Reflection ppt description This PowerPoint is eight slides long and introduces one of transformation (reflection) to intermediate students. Slide #3 stresses the change in orientation. Slide #4 shows that figure and its reflection are equally spaced from the line of reflection. Slides #5 and 6 illustrates how to find the line of reflection by dividing the range between reflecting points by two. Many students do this but they don’t know how to explain it. The exit question slide reviews three concepts that I wanted to stress. The last question is hard but I’m targeting the top academic percentage. Rigor must be high or the best students will shut down and begin to hate math. This is short and sweet but if students understand this, they should have success with work sheets and assessments. Note: My philosophy for slide shows. Long slide shows become very boring very quick. I use slide shows to model a concept. Because I teach the same lesson multiply times there are certain things I like to stress. If it is on a slide I don’t forget it. I like to use animations to hold the students attention. I normally will have a vocabulary slide for students to copy into their notebook. Hence the “white note taking icon” on the vocabulary slides. I generally will have two avatars in the bottom of the slide to guide the students through the slides. The avatars will ask questions to one another or corny jokes that students don’t understand. My students enjoy reading what is on the callouts of the avatars this allows for more interaction within the classroom. At the end of my slide show I like to have exit questions or a summary slide. If you purchase this please adapt it to your classroom. Last slide as my e-mail address, if you find errors regards how small please e-mail me and inform me so I can make corrections.
