This 16-question quiz assesses student understanding of the Earth's atmospheric layers. More specifically, the following terms/concepts are assessed: stratosphere, troposphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, exosphere, ozone, common gases in the atmosphere, and properties of each layer. This assessment was designed for 6th-grade students, but I feel that it works well in 4th-10th grade standards, depending on your content. I'm listing this so that it can primarily be included in a bundle I've created, but you are welcome to use this file however you wish! I think it serves well as a pre- or post-assessment for middle school units. I hope you find it helpful, and that it saves you time!
