Teman-teman pembaca SibatakJalanJalan.com mungkin akrab dengan museum TB Silalahi Center, ada pula tempat bersejarah bagi bangsa Batak yaitu ‘makam pahlawan Sisingamangaraja XII’. ‘Provinsi Tapanuli’ atau dahulu dikenal sebagai ‘Residen Tapanuli’ adalah suatu struktur pemerintahan dan daerah yang dipetakan semenjak Belanda mendatangi daerah Sumatera yang berfokus pada sebutan tempat, dikenali sebagai provinsi Tapanuli. Dan Balige merupakan salah satu bagian daripada pemerintahan provinsi Tapanuli tersebut. Namun masa kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia, provinsi Tapanuli berubah menjadi provinsi Sumatera Utara. Yang meliputi daerah perbatasan provinsi Bukit Tinggi di bagian selatan hingga Deli Serdang di bagian utara. Kembali SibatakJalanJalan.com mengajak teman-teman pembaca bercerita tentang kota Balige. Untuk penghasilan/komoditi daerah utama masyarakat Balige bukanlah menjadi nelayan, meskipun bersama-sama kita ketahui bahwa kecamatan ini berada di tepi Danau Toba.
