Stunning Kütahya pottery vase in a beautiful Iznik design probably made during the last decades of the 19th century. There are a few tiny glaze losses, a lot of attractive crazing, a few firing flaws such as areas of smudged colours and tiny clay protuberances (eg see foot rim in last picture) but on the whole this is in good condition given the age and vulnerabilities of this type of glazed pottery. The base is unmarked other than what appears to be a few pencilled lines - it may have been part of a catalogued collection. This vase was assessed by a major London auction house several years, they dated it and gave an estimate of £500 - £800. The approximate dimensions are: 19cms high x 12 cms at the widest part; weight 554 g.
