The Aran weight has more Baby Alpaca + Merino blown into the cotton tube to create the thickness we desire. Therefore they also dye differently. The Aran base is more matte. Look at photo to see comparison.  Alpaca and Pima Cotton are fibers we usually associate with drape, but the wonderful construction of this yarn adds loft and structure to this super soft blend.
