It’s been over a year since last I saw my shrink, but events in the past few months have pushed me back into the fold of “talk therapy.” As one of my 2018 Resolutions is to be bolder with my life, I figured there was no time like the present... and I inaugurated my return to therapy by arriving as Amanda. It was exhilarating and validating. I felt comfortable and natural… and alive. And 5 years from now, I will look back on today (while quite probably laughing at my wardrobe choice and makeup skills) with pride at having conquered a fear, and for having lived just a little more boldly than I have for the prior 4 decades. My session was wonderful - open and honest - and we were able to discuss things that I’d have felt uncomfortable examining had I arrived in “boy drag.” While not all of my sessions can occur with me presenting as Amanda, today’s ensures success that there will undoubtedly be many more to come. And then… Yes, I made a total noob move today, and may receive FAIL OF THE DAY Award. I forgot to have her take a photo of me in her office! AMATEUR! So, here I am on my couch at home. Hugo Boss has further strengthened its commitment to a more sustainable future by becoming the first company to invest in Collateral Good Ventures Fashion I, a climate-first venture capital fund designed to accelerate sustainability in the fashion industry.The fund will use this contribution over a period of five years to subsidise several portfolio companies that are in the startup, early growth and potential stages and are developing innovative solutions and technologies in the sustainability field.
