Handcrafted cast brass mask by Evan Jerry of Studio ANANSI is an artistic interpretation of a traditional Ngil mask of the Fang people of Gabon. Worn by powerful secret society members known as the Ngil, the striking mask bears stylistic features like an elongated face, rounded forehead, arched eyebrows and a slim nose. Jerry makes direct references to these features in cast brass, where the contours play with light and shadow, heightening its dramatic effect. Brass is unlacquered, offering a living finish that will develop the patina of a vintage find. CB2 exclusive.
