Timo Sarpaneva was one of the most internationally respected, renowned and awarded Finnish designers of all time. He has been awarded, among many others, the Lunning prize and twice in the Milan Triennale. In 1956, House Beautiful magazine gave Sarpaneva's Orchid glass sculpture the title "The Most Beautiful Object Of The Year". In 1976 he was awarded the title of professor and honorary doctorate. Timo Sarpaneva's production ranges from utility and art glass to textiles and graphics. At Iittala, Sarpaneva has played a very important role - e.g. the i mark that serves as the company's logo was designed by him. Condition: Very good used condition.
