The Research A 2020 study looked at how 24 healthy participants reacted to red light exposure in order to improve eye health. Group two looked at the effect of red light on rod functioning (used for vision at low light levels). *both groups exposed only their dominant eye to red light for 3 minutes daily for 2 weeks. Results... Group 1 had a significant improvement (22% better color recognition) in their cone functioning. In group 2, participants over 40 years of age showed significant improvements (up to 10% better low light vision), which was also seen in 25% of the younger participants. The improvements were more prominent in the older participants of the study, who naturally had more degenerated mitochondria in the retina of their eyes.
