KN97 12.25 Kingwood Knife with Green Sheen Obsidian Handcrafted by Danny McBride, the writer of the first three Underworld films, this Neolithic knife is constructed from exotic Kingwood (Dalbergia cearensis). This wood hails from Brazil and was the favorite of Royalty in the 1700s. It is responsibly sourced from South America, is heavy, dense, and a true Rosewood. The translucent blade is knapped from translucent green sheen Obsidian from Oregon and is hafted with artificial sinew. If there is something, anything, wrong with your order, please reach out to me immediately through Etsy. I have a return policy and I will immediately attempt to make things right, whether or not it is a shipping issue, damage issue, no matter what the cause. I want satisfied customers so please message me with any issue whatsoever so that I can work to remedy it. Overall length, including blade and handle, is 12.25”. Weight: 5.7 ounces. Any light spots in photo are caused by the light source. I try to take photos under both natural sunlight and artificial lights, so you can see how the color changes accordingly. Many types of wood tend to look more orange or red under bright sunlight. Please note that all hardwoods can change color over time, so storing your knife out of direct sunlight is highly recommended. It should also be noted that most obsidian appears to be black or gray under low light conditions. To experience sheen or rainbow obsidians, one must place the obsidian under daylight or a daylight spectrum LED and tilt the blade until the colors appear. In this regard, the obsidian (well, the inclusions of various crystalized elements) acts as a prism. Sheen varieties flash one or two overall colors, like green or purple. Rainbow varieties flash several colors, sometimes many, which almost seem to be flowing under the glass. Please note that I strive to have satisfied customers, but if you drop the blade it could shatter. It is natural volcanic glass, but glass nonetheless. It should also be noted that even though I take the time to source the best materials available, these are natural materials and occasionally there are hidden imperfections that are not revealed until the wood is worked or the obsidian or flint is knapped. I do quality control and if it is something serious I put it aside. That said, it was never my intention for these creations to appear as if they rolled off of an assembly line. Each and every knife is handcrafted and one of a kind. Care: wipe down with lint free cloth. If the finish dulls after handling or fingerprints are left behind, just use a small amount of wax (Beeswax, Carnauba; even car wax with Carnauba), let dry, then hand polish with lint free cloth. Watch your fingers on the blade! Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or issues whatsoever. Your satisfaction is a priority. DISCLAIMER: These are display knife and as such, and unless otherwise noted, I typically do not sharpen them as much as the obsidian will allow, as I don't want people getting cut by simply looking at them! Well, touching them. Some types of obsidian are sharper than others and any serrations tend to be very sharp. In short, these knives are not toys. If you have any questions, please just reach out to me through Etsy.
