This boy is painted by Dutch artist Jantina Peperkamp. Working in a typical Dutch environment near the river 'Waal' likes to work out her portraits in every detail. From this boy she made two tiny paintings, both times the boy wears diving glasses. Jantina Peperkamp likes to talk about her work. She is inspired by people, children from her immediate environment. Yet they are not 'one-to-one portraits', the children or adults painted by her are a carrier of an attribute. This combines Peperkamp with particularly fresh and bright colors and a very fine touch. All this together creates a kind of intimacy between the viewer and the portrait. Very special. The artist herself: In my paintings, the final result is largely determined by the energy that arises between the artist and the model, in which the artist functions as an observer and registrar. The choice for a model is determined by the extent to which I recognize myself in this person. Jantina Peperkamp is not only in the Netherlands to see, also a large gallery in New York from 2017 included in the collection. End of 2018 a Gallery in Canada also started working with this special artist. This in response to publications in various books. So, the work of Jantina Peperkamp, for 10 years an artist now has many collectors from all over the world. It is special that we can represent her, not far from her hometown, in Nuenen.
