Summer is the season when everyone wants to glow! Highlighter looks THAT much better on tanned skin and it’s generally when all the makeup companies release their bomb highlighters. I’m a magpie for them, and I couldn’t resist sharing my top 3 purchases this Summer with you all… Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette I can’t deny I almost died when I saw this palette. I collect all the highlighter palettes and have done for years, and when I spotted the quadruple pans, I was literally in heaven! This is different to any other highlight I own because there’s more than one shade and it doesn’t come in the traditional metal casing. I really love the fact that it’s a see through palette which you can see all the colours in. 4 shades include Strobe White, Strobe Gold, Blush Pink and Blush Bronze. Truly versatile, you can use the shades to highlight, glow, bronze, blush and even use as eyeshadow or body shimmer. At £34, this is great value for money. Smashbox Petal Metal Highlighter Another highlighter I had been lusting over for months was this beautiful rose encased palette in collaboration with Makeup Artist Vlada. This is truly a collector’s piece and even if I hit pan and this finishes, I will not throw it away! It’s too pretty! Encased with a Rose Gold outer, this metallic finish oozes sexiness and style. It’s not too heavy to pick up, but it feels grande, and it’s an absolute beauty to admire. I opted for the shade Gilded Rose as it most suited my complexion, HOWEVER…I am tempted to buy the other 2 shades too. I swatched them all in store and the Prismatic Pearl gave off amazing duo chrome vibes which I was digging. The formula has a silky gel finish to it which I love. Each palette retails at £30 which is a very fair price considering how luxurious the highlighter looks. I actually got 10% off at Boots (I’m on the contact lens scheme) and I believe the code ‘WELCOME10’ will get you 10% off your first Smashbox order. Go go go! Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Palette This was a total unplanned purchase, but seeing as I am on a highlighter roll, I figured why not! It is my intention this year to try more from Charlotte Tilbury and this bar of goodness does not disappoint! There are 3 shades – The Original Gold, Rose Gold (new), and Gold Bullion (new) I’ve been mixing the shades to create my own custom glow and I’m a little bit obsessed with this. The colours compliment my tan quite nicely and I hardly apply much to my base. I simply sweep this across most of my face and neck for a glowy goddess look. This is the priciest palette out of all three at £49, but it’s worth every penny and you do get 3 shades. Which palette do you like the look of?
