Beautiful, unique, crystalline medallion of unrefined Gold ore. Metallic and highly oxidized. Sparkling quartz makes up the host body, surface oxidation has turned the druzy crystals red and orange. There is an interesting crystal window on one side, and dark native Silver, and or Iron on the other. You will notice metal content not only by look, but also by notable density. Gold, and Silver sulfides, potential Au & Ag, accompanied by small amounts of Iron, Copper, and various other base metals. Raw and unpolished, pictured wet, and dry. Precious metals occur in abundance on the property in many forms, due to epithermal or hydrothermal deposits. Including rich ores, vein deposits, colloidal Gold & Silver NPs, and in various natural alloys and compounds. Stable metallic Gold resists tarnish. So do PGMs, and some natural Telluride-Gold compounds. Surface oxidation, and sulfides (Au2s—Gold sulfide, & Ag2s—Silver sulfide) indicate the presences of unrefined Gold, and Silver. Unrefined hard rock Gold, is most often alloyed with small amounts of Fe, Cu, and other base metals. If not in the form of free metal, chemical or fire processing is needed to produce stable metallic values. Exact metal amounts are unknown, as we do not have a certificate of professional assay for this piece.
