A full digital (can be used in person or ready-to-use for distance learning) unit for Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis (the first book only) designed for a 10th grade special education (mild/moderate) class, but could easily be used for 7th-12th grade classes general education/inclusion classes. This is a 3 week unit. This unit includes the following: An editable Interactive Classroom with weekly overviews PDF Copy of the book 6 study guides (Google docs) with answer keys Vocabulary graphic organizers (on study guide Google docs) with corresponding vocabulary Google Slides A Google slides historical timeline presentation with comprehension questions A mini project (creating a timeline) and writing assignment emphasizing women's rights throughout the different reigns in Iran Final Unit Test - Multiple Choice (Google form) Final Unit Written Assessment - Short Answer Q's (Google docs) The whole unit is designed with a lot of built in scaffolds and gradually increases the academic rigor but still provides a lot of resources that help students understand the historical context of this story with ease. Everything is labeled by Unit (U) and Lesson (L) so it is easy to follow and virtually no prep is required! This unit allows students with various learning disabilities access the same content their general education peers are getting with the support of strategically differentiated lessons that include only ACCOMMODATIONS and no MODIFICATIONS. Your students will still read the full text, and do work that is aligned to CCSS for 9th and 10th grade.
