also known as Hug-a-Service-member day! I always loved celebrating the 4th of July as a kid. Lots of family, bbqs, and fireworks. I never really grasped the true meaning until I was an adult. Yes, we celebrate our nation's freedom...but near and far we tend to forget that that freedom came at a price. Soldiers lost their lives, families worry while their loved ones are at war/in service, and people mourn the lives of the brave who have gone before us. Never will my words be enough to say thank you. But I will continue to say it over and over and over again. THANK YOU. to the men and women who serve to the families who live in limbo while their loved ones are away to the people who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Today we celebrate Freedom. It will always be something I am extremely grateful to have. While you're out celebrating this weekend, don't forget to nod your head for those who have made this day possible. Join me and my fellow design team at SSInkspiration as we celebrate our service men and women (and their families)! Wanna make this card and show someone you appreciate their contribution to Freedom? I had the house all to myself today. My two youngest were in school and my husband took our oldest daughter to the lake fishing in the boat. I turned on Roku and cranked up Pandora.. on the Bee Gees channel of course ~ my favorite!! I got busy cutting some papers.... this time I grabbed a pack of some Stampin' UP! Designer Series Paper.. can't remember the name of it, it was on the clearance rack on the site, might still be. Not all the sheets in the pack are double sided. The light pink polka dotted strip is like card cover.. nice and thick, the heart piece is regular paper. NOTE: my kraft paper looks terribly fuzzy on the edges.. I used a sanding block and trimmed them down.. I should've been using my Tonic trimmer to cut them.. but grabbed an old Fiskars cutter and the blade is long past due to be replaced. I used the same layout as the last two days.. and then I turned it around .. then added some brads and I "really" liked the way they turned out. Here are the measurements: strip across top is a 1" strip with a 1 1/8" layer under it the lower piece is 2" x 3" with a 2 1/8" x 3 1/8" layer under it. The circles are based on what size sentiment you are using thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them

After making 10 cards earlier today, I decided to find another sketch in my pile of Deconstructed Sketches that I have printed off and selected Sketch #48. I altered it a tad to make it work with the papers I was using and I really like the way they turned out. *NOTE: The two cards above the sketch printout were made using two of the 2" strips I had leftover. To make this set of 10 cards, I ended up using every sheet in the MME paper pad My Girl that I was using. I have some 2" strips left and some pieces I am punching out that I may use on the next set of cards. I'll figure that out after posting this. This was when I started, I made two cards to see if I liked how they looked before proceeding on with making others. *TIP. For the half circle piece I had pieces leftover from the tops of strips I cut, I used a very large circle punch to punch them out, then punched out some pieces in black with the same punch and layered them together. *MEASUREMENTS: card base: 8 1/2" x 11" scored at 4 1/4" solid layer 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" pattern layer 4" x 5 1/4" banner solid/pattern .. I cut a piece 3 1/8" wide and longer than 4 1/2".. after trimming the banner ends, I cut it to 4 1/2" long, adhered it to the black layer and then cut the banner ends on the black piece. on the cards with the 2" wide banner, I cut the piece 2 1/8" wide and did the same as the banner above. sentiment this will be determined by your sentiment. The sentiment I used is one I bought at Michael's. I cut the white piece 1" x 3 1/2" and the black layer 1 1/8" x 3 5/8" Here's the sketch I used: DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH #48 Supplies: card stock: black, white pattern: MME My Girl stamps: Craft Smart "I LOVE YOU" from Michael's ink: Hero Art black accessories: Scor-Pal, Large Circle Punch and Scissors thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day!
