01-12-2016 I considered modifying for working in the round, but honestly, I’ve wanted to try this type of construction for a while, so might as well just do what it says. DD has decided she will wear something I made…if it is this. :) This yarn is PERFECT for this project. AND it is super soft and with this gauge it is nice and drapey (for acrylic). VERY happy with my selection!!!! 01-13-2016 I am actually using an 8 needle-my gauge is just a tad bigger (15 stitches for 4”) which is good as I selected small-but dd is in between sizes-which seem to run a bit small-I usually am a small but not with these measurements…Anyhoo-with my loosey goosey typical gauge I’m only a tad bigger-which is weird-I usually have to go down a few needle sizes. 01-14-2016 Today Alan Rickman passed. :( DD was so distraught. I made her this pen and ink artwork for her fandom wall…we shall make some butterbear and toast his memory. Yippie Kay Aye buddy…you were so awesome! 01-15-2016 This is my first real intarsia (I did some intarsia when I was really new at knitting and didn’t know what I was doing-but I did know enough to start new yarn strands…what a mess that was…anyhow, this is coming out much much better and I’m glad I didn’t try intarsia in the round. 01-15-2016 So, I added two inches to the length, and that was a really good call because I wish it was even longer!! It will be fine for dd I am sure, but I was hoping that this size would work for me as well..and it actually seems to be a great fit just not in the length-so when I make one for me I’ll up it by another two or three inches… 01-16-2016 Ok, I’m not 100% happy with this sweater…at all…but being new to this construction I wanted to keep it pretty true to the pattern…the sleeves are a nightmare. It works for this sweater, because the sweaters Molly made were silly…but for a real sweater, this was not be acceptable. If I were to do it again I’d use the directions for making the sleeves one size lower (including the placement of stitch markers)…I’m goign to make one for me-but using the pattern ‘brick’ for the base…
