"Britannia" Pacific No. 70031 "BYRON" rolls out of Mansfield Road tunnel and past Victoria North signal box as it approaches platform 12 with the empty stock to form the 17:15 express to Marylebone on a very wet late summer Saturday in 1963. The loco is allocated to Willesden and has presumably been provided as a replacement for one of Annesley's ailing "Royal Scots" at some point earlier in the day.
