Practice using positional words and recognizing shapes in different directions with this fun and creative Google Slides activity! I have used this activity with my preschoolers during distance learning, and they are so excited to help me build different objects! While I move the shapes with the mouse, they are the ones “in control!” First, we go over the different positional words we may use when moving shapes. Then, students tell me which shape to pick, and where to put it. If my students don’t tell me where, sometimes I will put it in a silly spot (ie: the circle ice cream next to the triangle cone) and they will giggle and tell me “Nooooo, not theeeerreee!” :D This is also a fun activity to help students recognize that shapes maintain their form, whichever way you turn them! Included are 20 different items to create. In Google Slides, just drag and drop the shape, and use the mouse to rotate the shape into the direction you want it to be. When you are all done for the day, press “control Z” and all of the shapes will go back to the long rectangle bar at the bottom of the screen! This is a fun activity for Google Slides that you can use while distance learning with students of all ages. If you use this resource with your students, we'd love to hear your feedback in our store!
