The Rarest and Most Unique People on Earth | The Rarest and Most Unique People on Earth | By Carmen Informativo | We're all unique. Every single one of us is a special snowflake. Yes, especially you. I know but some people in the world have such rare and unusual features or health conditions that change the way they interact with the world that they have to overcome more obstacles than most of us just to keep on existing. So, we at The Fancy Banana have poked around in the old internet to find some of the people out there in the world who are doing things a bit differently and who have challenging or unusual bodies for a multitude of reasons. Bring a hanky though because some of it's really sad. From the man who's turned his unusual syndrome into a Hollywood career to a guy who's so very devoted to his God that he's held up his arm in praise for the last four decades. Here are 20 rare and unique people that are one in a million. Number 20. Javier Bowtette. Javier Bowtette is a Spanish actor who's well known in the horror movie industry. He started some of the biggest Hollywood pictures of recent times. Javier Bowtette has a condition named Merphan Syndrome and this is a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissues throughout the entire body. The people who have this condition are often tall and slender and will very often have long arms and legs. This condition is characterized by extremely flexible joints and scoliosis. Unfortunately, there are other extremely dangerous aspects to this condition that can actually be fatal and sometimes the heart and lungs can be affected and it can cause valve prolapse or aortic aneurysms. So, living with this disorder is no picnic but it seems as though Javierbo has found a way to use such things to give him an advantage. Is very flexible and has spent his life doing tricks with his body. His extra long limbs and fingers make him the ideal candidate for some of the more creepy and weird roles in horror and fantasy as he is especially skilled in moving his body in unusual and slightly disturbing ways. This is a talent that he's honed deliberately for his whole entire career. Number nineteen, Paul Carrison. Paul Carrison from California is really really blue. This isn't some sort of blue rinse pastel. He is legitimately blue like blue man group blue. He began turning blue about a decade ago when he was attempting to treat his skin condition on his face. The technique that he used to treat it was a bit unusual and it's definitely not recommended. He used a silver preparation which he applied directly to his skin and also began taking colloidal silver in liquid form. This is silver that is suspended in the fluid. The use of such remedies for skin was actually quite common before the invention of penicillin that is. So, since the 1930s, these sort of cures have been quite rightly replaced by actual medicine. Anyhow, the FDA actually banned the use of this kind of silver in the over the counter drugs back in 1999 and the stuff carries a whole bunch of health risks which includes severe organ damage. So, messing about with it can do some really bad stuff to the body. This guy though, he still takes the stuff even though it has literally turned a it's beggar's belief really. Number 18, Zang Rua Fang. Reaching the ripe old age of 101 is a remarkable achievement but did you know that you might start growing horns if you get that old? Well, at least that's how it seems to have gone for this very old Chinese lady anyway. Allegedly began growing a horn out of the left side of her forehead in 2thousand eleven. Her son said that this growth began as a small patch of thicker, more rough skin then just continue to keep on growing. That's when people began to really pay attention. Apparently it just grew and grew until it resembled a horn and then they say another began on the other side. Well at least they'll match you know but I would take all of this silliness with a pinch of salt to be honest. The story is available in a couple of super junky internety places. Live journal being won and then a retro looking wiki page. So you know number seventeen. Nia Kim got witch. As a model, Niacom Gatwich is in the spotlight all the time and apparently this is caused quite the stir for some reason. She's the target of a very much racist and colorist abuse online and is taken to her own social media to draw attention to the issue. Colorism is racism that regards paler complexions as preferable and this is usually within ethnic groups in which some members are treated better on the account of their lighter skin and as Gatwitch has a darker skin, she's received a lot of negative and ignorant comments from people who seem to be general bigots that have no place to comment on anyone's appearance to be honest. Gatwich is widely respected in the modeling community and world and the dignity and class with which she deals with idiots online is quite admirable. Number sixteen, Larry Gomez. Larry Gomez is also known as the wolf man. He's officially the hairiest man in the whole entire world and he's quite proud about that fact. Almost 98% of Larry Gomez's body is covered in thick, dark hair Now, this is not the result of some comic book style incident with a magic potion or something. No, no, Larry was born this way. He has congenital generalized hypertrosis and this is the medical term that's used to describe abnormal amounts of hair growth over the human body. In history, this condition often meant that the person with the disorder would find themselves labeled as a wolf man or a bearded lady and they would often be stared at and seen as freaks. Many of them actually found work in the circus as a performer based on public perception and general