A collection of beautiful, Victorian glass ink bottles or inkwells. Crafted in England around 1890-1900. All three have some cloudiness / sickness which has been reflected in the price. They were made by hand blowing the glass into a mould. They came in a wide range of colours, including the aqua greens shown in this listing. The hand-blown process creates bubbles and imperfections, and makes each one magnificently unique. A wonderful piece of history in your home, or as a gift for an avid writer. The tops of the bottles have a rough edge. This is due to the finishing technique used at the time, called a burst lip. The glass blower would blow a bubble in the neck of the bottle, until it burst, leaving a rough opening without the need to apply a lip. In this listing you can choose from circular, ribbed square or octagonal ink pots. The colours vary for each one, please select from the dropdown menu. Postage discounts for multiples are calculated at checkout, and international postage is available. Each one is approx. 6cm in height. As with all antiques, there may be some small signs of wear due to age. Any significant marks, chips or cracks will be highlighted in the description and where possible, shown in the photos. Your vintage ink bottles will be packaged thoroughly and sent via Royal Mail 2nd class post. New items are added to our shop regularly. You can receive updates when you favourite us.
