Objectives To enhance phonemic awareness with a focus on vowel teams, glued sounds, suffixes, and digraphs. To encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and active learning. Materials Needed Mission Cards: Cards with specific tasks related to vowel teams (like ai, ee), glued sounds (like ang, ink), suffixes (like -ed, -ing), and digraphs (like ch, th). Use the ones provided or create your own! Treasure Boxes or Envelopes: Small boxes or envelopes containing puzzles or word lists that need to be decoded using phonemic knowledge. Decoding Boards: Laminated boards or sheets where students can write and decode words. Markers, Erasers, and Timers: For writing on the boards and timing the challenges. Setup 1.Create Stations: Set up different stations around the room or outdoor space, each dedicated to one of the phonemic elements (vowel teams, glued sounds, suffixes, digraphs). 2.Prepare Materials: At each station, place the corresponding mission cards and a treasure box with puzzles or word lists. 3.Form Teams: Divide students into small groups to ensure everyone gets a chance to participate actively.