ignorance. Unfortunately, things are not all that much different even now. When he was a child, Larry, who used to be known as Victor was relentlessly bullied by the other children but these days he's embracing his situation and relishes being referred to as the hairiest man in the world saying that it means that he's simply special and that's quite true. Number 15, Shala Madison. When Shalah Madison was born, her parents had no reason to believe that she would be any in the hair department and it was soft and brown like her brothers had been when he was a baby but after a few months, they then began to notice that it was actually beginning to grow straight up and wasn't even beginning to flatten down at all. It turns out that Shala had something called uncombable hair syndrome. This basically meant that her hair was affected by a condition that leaves it growing straight up from the scalp and it actually can't be combed flat. Apparently, this is caused by a gene that can also weaken the enamel on the teeth. There are only 100 people worldwide who are known to have had this condition, experts say that it generally begins in early childhood between infancy and about age three but can appear as late as age twelve. However, by the time the child reaches their adolescence, the hair has usually begun to flatten out and change texture towards something more common place. For now though, Shellah sleeps on a silk pillowcase and tries to minimize the huge overnight tangles that often appear and requires hours of brushing out. Her hair remains fragile but it's likely that the condition will altar as time goes on. Number fourteen, Ramesh Darji. Next up, we have a boy named Ramesh Darji who has hit the tabloid headline several times over his life because of his skin condition. This rare condition known as usually manifests as persistent and widespread dry, thick, fish scaly like skin. There are as many as 20 different types of this skin condition, some of which are genetic and sufferers have them from birth, others are acquired during a person's adulthood. In case of Ramesh, however, he was born with the condition and it seems to be one of the most severe types. The kid has had heavy black scales growing all over his body since he was just 15 days old. They call him the boy who is turning to stone because his condition has been slowly taking over his entire body in tubing him inside the thick and scaly skin. His condition is so advanced that it's now covering his body in such a way that he's no longer able to walk or even speak and they say that his skin grows seven times faster than the usual rate. People do like to stare at those that are different in some way but labeling a child as turning to stone seems cruel and pretty unhelpful in the scheme of things. Number thirteen, Alisone Silva. Some people are tall, some people are short. Some people are somewhere in the middle. Alisoni Silva is a woman who is really rather tall indeed. She's been dubbed Brazil's tallest woman. At the age of just ten, Alisoni was already five feet seven inches tall and by the time she reached adulthood, She had grown to be six feet and eight inches tall. She was the only person in her family even in her class at school to be as tall as this. Hola. Her family were not tall people per se, not by any means and they began to question whether there was something not quite right. Alisoni was suffering from extreme growing pains as well as being very tall for her age or for any age really. She had pain in her bones and the feeling of an enormous pressure building in her head. It turned out that Alisoni had a benign tumor that was growing on her pituitary gland and had caused an over production of the growth of hormones in her body. This turned out to be the case of a rapid growth and it was a very difficult time in her life. She was bullied by other children at school and things were really rough for a while but finally after leaving school, she took control of her own uniqueness and decided to become a model using her height to her advantage. Number 12, David Vetter. David Vetter suffered with an extremely severe combined immunodeficiency or SCID. This is a hereditary disease that causes the immune system to become severely weakened. This condition means that sufferers are extremely susceptible to infections and things that are regularly functioning immune system might be able to fight off without any issues and can often prove to be fatal in those with SCID. David Better would be referred to in the media as the bubble boy. This was on the account of the complex system of containment in which he was kept in to try and protect him from pathogens in the environment. During the early years of his short life, David lived mostly in the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Before anything could be used or touched by David, it had to go through a rigorous process of sterilization. He lived inside this bubble chamber for his entire life. The chamber was kept completely sterile and David could only be touched through the special plastic gloves that were attached to the bubble. He did everything within the confines of the bubble. He watched TV, played, and followed an education program all while staying in his sterile chamber. He had one chamber in the hospital and then a smaller transport chamber that he could be moved around in. That meant that David was a to spend some time at home and he even went on an outing to see return of the Jedi when it came out in the theater. When he got a little older, NASA then created a special suit for David so that he could get out of his bubble and walk around in the world but it was awkward and cumbersome to use. Years of research and over a million dollars would be spent to try and find