Only a handful originals are know to still exist over 100 years later. The original was printed on 20” x 30” standard Double Crown, a very common size and was commonly used in theater posters. Shortly before mid-day on Easter Monday, the Proclamation was read aloud by Pádraig Pearse on the steps on the GPO. Copies were then erected on buildings around the city.
