An elegant French 19th century Louis XVI St. ormolu and porcelain clock. The small scale clock is raised by fine tapered fluted legs below striking richly chased block rosettes centering a lovely pierced rinceau shaped fitted ormolu plaque. The elegantly curved body displays a finely detailed berried laurel band with superb scrolled movements at each side and a charming hand painted fitted porcelain plaque of two beautiful maidens playing with butterflies, leaves and a winged cherub, possibly by Sèvres. The enameled clock face displays lovely hand painted foliate movements amidst musical instruments, Roman numerals and pierced iron hands with a clover design. Above is the striking urn with beautiful Greek key handles and finely chased foliate designs with a top acorn finial.