a cure for David's condition but to no avail, he would die when he was just 12 years old. Number eleven, Amu Haji. The next person is pretty well different to say the least. Amu Haji is believed to be the world's dirtiest human being. There's an accolade for you but I'm not sure that it's one that anyone would actually want. This eighty-three year old Iranian man has allegedly not had a wash for the last 65 years. The guy is taking a fear of water to an entirely new level and refuses to even touch the wet stuff. His reason, well, he believes that if he does bathe, he's going to fall sick. I guess it's been working for over six decades so perhaps he's on to something. Although I can't imagine that it does a whole lot for the guy's social life. Except perhaps with people who have had a freak nose based calamity and have lost all of their sense of smell. Anyways, this man lives out in the desert, eats rotting porcupine meat for fun, smokes dried cow dung and drinks all of his water from a rusty oil can. He's a very specific sort of human. Number 10, Gary Turner. Gary Turner from the UK is able to stretch his skin on his stomach to the extraordinary world record breaking length of six and a quarter inches. This is not something that I recommend you try at home. Turner is able to perform this bizarre activity because he suffers from syndrome. This is a disorder that affects the connective tissues in the body and can cause many problems with the skin, ligaments, and even the internal organs of the sufferer. Yup. For people who suffer from this syndrome, there are many other symptoms than stretchy skin. This disease is no walk in the park, that's for sure. Those who have this condition can suffer such setbacks as bone disorders, structural issues, and even the appearance of massive amounts of wrinkles all over the body from its inability to produce a protein known as collagen. In addition to the outward problems that can arise, those who have this condition may also suffer from joint problems, chronic waves of pain, early onset of full body arthritis, and even scoliosis. Multiple versions of EDS do exist and unfortunately for all of them, there is currently no known cure. Number nine, Natasha Demkina. Well now, anyone can claim to have X-ray vision now, can't they? But can you actually prove it? Well, Natasha Demkina has said that she has X-ray vision since she was just the age of 10 years old and she says that she can see inside of people's bodies just like an X-ray machine. She also claims to be able to make diagnose about various conditions that she can see much more accurately than any old traditional machine. Intriguing and there are apparently plenty of people who think that she might just be telling the truth about this stuff, there are plenty of patients, journalists, and even some doctors who are convinced that Natasha has this superpower. In two thousand four, the Discovery Channel would be making a program about Natasha and they wanted some scientific testing done to prove the young woman's claims. After they did a series of tests under the guidance of psychology professors are experts in claims of so-called paranormal powers like this, they began to believe that she was using a very simple technique known as cold reading. This is a tactic employed by psychics and other fortune teller types in which the reader offers up a wide selection of things which someone who's eager to believe will confirm parts of statements to give some sort of reaction which the psychic can then use to add to the reading. They say that Natasha scans a person from head to toe and simply describes a long list of abnormalities that she sees and and sometimes some of the stuff she throws out will stick. They tested her under conditions in which she was unable to do this kind of cold reading and then her accuracy completely tanked. So in conclusion it seems that old X-ray machines are probably still a better bet than some small charlatan. Number eight Raj Mohan Nair. Raj Mohan Nair from India has the very cool moniker of electroman and may just be the coolest actual living superhero that the world has ever known. If he could only to harness his powers for the greater good of the world at large. Raj has the very rare and unique ability to harness voltage through his body. Raj has been known to actually power light bulbs withstand massive electric shock that would kill large wild animals in an instant and even wraps his body in copper wiring in order to power appliances but as it was once said, with great power comes great responsibility and in this case, his responsibility not to take things too far. He's been known to push himself even to the point where his talents have made him temporarily blind. Number seven, Potterani Gosh. Here for you now is a story that's probably made up. Just so you know, even the people reporting it on the internet say that it's unverified so that just goes to show how much confidence they're placing in its authenticity. Oh, the internet such a glorious dumpster fire of stuff we never knew we needed to know. This is the totally unverified story of an old woman from an unknown village West Bengal in India. The tale goes that everyday she gets up in the morning and heads out to the lake. She gets into the water and then she stays there all day long until the sunsets and then she goes home and goes to bed. They say that this is because many decades ago she began to suffer from a condition which caused her whole body to feel sore and inflamed and the only way to calm it was to be immersed in water all day long. But who really knows? Maybe this is just a picture of an old woman who happened to take a swim one day. Maybe that Trixie old internet is just simply messing with us.
