We source and select the best sustainable pine wood from Scandinavia, timber has been kiln-dried to suit a home environment. Note that our boards display a variety of unique characteristics such as cracks, knots, splits, rough edges etc and we believe this is what adds to the charm of our products. We only use water based, non toxic wood stain (see more details below) and finish the product with a lovely coat of natural beeswax which enhances the grain pattern whilst protecting the timber with a water repellent finish. Our water based stains means when it dries it is water that evaporates off, not an oil or white spirit. This also gives our stains a low VOC (Volatile organic compounds) rating and low odour. Our stains resins are a unique blend of acrylics, waxes, polyurethanes and alkyds sourced from renewable resources wherever possible.
