Fun ways to encourage STUDENT AGENCY through reflection and goal setting. The beginning and end of the IB PYP units of inquiry are a great time for reflecting as we tune into the conceptual ideas, skills and Learner Profile attributes in addition to pre-assessing our current knowledge of those big ideas. Reflection can be a tricky concept to genuinely learn. Often it becomes filling out the “usual” things and is not really meaningful for the student. These IB PYP reflection sheets are designed to try to help the children think more about the specifics of their learning and the units they participated in. It aims to help them reflect upon their success as well as their challenges and to really think about how they could help themselves. This packet is designed to assist children with those questions and the reflection process. You will find a collection of 12 new unit planners and 12 end of unit reflection templates. They are easy to differentiate and mix and match! Use them with: Introducing new units of inquiry Unpacking the big ideas Pre-assessing understanding of the central ideas End of unit reflections Portfolios Goal setting for any curricular area Reflection of Learner Profile, Attitudes and Skills used.
