The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is one of the most awaited and well-known events praising the most talented professionals in the film industry. There are 24 categories from which the winners are chosen, one of them being the award for the best costume design. The very first Oscars were held on May 16th, 1929, while the first award for the best costume design was given back in 1949. This year, the 94th Academy Awards will take place on the 24th of March.
