Effort Recognition Award Certificate Smart students who earn the best grades often receive the due accolades for their efforts, and justifiably so, as they proceed through public school and during their university studies. However, if you as a teacher want to impact the classroom today, find ways to reward students who, although not earning the top grades, are certainly a pleasure to teach. In other words, reward the behavior you want to see in your classroom. Find out what type of prize would really motivate your students, and make the award a monthly so as to not “break the bank”. Student traits such as respectfulness, punctuality, inquisitiveness, good attitude, cheerful, good attitude and the like makes it easier to go to work every day. If you are able to offer a monthly prize that provides motivation, imagine the change that can take place in your classroom as your students compete for the prize. I know I for one would be willing to provide for a prize within reason, but you may find that your boss is also interested in seeing classrooms that require far less discipline and much more teaching. On the following page, I have included an award certificate to bring recognition to deserving students. Your boss may allow a company logo or letterhead, and make it an official school document that is posted for all to see.
