This project will walk you through how to guide your students through the process of writing a monologue about something in their life and getting to perform it. Where it falls in the Year: I generally do this at the end of the year for a final project. I would recommend doing this project mid to end of the year. Make sure that your students fully understand what a monologue is before they attempt this assignment. You want them to have seen/heard examples of monologues before they begin this assignment. Length of Unit: This is completely up to you. You can make this a quick assignment or a longer assignment. With my end goal (public performance) it normally lasts 4 weeks. UPDATE: I presented this at a conference I attended and I attached the packet I used at the conference. This does include examples of student work for reference.
