I’m slowly eliminating any white woodwork in our home. My favourite things to do are: •use a darker colour than the wall for contrast. Our hallway and landing are painted in Railings and the walls are Strong White (both Farrow & Ball). Brands like Little Greene do colour scales on their paint charts, making it easy to pick a darker tone for the skirting and door frames). •paint the woodwork the same colour as the walls. We’ve done this in the living room (Hicks Blue by Little Greene) and in our bedroom (Vintage Vogue by Benjamin Moore). It gives a more modern look and perfect if you’re thinking of colour drenching the whole room. You can use eggshell on the woodwork or some brands do a multisurface paint (such as Farrow & Ball dead flat or Little Greene intelligent emulsion).
