To put it in simple terms, granulation occurs when a pigment’s particles are not as fine, so it creates a “texture.” Not all colors granulate, typically granulating colors occur in those colors with minerals (think oxides, for example. More earthy tones). • I love granulation and the texture it leaves behind. When I saw this Winsor & Newton granulation medium, I knew I had to try it and experiment with it!
