Here is our original design Spencer jacket. It has been inspired from an authentic drawing of the Regency Era. The front bodice has a 'V' shaped neckline that crosses at the waist and closes with a buttonhole and small button. The back bodice has tailored sides and back that shape to the doll's waistline. The pieces flow into three pleats that resemble a bird's tail feathers. The bodice curves from the empire length waist at the sides to the rounded tails reaching below the hip area. There is a gathered collar that is lined with satin on heavier fabrics or cotton for light weight fabrics. The collar is trimmed with gathered lace. The sleeves have a traditional two piece design. There is an upper sleeve that gathers at the shoulders and at the arm just above the elbows. The lower sleeve is cut straight and narrow to fit snugly on each arm. The Spencer is fully lined for a elegantly finished look. It requires some hand work such as sewing the linings around each sleeve. Not a beginner project but easy for sewers with a little experience. This pattern has been sized to an AG doll measuring 11" at the chest and 10 3/8 at the waist. Thank you for stopping by our shop!
