We sometimes get lost in exercises rather than the intended function of exercises. For example, the goal of pushups, pullups, etc isn't just to do more reps - it's usually to increase our quality of life and overall fitness ability! (with some exception, like athletes, bodybuilders, etc) So it benefits us to train different skills, different angles, different techniques etc... even if they don't necessarily get us better at a *specific* skill. Plus all good progressions are worthy movements themselves. A horizontal pullup isn't "lesser" than a vertical pullup! Have a wonderful day!
