Do you have to track calories to lose weight? No! Is it helpful? For many, yes tracking can be used as a helpful tool. Here’s what I mean when I say choosing a calorie goal that’s “calculated appropriately”. What I find works best for most women is setting your calorie goal to be losing ½ pound per week (a 250 daily calorie deficit). Having a HIGHER calorie goal is actually preferable for sustainable weight loss.
