Throw pillow covers are one of my favorite things to make. Plain fabric is cheap, and throw pillow inserts are also very cheap at Wal-Mart. Sewing simple envelope covers is one of the most basic beginner sewing projects. If you can sew a straight seam 4 times, you can make an envelope pillow cover in minutes. Below are the "how to's" for where and how I got these designs Tips: Always use HTV on fabric. Don't forget to mirror your design! The fabric for envelope pillow covers needs to be the same width of the pillow, and the length is the width x2 +4. So for an 18 inch pillow, the fabric needs to be 18 inches wide and 40 inches long. Step By Step How To Sew Envelope Pillow Cases A list of ready made free svgs that are great for Christmas throw pillows Step By Step How I Made, Or Where I Found, These Designs: For this one, I used the santa sleigh svg from here: https://publicdomainvectors.org/en/free-clipart/Santas-sleigh-and-reindeer-silhouette/68445.html The Flourish is from the font Amastery Extras, which is not currently free. I have a list of FREE flourishes here - https://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-best-fonts-for-flourishes-in-design.html The Fonts: Rebel Bones, KG Be Still & Know, Magnolia Sky (all free at Dafont) Unfortunately this file is no longer free. (The actual file is in color, I made it black and white) The font is Wallington Pro, and although I've found free versions of it, none of the free versions have all of the extra glyphs. It's $24 on Creative Market & Hungry Jpeg. But I'm leaving it here as a reminder. If you are looking for free files, check your own folders first! I spent hours online looking for svgs, and when I opened up my folder of Christmas svgs, this one was already in there. It was a free download last year from here: http://www.fynesdesigns.com/north-pole-free-christmas-cut-files/ If you haven't already, be sure to download the extension to see svg files as thumbnails, it will make browsing your own collections so much easier! https://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2018/01/how-to-see-thumbnails-of-svg-files.html (I added the bottom part, and made it all black and white, for what I wanted... My husband is an avid geocacher, so he loves it when I add gps coordinates to things) Someone made a pillow like this and shared it in a facebook group. I LOVED it so much, I copied the idea for our home. There is a free bell svg in this design - https://lovesvg.com/2018/11/sleigh_bells_ring_8077-2/ If you use a silhouette - here is a free cut file. (It is a studio3 file, NOT an svg) https://www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/11/free-silhouete-jingle-bells-design-set.html The font used is Samantha - not a free font A few I made last year, mostly with fonts and a deer silhouette. I did not take notes last year, so I can't be sure where the designs came from. My best guesses: Ho Ho Ho font is The Skinny jingle (I'm not sure, but I think it's the default free font in design space) I think We Wish You A Merry Christmas is from Design Bundles, but it's not free there now. ================== Find More Tips, Tutorials, and Free SVGS https://www.facebook.com/fieldsofheathercrafts/ An Index Of Tips, Tutorials, and Free SVGS for Making Christmas Ornaments https://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2019/10/making-christmas-ornaments-index-of.html https://fieldsofhether.blogspot.com/2019/02/an-index-of-cricut-resources-how-tos.html
