A few years back, I lived near a prolific mulberry tree along the Prospect Expressway, and ever since, I've been a bit obsessed with picking them, mostly because I love the idea of getting berries for free. (Take that, $8/quart Greenmarket strawberries!) But free doesn't mean anything if the food doesn't taste any good, and lucky us, mulberries taste really really good.
